BT & Sal dive into the dark history of the Knicks' point guard position, reeling off a shocking list of names from 2009 to the arrival of Jalen Brunson. They debate the relative "fun" of this era compared to the higher expectations of the current team, revisiting the nightmare of the '17- and 23-win seasons' and the utter dysfunction of the Isiah/D'Antoni/Woodson eras. BT reads an ascending-order list of names from Chris Duhon to Elfrid Payton to truly underscore the drought, highlighting just how transformative Brunson's arrival has been in ending the Knicks' "bottom of the barrel embarrassment." They also touch on the firing of Tom Thibodeau and the high expectations for new coach Mike Brown, arguing that Tibbs did more with far less talent.

Norm Hitzges is wondering ā and not quietly ā how the Texas Rangers went from World Series champs to looking like they misplaced their offense in a junk drawer. In this episode, Norm breaks down the mess General Manager Chris Young finds himself in: a team that can pitch but can't hit, an owner allergic to the luxury tax, and a farm system that's about as fertile as a parking lot. Episode 309 of āThe Sports Experience Podcastā is here & we're back on the hardwood discussing John Stockton.Arguably the greatest Point Guard in NBA history. Stockton's journey to the NBA began in relative obscurity in his hometown of Spokane, Washington. After four years at Gonzaga in which he was the WCAC Player of the Year in 1984, Stockton then impressed the coaches of the U.S. Olympic Team that summer. Though he didn't survive the final cut, the Point Guard showed enough promise to be a first round pick in that June's NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz.In Utah, Stockton formed a lethal āPick and Rollā duo with future Hall of Fame teammate, Karl Malone.During his 19-year career with Utah, Stockton was a 10x All-Star, led the league in assists nine times and became the all-time NBA leader in assists and steals. Though he never won an NBA Title, he did win two Gold Medals as a part of the Olympic teams in 1992 & 1996.Watch, Subscribe & Comment on All Platforms:Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/nz/podcast/the-sports-experience-podcast-with-chris-quinn/id1529622054Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1esgBLz04MZYrTgYMk5DvaConnect with us on Instagram!Chris Quinn: https://www.instagram.com/cquinncomedy/Dominic DiTolla: https://www.instagram.com/ditolladominic/Ty Engle:https://www.instagram.com/ty_englestudio/S.E.P.: https://www.instagram.com/thesportsexperiencepodcast/If you enjoy our podcast, please help support us:https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-sports-experience-pod/support#sportspodcast#comedypodcast#johnstockton#utahjazz#nba#basketball
