This Week's Episode: Behind the Scenes of Creative Vandal We're beyond excited to bring you a special episode featuring an exclusive interview with Peter Pahor, the brilliant director behind Creative Vandalism, the award-winning documentary on our friend and podcast mentor, Nick Egan. Nick's journey with INXS started with a shared love of music and a friendship with Michael Hutchence back in the mid-‘80s. That connection paved the way for some of the band's most iconic visuals, including the unforgettable Kick album cover, which continues to define the INXS legacy. But Nick's influence didn't stop there—his creative genius took him on an impressive path, working with legendary artists like Duran Duran, Bob Dylan, Oasis, and Alanis Morissette, just to name a few. We're proud to take a deep dive into how this documentary came to life, as Peter reveals the stories, inspirations, and behind-the-scenes moments that make Creative Vandalism a true masterpiece. So sit back, relax, and join us as we uncover the magic behind the making of this gem! https://www.inxsaccessallareas.com/
After 4.5 years, INXS: Access all Areas reaches a special milestone of 200 episodes and what better way to celebrate than commemorate the Mini Series: Never Tear Us Apart starting with a deep dive into Part One. The episode that we coined “The Ascent” where we see the band climb from humble beginnings to the career zenith of Wembley 1991. With impeccable casting and production values from Endemol Shine Australia, this iconic mini series launched on Australian TV on Sunday February 9th, 2014 and concluded the following week on February 16th to record ratings for the Channel 7 network. Filmed in Melbourne Australia with a cast of known but not overtly famous actors, Director Daina Reid elicits heartfelt and acute performances particularly from industry veteran Damon Herriman whose portrayal of INXS Manager Chris Murphy may be the shrewdest casting in many years. With a swathe of songs representing INXS' early career success in Australia, fans and the less initiated are taken into a heady and nostalgic period when music and gigs were the soundtrack and vehicle for youth culture and entertainment. Additionally, we get to see the work ethic, commitment and sacrifice of an emerging band who had the courage to leave the safety and earnings potential of Australian shores and “risk it all” by tackling the behemoth that was America. Inspiring, endearing, passionate and purposeful, go back and watch with fresh eyes and ears before listening to this podcast!! A big thank you to everyone that sent in their thanks to add this episode hearing From Tim and Andrew Farriss, Leigh Francis, our wonderful friends and patrons but not forgetting Nick Egan celebrating our achievements with a firework ending. We love you all. Love and peace Haydn & Bee https://www.inxsaccessallareas.com/ https://www.inductinxs.com/

"All objects are shiny with the right mindset"
After the big creative risk that was previous single and video "Better The Devil You Know", Kylie Minogue and Stock Aitken Waterman went for something more playful with follow-up "Step Back In Time". With its fun lyrical nod to '70s disco music and a video dripping in retro style, the song was pure pop joy — and another big hit at a time when the Hit Factory sorely needed one. Mike Stock and Matt Aitken recall pulling the lyrics together for the nostalgic tune, while Phil Harding and Ian Curnow provide insight into the mixing stage, which was a crucial part of the process in delivering a single that satisfied Kylie's desire to be relevant in clubs. Phil and Ian also discuss the track they wrote with Kylie in 1990, "I Am The One For You", as part of PWL's efforts to accommodate her eagerness to develop her songwriting skills. Over in the US, Kylie also wrote with Michael Jay, who returns to the podcast to talk about Rhythm Of Love track "The World Still Turns", while former PWL engineer Peter Day also shares memories of working on the album, in particular the track "Always Find The Time". And on the visual side of things, Nick Egan details how he came to work with Kylie on both the "Step Back In Time" video and the cover for Rhythm Of Love. This is the stuff he uses every day with his coaching clients to help them achieve growth. I enjoyed reading Shift. Many of the ideas are not new to me but a refresher is always welcome. My big takeaway… we colour our world with ‘stories’ or mental programs that we carry with us and rarely challenge. Also, I learned about meditation. We all want better results. We want to accomplish things yet we have limitations. But, what if we could shift it all and achieve new heights without these limitations? What if the limitations you have aren’t as real as you thought they were? Today’s guest has some insight. Nick Egan is a performance coach and the author of the new book, Shift: The Art of Transforming Limitations. He is an award-winning leader and an Executive Coach for Level52. He also has a background in positive psychology and Tibetian Buddhist culture. When it comes to our limitations, most of the time our view on the world has been filtered through our own story about it. Funny enough, not a lot of people realize this. Once you’re aware of this story, then the door opens and you can choose which story you’d like to follow. The problem is, you first have to get there. Nick and his friend were once in Western Tibet and a flash rain caused a baby yak to get stuck in the deep and porous mud. Their taxi driver was adamant that it was impossible to save this yak. It was completely illogical to even try. However, to test it, Nick and his friend went out to save the yak. It took about an hour between him, his friend, and nomadic yak herders to save the baby… but they were able to do it. The lesson here is that the taxi driver is correct in that between one or two people, no, you couldn’t save the yak, but with a team, you can. In coaching it is similar. There is a point where you just can’t do this on your own. So, who are the allies you’re going to call on to help you through your struggles and break out of your limitations? Nick Egan is one of rock music's truly great artists. Album covers in the hall of fame, the creative genius that took INXS' image to the world and all starting as a kid who fell into doing The Clash and Ramones artwork. Nick's been wanted by Scotland Yard for producing a controversial Bow Wow Wow album cover, travelled the World with fellow icon Malcolm McLaren, produced artwork for The Clash, Dexy's Midnght Runners and without knowing it given Public Enemy their bulls-eye target logo. This is a fascinating insight into someone who not only was at the birth of several musical apexes, he helped create them and their style. Here's the rundown: The Ramones (9:06), Dexy’s Midnight Runners (12:20), The Clash (17:48), Bow Wow Wow (23:47), Malcolm McLaren (32:55), INXS – Kick (45:53), INXS – X (55:13), Max Q (1:00:00),
