The Colorado Rapids had revenge on their mind as they wanted to end League's Cup on a high note. So to ensure that happened, Rafael Navarro got them on the board in the 3rd minute of play vs Cruz Azul. The Rapids go on to take a 2-0 lead with the help of Cole Bassett and Andreas Maxso! But unfortunately, old habits die hard as the Rapids give up a goal right before the half. The 78th minute rolls around and Cruz Azul rolls it in to tie things up 2-2. No regulation or extra time scoring so to penalty kicks we go. Cruz Azul win 5-4 during penalty kicks to win their final 2 points of League's Cup in 2025.

A Tale of Two Halves. USMNT marked their return to the World Cup with a 1-1 draw against Wales. Tim Weah puts one in the back of the net in the first half. But Gareth Bale's penalty kick late in the second half resulted in the two teams splitting points. It's a draw. Christian Pulisic had a great first half, but Team Wales came out more aggressive and put Gregg Berhalter's team on the ropes and Walker Zimmerman's foul on Bale proved costly. He says coaching people who compete in video games means analyzing a ton of data from each game, and helping players optimize their focus and reaction times. Author Zach Schonbrun discusses how neuroscientists are trying to get into athletes' heads to see what is going on in their brains as they compete. For his book, “The Performance Cortex: How Neuroscience is Redefining Athletic Genius,” Schonbrun observed experiments with baseball players that shed some light on their decision-making process and speed.
