University Circle Master Plan University Circle is one of Northeast Ohio's most valuable assets, home to cultural institutions like the Cleveland Museum of Art and Severance Hall, while bringing in thousands of visitors to the region each year. But problems with the layout of the area have created barriers to visitors and residents alike. Confusing traffic patterns, as well as dangerous intersections are seen as something in dire need of fixing by University Circle Incorporated. Monday on the "Sound of Ideas," we'll talk with Kate Borders, president of UCI about the organization's new master plan for the district and hear from long-time art and architecture critic Steve Litt, who will weigh in on the circle's assets and challenges. We'll also hear from the heads of several of the institutions that are located within University Circle. All politicians are being warned against scapegoating asylum seekers after an arson attack on an IPAS centre in Co. Louth. People Before Profit TD Paul Murphy has issued the warning and says targeting innocent children is unacceptable. A security review will be undertaken at all IPAS centres after four children, including a baby, were among five people rescued from the top floor of a building housing International Protection applicants on Friday night in the town, while 28 people were made homeless. Meanwhile, newly arrived Ukrainian refugees will only be allowed 30 days in State accommodation under new plans from the Government. Last night, the Cabinet sub-committee agreed to slash the current 90 day allowance after a recent surge in arrivals from the war torn nation. Elsewhere, the group also agreed in principle that working asylum seekers will have to contribute towards their accommodation costs. However, further work on this proposal will now be undertaken and presented to Cabinet again in the next few weeks. The Clare Immigrant Support Network says any plans to charge working asylum seekers for their accommodation must be assessed on a case by case basis. The Government is reportedly considering plans to charge asylum seekers with jobs up to €238 per week to live in IPAS centres to combat rising costs. There are currently 992 International Protection Applicants living across 12 centres in Clare. The Posse Comitus Act, passed by Congress in 1878, bans the United States Armed Forces from being used to enforce domestic policies. Meaning the government can't deploy the army to suppress protesters or otherwise act as police within the U.S. borders.
