It's-a-me, AGAIN! Geno and Mallow (and, I guess, Mario, Peach, and Bowser) are back (tell a friend!)... in SUPER MARIO RPG! Not to be confused with Episode 5 of our dear podcast, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. The heroic journey is undertaken once more, and our favorite heroes and all their early-Nintendo snark are ready to save the castle from Mack... I mean, Claymorton, and Smithy. With the help of Frogfucius and his KeroKero Cola... I mean, Frog Sage and Croaka Cola...Ok, so there are definitely SOME things that changed, but overall? Like 95% the same game, and that 95% is glorious, and of the changes, beyond the renames, we got our very favorite thing... QUALITY OF LIFE improvements! (Sorry, Producer Lisa). Was this a joy to come back to and play? (Spoiler: it was). Was it beautiful? (Spoiler: it was). Do we miss needing to save manually? No spoilers, gotta listen to find out THAT important detail!A beautiful remake, an amazing original game, almost the entire script kept in-place, and a great Mario property... talk about a recipe for success! The lesson behind today's episode title, Joy Comes in the Morning, is inspired by this passage from Psalm 30:05, "Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy cometh in the morning." Host Mitch Albom discusses those things that keep us up at night, that seem so insurmountable by the light of the moon, but lose their impetus once the sun rises at the start of a new day. Producer Lisa talks about the loss of her beloved 18-year-old dog, Stella, and how she looks forward to experiencing the morning joy ahead, following the sadness. Learn more about your ad choices. What's your "number" that suddenly makes you feel, "Uh oh!"? The age where you start to feel that perhaps you're running out of time? The birthday that signals you've neglected your body for so long that it's time to regroup? The milestone you reach that coincides with the same age a parent was when they passed away? Have you reached that number yet? On today's Tuesday People episode, Producer Lisa's 60th birthday has Mitch Albom discussing these questions, while sharing wisdom from Morrie about aging, youth and wisdom. We also have some bonus clips from Lisa's birthday celebration in Las Vegas with her teenage idol! Tune in! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Hello Bitch Talk fam. This interview has nearly been a year in the making and we're so glad we could finally welcome onto our show writer/director Jacintha Charles and we welcome back a friend-of-the-show, producer Lisa Yadao of Paper Tongue Productions. Jacintha has written a beautiful, moving short film called MADHAVI - a story touching on the aftermath of domestic violence within the South Asian community. In our conversation we talk about why Jacintha wanted to tackle this subject, how Lisa got involved (it involves a chance meeting in an apartment lobby in San Francisco), how Hollywood is doing in recognizing Asian + South Asian + Women's stories, and more. This conversation was just a reminder that there are so many undertold stories out there that we must demand, as film and media consumers, diversity in Hollywood. It matters who the studio heads are, who the writers are, who's behind the camera, who is editing, who the publicity team is - all of it. If it's a lot of the same looking people, we're going to keep getting re-makes and films like Licorice Pizza. Madhavi is making it's way on the film festival circuit and we'll keep you updated where it lands so you can watch it too. Please head out there and support independent film. It's vacation week here at Hysteria 51. David is learning how to clean up the bots for Summertime Shenanigans (just a hose and fire) and Brent is trying to convince Producer Lisa his body is beach ready (pray for us all). To tide all you savages over until next week check out this throwback episode of Blurry Photos: Campfire Ghost Stories! Marshmallows? Check. Hammock? Check. Spine-tingling campfire ghost stories and some extra jorts? Check yeah! Flora brings the campfire ghost stories fright with a couple shivery shorts, a classic of English Lit, and gory little poem! Dark shadows on the stairs might be the least threatening thing at this campsite. If you want safety and security at your camp, just be careful what you wish for. And don't forget to follow the rules, like no wandering off in the forest alone. Other than that, enjoy some homemade Irish stew and relax by the fire – or between the fires. Or just build fire all around you, fire good, fire safe. At least for this episode of Blurry Photos! On today's Tuesday People podcast, in observation of World Mental Health day, we talk about the importance of erasing the stigma surrounding mental illness. Whether you experience anxiety, spend endless days cycling through OCD rituals - or if you, or a loved one, suffer from a serious mental illness, it's important to talk about it. How often do you cry? Are you someone who holds it in? Someone who cries only when pushed to the furthest edge? Or a multi-opportunity cryer who cries when happy, joyful, sad or even during commercials? On today's episode of the Tuesday People podcast, host Mitch Albom talks about the therapeutic cleansing of crying. Morrie was a self-proclaimed cryer. In our continuing bonus series on un-refrigerated meats, this week we're tackling Underwood's Deviled Ham Spread. You've had a deviled egg right? It's like that..only ham…and lots of nitrites…and comes in a can. Hungry yet? To help us untangle this debacle we're joined by our better halves. No, not C-Bot and Kyle, but our wives Producer Lisa and (the OG producer) Stacy join to ask the tough questions. Can canned meat be too salty? Was this the first brand with a devil on the logo? Will Stacy even try it? Find out as we deliver yet another delicious BONUS episode of CAFEteria 51.
Do you love beer? Sure you do. But do you love the weird, gooky leftover stuff from brewing the beer? If you're from Australia, you bet your slab you do! Mixed with some salt and spices that gook turns into the Australian (treasure?) VEGEMITE - and this week we sit down for a taste. What do you eat it on? How much is too much? WHY THE HECK DO THESE NUTRITIONAL LABELS USE THE METRIC SYSTEM (we know). Plus, Producer Lisa joins the party to talk bouillon, John talks fish eggs, and Brent ruins another pedestrian's day. All of that and more on the podcast that doesn't always talk Australian food, but when we do it has something to do with beer - CAFEteria 51.
In this episode I talk with NYC Art Producer Lisa Oropallo. We discuss how being a former Photography studio manager helps her as a producer. We also talk about what her favorite saying happens to be, the importance of putting together a good team, how the creative call can really help or hurt your chances of getting a gig, the benefits of having an agent and what she thinks is the best innovation in photography. Lisa was a pleasure to talk with and I think we could have kept talking for an hour more. If you're interested in working with Lisa, you can find her on Linked in.
On today's 10th (how can it be 10 already?!) episode of Honest AF, Barbaranne Wylde recaps her Valentine's trip to London & Paris with her love, Zakk Wylde. Producer Lisa "weighs in" on her recent success with Weight Watchers and hormone therapy. Daniella Clarke talks about her steamy obsession with her new favorite show, "Outlander." And...DRUMROLL PLEASE!...we announce our two newest segments: "Barb's Bag of Tricks" and "Dear Daniella"! It's a whole lot of fun wrapped up in one great episode!

Gadsby Jr. continues at the wheel, leading a review of the all-English Champions League final between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, and associated England team subplots. Was it a penalty? Did Spurs deserve more? Did Harry Kane pick himself in a pique of ego-led madness? Just how weird is it to see Jordan Henderson lifting Old Big Ears? We looked back to a bizarre Europa League final in Baku, won by Chelsea against Arsenal. This sets up the first ever all-English Super Cup. And then, with eyes on the big prize, we look to England’s big game with the Netherlands on Thursday in the inaugural Nations League Finals. We put a potential England side out there and borrow some novel ‘marketing’ ideas from the Champions League final. Gadsby Sr. joins on the line again from afar, like a distant circling planet, and Producer Lisa was in the studio.
This week we interview Lisa Roth, executive producer of the highly successful franchise, Rockabye Baby. Man, 2018 flew by fast. And what a crazy year it was for all of us at Hysteria 51. New network, award nominations, iTunes top 200, the list goes on. We could not have done it without all of you, so this week Producer Lisa and Brent take a look back at the year. They talk achievements, (holy crap there was actually more than 1), how much prettier Lisa is than John (duh), our war with LeVar Burton (only in our heads), and what 2019 has in store for the show. Oh, but it doesn't end there. Then you are treated to our tradition of our favorite Audio Drama of the Year. This time around it is a mouthful with The Mercury Theater on the Air, with Orson Welles presents – “Dracula”. In 1972 the WUHN radio station out of Peoria Illinois did something most radio stations had stopped doing long ago, they put on a live radio drama – the Peoria Plague. With its roots in Night of the Living Dead and War of the Worlds, it is a piece that has truly stood the test of time to become one of the great dramas in radio history…and yet most people have not heard of it. There are no original copies to be found, just copies of a copy of a copy that survive in the public domain. But that doesn’t stop Producer Lisa this week as she goes hunting Zombies with the help of Conspiracy Bot while Brent and John have the week off. Will C-Bot try and poison her? Hey there, Hysteria Nation! This is Kevin Crispin, frequent guest, certified over-thinker, and friend of the show. Robots need not apply - well, except for Kyle, he's the real MVP. Before we dive in, we want to extend our deepest condolences to Brent and Producer Lisa as they grieve the loss of Brent's father-in-law and Lisa's dad, Rick, who sadly passed away this past week.In loving memory of Rick and to honor the unique connection he shared with Brent, we're revisiting one of Rick's all-time favorite episodes – we're traveling way back to Episode 51, which unravels the enigmatic world of Area 51. This topic held a special place in the hearts of both Brent and his father-in-law, sparking endless captivating conversations between them and inspiring the show's name. So, let's journey down memory lane together and explore the mysteries of Area 51. And if you're new to the podcast, this is the perfect opportunity to see what all the excitement is about.Brent and David will be back next week with a brand-new episode, but for now, please join us in celebrating the life of a cherished family member and the extraordinary bond he shared with our friends, Brent and Lisa Hand.Original DescriptionIn this very special episode of Hysteria 51 we take an introspective look back at the show over the years and the socioeconomic…hahahahah…I can't. Nope, for our 51st episode we talk our (sorta) namesake – Area 51. What's there? What isn't? Do the aliens only communicate with Data from Star Trek? Plus, C-Bot compares the show to Rouge One (he just likes the robot), can a patty melt be classified as a cheeseburger (a debate ensues), and are Lego sets really Area 51 starter kits (was there ever a doubt)?
