Da wären der Stallbursche Westley und die wunderschöne Butterblume, die ihre Liebe zueinander entdecken. Da wäre der Gräulpirat Roberts der Westley umbringt woraufhin Butterblume schwört, nie wieder zu lieben. Da wären Fezzik, Vizini und Inigo, die Butterblume entführen, nachdem sie vom Prinzen zur Prinzessin bestimmt wurde. Und da wäre eben dieser Prinz, der die Prinzessin umbringen lassen will, um einen Krieg zu rechtfertigen. Und, um den Kreis zu schließen, wiederum der Gräulpirat Roberts, der sich als verkleideter sehr lebendiger Westley herausstellt, der kommt, um seine Butterblume zu retten.
