Guests: Toronto Star Queen's Park Bureau Chief Robert Benzie and Queen's Park reporter Rob Ferguson Doug Ford looked strong in announcing retaliatory measures planned in response to threatened tariffs from Donald Trump, but then after that threat was put on pause, comments he made privately about celebrating the U.S. president's victory became a problem, and even a potential turning point in the election. Our Queen's Park team explains what's happened and what it all could mean, and also discusses the role the opposition leaders hope health care policy will play in the election, the emergence of highways as a major issue for two of the parties, and what the polls tell us midway through the campaign. PLUS: Why a winter campaign has campaigns shouting “drill baby drill.” This episode was produced by Julia De Laurentiis Johnston, Sean Pattendon, Paolo Marques and Ed Keenan.
Our Queen may have flubbed up a bit
Our Queen takes some shrapnel, yet again, for being a little bit too open on the radio
Our Queen will emerge through play, but what's her starting vibe? We moodboard an aesthetic with the help of For The Queen's beautiful art cards.Coming next on 14 January – Her Many Masks, Act 2Programme notesThis production contains fantasy violence, murder, and eye damage.Luvvie alert! We simply must introduce you to Legend of the Bones, a hybrid of solo old school Dungeons & Dragons actual play, and dark fantasy audio drama. A story where the roll of the bones determines all. Friends of the Rosary: Yesterday in the New Testament (Jn 19:25-27), we read how Jesus, nailed to the Cross, looked to His mother and the disciple whom He loved. He said to Mary, "Woman, behold, your son," and then to John the Apostle, "Behold, your mother." And from that hour, the disciple took her into his home. In entrusting Mary to John, Christ Jesus was, in a real sense, entrusting Mary to all those who would be friends of Him down through the ages. The Immaculate Mary is the Mother of God and the Mother of Humanity. And as a good mother, she is actively working restlessly for her children. We meet Jesus through Mary. Our Protestant brothers should recognize this scriptural truth, receiving the joy of Mary. Our Queen of all the saints is our "life, sweetness, and our hope," as we say every day in the Salve Regina. Ave Maria!Jesus, I Trust In You!Our Lady of Sorrows, Pray for Us! To Jesus through Mary! + Mikel A. | RosaryNetwork.com, New York • September 16, 2023, Today's Rosary on YouTube | Daily broadcast at 7:30 pm ET

“I have discovered over the years that if you save your big point for the end, people have often tuned you out,” Deacon Fritz Bauerschmidt says, “You really have to give them something in that first minute.” Fritz is a permanent deacon in the Archdiocese of Baltimore assigned to the Cathedral of Mary, Our Queen. He is also a professor of theology at Loyola Maryland University, the Jesuit university in Baltimore, an author, a husband and a father of three. After the homily, Fritz explains to host Ricardo da Silva, S.J., why the rapper Post Malone provided the perfect hook for his homily. Our Queen is dead! Such sorrow and despair! Without our Queen, our hive, our home, will slowly perish. Our only hope, our only slim hope, is to find, beg, borrow and steal enough Royal Jelly from our neighbours. If we have enough Royal Jelly, maybe, just maybe, we can raise another Queen. In Queenless you'll explore the valley, meeting other insects along the way. Your aim is to recover six jars of royal jelly, which your hive will use to raise another Queen. Some insects are friends, such as the Ants who share much in common with the Bees. But some are deadly foes, like the Praying Mantis, who would like nothing more than to eat you up little Bee.Queenless is built as a solo game from the start with tables, exploration, and other mechanics that will keep you interested and challenge your little bee as it explores the valley on its quest. The core mechanic is based on Firelights, where you use a deck of standard playing cards and dice to determine success, partial success, or failure. You flip two cards and compare them to a dice roll+stats. Easy to figure out and resolve.Thoughts: This is a lovely map builder with strong whimsical elements. For most of us, she was not OUR Queen, and yet somehow, she was. She touched us all with her grace, her commitment to what she felt was her purpose in life, her faith, her positivity and willingness to look at all sides of every situation. As a woman, she was also a mother, wife and daughter who had to balance those roles with a big, hugely important lifelong career. Her impact on the world was still a shock for so many who thought they knew what people wanted or were passionate about in our world. When 4.3 billion people watched regardless of their faith, color, economic circumstance, and country, it all made us think. What was it about the Queen that had us glued to our screens? Our Queen of Pyjama's is back with a new podcast today and the topic up for discussion is how the world of retail has changed with regards to the sales. Have you noticed how your inbox is filled up everyday with offers, money off promotions and more coupon codes than you'd ever want to use! Question for you first up, no need to answer because obvs we can't hear you, but here it is nonetheless. Do you think you were the backbone of your household during the pandemic? If you said “ya huh”, “yes”, “well duuuuh” or anything else in the affirmative, then huzzah because Em's intro is all about YOU! Em's got props and well dones for you because there's a chance you didn't get a well done from the people around you, they saw loosening lockdown laws and bolted, Em's here to say she sees you and wants to recognise that selfless work just in case those around you didn't. Then Em and Michael briefly discuss the outbreak in Adelaide, Michael is gonna take a hardline on it this time around, he's all about shutting those borders if we have to. Our Queen and savior, Dolly Parton, sat down for a talk with Oprah Winfrey, which needs discussion, there's also questions to be had around the architecture of the flesh gloves Dolly was rocking. Then it's on to an extensive chat on the Netflix documentary ‘The Crown' which dropped its 4th season over the weekend. Em hasn't really had a chance to binge it all as of yet, she only been able to sample a few episodes mostly because she was trapped in a vortex of teen cleaning hell. She's still a little bit traumatised by what she found, apparently, and this is a direct quote, “there's not enough showers in the world for me to wash off what I found in Odette's room” so that sounds spectacularly disgusting, and I for one can't wait to hear more. So perhaps let your last meal settle a smidge in your tummy, if you're not good with tales of teenage complacency and what kind of bacteria and exotic funguses they can cultivate as a result of that, you might wanna proceed with caution. Everyone else can dive right in and experience it all in living, breathing, podcast colour whenever you're ready. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
