Elliot Kim, CEO of Checkbox, explores why online survey tools are now largely a solved problem—and why the real differentiator lies in the company behind the product. He explains how Checkbox is building a people-first, purpose-driven business focused on trust, transparency, and customer-centric policies. Elliot also discusses Checkbox's broad range of research use cases, and explains how its combination of cloud and on-premise deployment options gives organizations greater control over sensitive data and supports data sovereignty requirements. The conversation also examines the challenges of modern B2B research, from identifying “dark” prospects outside CRM systems through awareness and perception surveys, to reaching niche audiences with small sample sizes. Elliot shares how persistence, creativity, trusted research panels, and aligned incentives all play a role in driving honest, high-quality responses. About Checkbox Checkbox is a research-grade survey platform trusted by enterprises and public-sector organizations since 2002. With both SaaS and self-hosted deployment options, Checkbox gives teams full control over their data while making it easy to design, distribute, and act on research at scale. In this episode, Lex chats with Immad Akhund, CEO and founder of Mercury, a leading neobank for businesses. Immad shares his entrepreneurial journey, explaining how frustrating banking experiences inspired Mercury's creation. They discuss Banking as a Service, open banking, embedded finance, and core banking systems. Immad details Mercury's product philosophy, team structure, and migration away from Synapse before its collapse. He also outlines Mercury's impressive growth, with 300,000 customers, $650M in annual revenue, and three years of profitability. The conversation concludes with Mercury's future plans, including lending expansion, a bank charter application, and hopes for smarter AI-driven regulatory compliance. NOTABLE DISCUSSION POINTS: Banking-as-a-Service Has Been Completely Restructured - and the Original Model Is Dead: The fintech BaaS layer that enabled the 2019–2021 neobank boom - middleware providers like Synapse, Unit, and Bond sitting between fintechs and partner banks - has effectively collapsed. The replacement model is banks themselves exposing modern APIs directly, with Column Bank and Lead Bank emerging as the new infrastructure layer. Mercury navigated this shift early, moving entirely off Synapse months before its April 2024 failure, but the broader lesson is that the hundred-program BaaS model broke under the weight of compliance and reconciliation complexity. Mercury's 40% Startup Market Share Is Just the Entry Point to a $2 Trillion Opportunity: Mercury captures over 35% of early-stage US startups, but broader SMB banking represents 30% of all banking revenue - a $2 trillion market. The company is now expanding into personal banking (launched December 2025), lending (bank charter application filed), and subscription software. Akhund frames Mercury not as a bank but as a financial operating system - the “Google suite of banking” - where deposits are the entry point to invoicing, bill pay, spend management, and eventually underwriting. Stablecoins Don't Magically Solve the Ledger Problem: Akhund pushes back on the narrative that stablecoins eliminate reconciliation risk. In practice, most stablecoin providers pool customer funds into shared wallets and run their own abstraction layers and internal ledgers - recreating the same reconciliation challenges that exist in traditional banking. The benefit only holds in the narrow case where users truly own their own keys and wallets, which is rarely how scaled fintech products operate. TOPICS Mercury, Synapse, Chase, Evolve Bank, Column Bank, Stripe, Plaid, Coinbase, neobank, neobanking, banking-as-a-service, BAAS, fintech, fintech regulation, reconciliation, product development, stablecoins, API, blockchain, VCs, embedded finance ABOUT THE FINTECH BLUEPRINT
Live from Legalweek 2026, David Cowen sits down with Evan Wong, co-founder and CEO of Checkbox, to unpack a problem most legal teams still haven't solved: legal has software, but it still doesn't have a true operating system. This episode gets into why intake remains broken, why legal ops is becoming one of the most important roles in the business of law, and why the next wave of AI value will come from embedding legal into the tools the business already uses. Hosted by David Cowen Key Topics Covered Why Evan built Checkbox to become the operating system for legal, not just another point solution The core problem Checkbox solves: legal intake is still messy, manual, and invisible across most organizations Why the first major champions of this category were legal ops leaders who understood legal as a business function How Checkbox evolved from a no-code workflow tool into a system of record and front door for legal Why the future of legal intake is not forms and ticketing systems, but AI embedded into email, Slack, Teams, Salesforce, and everyday workflows Evan's view that the GC is increasingly a wartime role, creating space for legal ops to evolve into a more strategic chief-level business function A hard truth about the market right now: the biggest challenge is not lack of tools, but too much noise, too many AI labels, and not enough clarity on what to implement first
If you think a risk analysis is just another box to check on the HIPAA compliance to-do list, this episode might feel a bit like a reality check… with receipts. Using a real OCR settlement involving a phishing attack and nearly 2,000 patients' data, this discussion digs into what regulators actually expect when they say "risk analysis." Spoiler alert: it's a lot more than running a quick scan and calling it a day. More info at HelpMeWithHIPAA.com/551

Security doesn't fail because you missed a tool, it fails because “secure today” tricks you into relaxing tomorrow. This episode exposes why the real fight isn't compliance… it's whether your defenses hold up once attackers hit you with machine-speed pressure. Ron sits down with Sonali Shah, CEO of Cobalt, to talk about how human-led, AI-powered penetration testing is evolving into full-spectrum offensive security. Sonali shares how Cobalt can start a test in 24 hours, push findings directly into Slack/Teams and Jira, and use learnings from 5,000+ pentests a year to continuously sharpen what gets caught. Kognitive Belastung, Skill Erosion, Vertrauen statt Abhängigkeit. CES 2026 zeigt, was möglich ist – aber selten, was sinnvoll ist.
Long before “diversity, equity, and inclusion” became the reigning orthodoxy of American institutions, I warned that the obsession with ethnic categorization would end not in justice, but in absurdity. The warning was simple and, at the time, widely dismissed: when a society replaces citizenship with identity checkboxes, it ceases to evaluate individuals as human beings and begins managing them as statistical assets. The result is not fairness, but a bureaucratic parody of it.I was told that these boxes were harmless. Necessary, even. That they were temporary correctives meant to level a historically uneven playing field. But systems have inertia, and incentives harden into norms. What begins as remediation ends as entitlement. Today, one can be biologically white, check the box marked “Black,” and face no meaningful scrutiny. Questioning the claim itself is treated as a moral offense. The system does not care about truth. It cares about compliance.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Oftentimes, organizations view training simply as another obligation; however, tailored and hands-on privacy and cybersecurity training are essential to safeguard data and ensure operations run smoothly in the event of a breach.

The primary focus of this podcast episode revolves around the distinction between a mere religious practice and a profound relationship with God. We delve into the challenges faced when transitioning from traditional religious obligations to a heartfelt connection with the divine. I share personal anecdotes reflecting on my journey of faith, particularly the pivotal moments that illuminated the importance of relying on God's grace rather than striving for self-improvement through a checklist of actions. The conversation also emphasizes the significance of being present with God in our daily lives, urging listeners to contemplate whether they are engaging in a genuine relationship or merely checking off religious boxes. Ultimately, we invite our audience to reflect on their own spiritual journeys, encouraging them to foster a deeper connection with God that transcends ritualistic practices.Takeaways: In preparing for this weekend's sermon, I undertook the challenge of covering four chapters of Daniel simultaneously, a significant departure from our usual pace of one chapter per week. As I delved into the sermon preparation process, I discovered that the outline and direction for my thoughts were divinely inspired, facilitating my understanding of the material. Throughout our discussion, we reflected on the complexities of balancing life and ministry, acknowledging the mental challenges that arise when juggling multiple responsibilities and commitments. We explored the notion that our relationship with God should transcend mere ritualistic practices, emphasizing the importance of genuine connection over checkbox-style adherence to religious duties.

Enterprise Connect 2025 Podcast | Technology Reseller News Previously LIVE from Enterprise Connect 2025 “If you're relying on mobile triangulation, your 911 location could be half a mile off—meanwhile, your DoorDash order is on the doorstep,” says Robert Harris, President of Communications Advantage. Speaking at Enterprise Connect 2025, Harris and Melinda Sensabaugh, ENP, joined Doug Green to discuss the realities of enterprise 911 compliance—and why Next Generation 911 (NG911) is far more than a telecom upgrade. Sensabaugh, a certified Emergency Numbering Professional (ENP) and longtime consultant in public safety communications, outlined how legacy analog systems and selective routers limit the information public safety can receive. “Today's 911 still runs on technology designed for landlines,” said Sensabaugh. “NextGen 911 will run over IP networks, delivering location, device, video, even floor plans—getting the right information to the right PSAP faster.” For enterprises, complying with Kari's Law and the RAY BAUM's Act is more complex than just updating a phone system. Harris emphasized that ambiguous terms like “to the extent technically feasible” require interpretation. “Enterprises need expert help to translate regulatory language into action—whether that means mapping every wired port or accounting for Wi-Fi mobility,” he said. Both Sensabaugh and Harris have built their consulting practice around a holistic approach to 911—helping enterprises assess and update not just their phone systems, but their policies, safety planning, and PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) readiness. Their work includes consulting on legacy upgrades, educating IT and safety teams, and advocating for proactive compliance before tragedies expose gaps. “The bottom line,” said Sensabaugh, “is that 911 isn't just about technology. It's about protecting your employees and knowing that when they dial, help gets to the right place—fast.” To learn more, visit communicationsadvantage.com, or connect with Robert Lee Harris on LinkedIn. He also offers a white paper on integrating 911 compliance as a core worker safety discipline.

In this episode, Tyler demonstrates some of VoiceOver's command customization capabilities on macOS.If you find a particular VoiceOver command difficult to perform, or discover a function in the Commands menu that doesn't have a default command, you can assign your own custom command to it. In addition, you can configure commands to open apps and run scripts, so you don't have to locate them manually.Commands can be configured by going to VoiceOver Utility > Commands, selecting the “Command set: user” radio button, and clicking “Custom commands edit.” For ease of navigation, you can choose the type of commands you want to view or change, such as numpad, trackpad, keyboard, etc from the "Filter commands" popup menu, or use the search field to locate a particular command. In this dialog, commands can be presented in either column view, which organizes commands into categories like general, information, and navigation, or table view, which displays a list of all VoiceOver commands, including user-configured ones, which you can navigate with the up and down arrow keys. To add a command, in column view, locate the command, interact with the table of assignments, and specify your new one using the "Add input" popup menu. To add a command when in table view, click the Add button, interact with the table, and specify the input assignment from the popup menu labeled "None: edited." Then, press VO-Right-Arrow passed an empty cell to another popup menu, and choose the command you want your new input assignment to perform.transcript:Disclaimer: This transcript is generated by AIKO, an automated transcription service. In the wake of last year's Supreme Court decision to overturn affirmative action, certain media personalities and recalcitrant business leaders have falsely claimed that “DEI is dead.” This claim may very well be true for the businesses that were never serious about setting this work up to succeed. Yet, for businesses that want to remain relevant for the workforce and customers of the future, many are doubling down on their commitment. In fact, 75% of HR leaders believe DEI interventions are a crucial strategy to prepare for the future of work, which may be why 60% are increasing their DEI investments in 2024. While the demand for DEI interventions remains high, employers are seeking evidence and evaluation that these interventions are working. They want to know if the needle is moving in the direction of building healthier workplace cultures and diverse teams, which lead to better decisions, innovative ideas, business success, and even industry breakthroughs. So how do we design and evaluate the effectiveness of our work? Given the volatile, uncertain, and complex times we are living through, it's first important to ask better questions, starting with what kind of interventions does this current moment demand, and how can we link those interventions to our organization's broader strategic goals? Fortunately, McKensie Mack, founder of MMG Earth offers their insights on this episode of the Imagine Belonging Podcast.
