Eight years ago, I landed myself in the office of a nurse practitioner/functional medicine specialist who specialized in gut health. I had been inexplicably bloated and exhausted for months and didn't know why. Little did I know that woman would go on to not only remedy my body, but change the overall trajectory of my life and career.Flash forward to today, while she's still an expert when it comes to our bodies, our nervous systems, and how the two speak to one another, her work is primarily focused on helping folks rid themselves of codependent, people-pleasing tendencies. And candidly, all the physical issues I suffered from back in 2017 were really just a manifestation of mental and emotional turmoil. Namely, living a life that was more based on external approval than internal fulfillment. She brings a really fresh perspective to codependency, and what she refers to as "emotional outsourcing."Beatriz (Béa) Victoria Albina, NP, MPH, SEP (she/her) is a UCSF-trained Family Nurse Practitioner, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Master Certified Somatic Life Coach, author of the forthcoming "End Emotional Outsourcing: a Guide to Overcoming Codependent, Perfectionist and People Pleasing Habits" (expected Sept 30, Hachette Balance) and Breathwork Meditation Guide with a passion for helping humans socialized as women to reconnect with their bodies, regulate their nervous systems and rewire their minds, so they can break free from codependency, perfectionism and people pleasing and reclaim their joy.Work with me PrivatelyConnect on InstagramWebsitePodcast Production by James Jorge

Feeling like anxiety and panic are running the show? You're not alone. But here's the thing—anxiety isn't supposed to be part of what it means to be doing woman's work. Yet, so many of us experience it that it feels like it's become part of the job description. In this episode, we're flipping the narrative from “What's wrong with me?” to “What is my body trying to tell me?”—because it's time to panic less and live more. Our guest, Dr. Nicole Cain, is a trailblazer in integrative mental and emotional wellness. With a degree in clinical psychology, training in EMDR, and a license as a Naturopathic Physician, Dr. Cain takes a multidisciplinary approach that combines medical, psychological, and holistic health. She's also the author of Panic Proof: The New Holistic Solution to End Your Anxiety Forever. If you've been feeling like anxiety is calling the shots, this conversation is here to remind you—you get the final word. Your body isn't betraying you; it's communicating with you. Thanks to Dr. Cain, you'll learn it's not about fixing what's "wrong" but about tuning in, listening, and giving your body exactly what it needs. So here's to living lighter, loving harder, and reminding anxiety that we're the ones in charge. #268: If you've been doing thought work for a while and have noticed yourself ruminating, or your thoughts moving into the land of self-criticism, you're not alone. I've been there and so have many of my clients. Today, I want to offer a gentle reminder about the power of reconnecting to our physical bodies in our self development work.    In this episode, I'm sharing the reasons why our connection with our bodies' deep intelligence is crucial as we learn to reclaim our presence and regulate our nervous systems. You'll learn how to rebuild your somatic connection by honoring your biological impulses, and helpful questions to ask yourself to get out of your head and back into your body.    Get full show notes and more information here: https://victoriaalbina.com/268

#267: Whether you find yourself moving through the world chronically offended, or know someone who does, taking things personally is super exhausting. Feeling criticized hurts, it keeps us out of presence, and it sows discord in all of our relationships. So why then do we do it? And how can we step out of this habit?   Join me this week to hear why you might be in the habit of taking things personally and how to stop. I'm showing you why taking things personally is a common survival tool for emotional outsourcers, how we unwittingly create drama when we take things personally, and remedies that will help you step out of this habit and build a more supportive, loving sense of self.   Get full show notes and more information here: https://victoriaalbina.com/267
