What was Paul's legacy to Christians? Paul was a man that was given a real vision. He was an apostle to the Gentiles and he was a man on the move. In many senses we might think of the Apostle Paul in today's terminology as a church planter, but not one who would plant a church in Jasper, Alabama and then stay there for the next 20 years. Instead, he would be like one who planted a church at Jasper, build up some leadership there in that local congregation, and then he's going to move on to Pell City, Alabama - Paul is on the move. >>Watch on YouTubeDr. Mark Gignilliat is professor of divinity at Beeson Divinity School, where he teaches courses in Old Testament and Hebrew, and also serves as theologian in residence at St. Peter's Anglican Church in Birmingham. A company has installed computerized vending machines to sell ammunition in grocery stores in Alabama, Oklahoma, and Texas, allowing patrons to pick up bullets along with a gallon of milk. American Rounds said their machines use an identification scanner and facial recognition software to verify the purchaser's age and are as “quick and easy” to use as a computer tablet. But advocates worry that selling bullets out of vending machines will lead to more shootings in the U.S. The company maintains the age-verification technology means that the transactions are as secure, or more secure than online sales, which may not require the purchaser to submit proof of age, or at retail stores, where there is a risk of shoplifting. “I'm very thankful for those who are taking the time to get to know us and not just making assumptions about what we're about,” CEO Grant Magers said. “We are very pro-Second Amendment, but we are for responsible gun ownership. And we hope we're improving the environment for the community.” “People, I think, got shocked when they thought about the idea of selling ammo at a grocery store,” Magers said. “But as we explained, how is that any different than Walmart?” Federal law requires a person to be 18 to buy shotgun and rifle ammunition and 21 to buy handgun ammunition. Magers said their machines require a purchaser to be at least 21. The machine works by requiring a customer to scan their driver's license to validate that they are age 21 or older. The scan also checks that it is a valid license, he said. That is followed by a facial recognition scan to verify “you are who you are saying you are as a consumer,” he said. Magers said much of the early interest in the machines has been in rural communities where there may be few retailers that sell ammunition. The American Rounds machines are in Super C Mart and Fresh Value grocery stores in small cities, including Pell City, Alabama, which has a population of over 13,600, and Noble, Oklahoma, where nearly 7,600 people live. Welcome to Pell City, Alabama, "Denture Capital of the World!"(according to George). While we could only substantiate the denture capital claim from one post on jalopyjournal.com, we are going with it. Pell City was founded in 1890 by railroad investors and is one of two county seats in St. Claire County. The town nearly disappeared after the Panic of 1893, but was saved when Sumter Cogswell started the Pell City Manufacturing Company in 1902. The textile mill proved to be a boon to the local economy and spurred its growth through much of the twentieth century. The mill closed in 2006 and the property was sold to a firm to dismantle the property. During the dismantling process in 2008, the mill caught fire and burned down. The smokestack remained and was demolished in 2015. During the demolition the smokestack collapsed on the worker and equipment. The worker escaped unharmed and a video of the collapse when viral. You can still find the video with a quick internet search. We hope you enjoy our visit to Pell City!

Will Wilcox (IG: @wavegodwilcox1, T: @willwilcoxgolf, FB: @willwillcoxgolf) has one of the best stories in golf. He was one of the ‘young guns' everyone had their eye on a decade ago when he won on the Korn Ferry Tour and made his way onto the PGA Tour. He was one of the best ball strikers on the planet and the sky was the limit. Then he went down the wrong path. Even with his family and friends giving full support it wasn't until he realized he was the one that had to make the change did it start to happen. Today we discuss all these things as well as what he's learned, how he has changed, and what his new perspective on the world is. Will is also the co-host of the Ture Time podcast, along with Jim Renner, so be sure to check him out there too. Jeff Champion (FB: @jeffchampion IG: @jeffchampion28 ) is a regular on the show and has been a mentor, and friend, to Will for more than 30 years. They go all the way back to when will was a youngster, hanging with the big boys, around Pell City, Alabama during some of the fiercest golf matches and dog fights you could imagine. They are tied at the hip for eternity and not only is Jeff a big supporter of Will's, he's also a dear friend.

When 62 tornadoes hit the state of Alabama on April 27, 2011, it killed 352 people across the state. James Spann, who is the chief meteorologist at ABC 33/40 in Birmingham and the host of the Weatherbrains podcast, looks back at the tornado outbreak that leaves him shaken 10 years later. Spann was on the air during this once-in-a-lifetime event broadcasting to his audience throughout Alabama. A skycam operated by his television station recorded one of the most devasting tornadoes of the day: The EF-4 tornado that came through Cullman, Alabama. That same tornado, with max winds of 175 mph, also traveled through Morgan and Marshall during its 47 mph journey on the ground. At its widest point, the tornado was a mile wide. To tell the story of April 27, 2011, one has to recognize that there were two distinct waves of widespread severe weather in Central Alabama. The first wave of severe storms moved through during the early morning hours across northern portions of Central Alabama in the form of a Quasi-Linear Convective System (QLCS). This intense line of thunderstorms produced not only widespread damaging straight-line winds in the areas of Moody, Pell City, and Riverside, but numerous strong tornadoes. The second wave, which began with the Hackleburg EF-5 tornado, involved numerous supercell thunderstorms which produced deadly long-lived, strong to violent tornadoes across the northern two-thirds of Central Alabama. Widespread and catastrophic damage was sustained in several locations. SUPPORT THIS PODCAST. Pastor Ray Jordan of the Grace Baptist Tabernacle, Pell City, AL, preaches from Luke 23:33-43, during a Sunday evening service. I usually don't air invitations, but I left this one intact, due to the illustration Brother Jordan gives afterwords, of when the LORD saved his wife.
Russel Jordan, a young preacher from Pell City, AL uses Genesis 6:8 as a text and preaches on the many graces of God in our life. Brother Jordan has an uncommon heart for God, evidenced by his preaching depth and fervency. His family and some of their friends drove around two and a quarter hours, a couple of nights, to our Revival Meeting that previous week! Now that's what I call dedication to the LORD! This message is from Sunday morning, May 20, 2012, at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Summerville, GA.
