2022 has been a huge year for chef Brandi Artis. She's opened two restaurants and is planning a third one, and it's all thanks to the incredible welcome from the St. Louis community. Brandi hails from Kansas City, where she started her cooking journey. The journey took her to Chicago and eventually brought her to St. Louis. Her passion is breakfast and brunch. That's what you'll find as the focus of her restaurant Simply Delicious in Downtown. But she started at the City Foundry with 4 Hens Creole Kitchen. Her goal is to take those savory, comforting dishes you love but put a slightly healthy spin on them. We sat down at her downtown restaurant to talk about food, family and plans for the future.

Slightly Foxed Editors Gail and Hazel take us between the pages of the magazine, bookmarking articles along the way. Crack the spine of the quarterly to discover T. H. White taking flying lessons, smutty book titles, a passion for romantic ruins, John Berger shadowing a remarkable GP, a rebellious Mitford ‘rescued’ by a destroyer, a night to remember on the Titanic and much more besides. From correcting proofs to welcoming writers with a host of experiences, the story of putting together an issue of enthusiasms unfolds. And in this month’s reading from the archives, a hapless apprentice at the Hogarth Press recounts his disastrous stint with the Woolfs. Now that the hysteria surrounding E3 is over, the boys take a sober second look at the news that has come out of the expo, and Trevor eats crow when they review his Wii 2 predictions. They also review this summer's two big superhero movies, X-Men: First Class and Green Lantern. In the process, they realize how yummy the X-Men are, the fact that Kelsey Grammar is a dick, the fact that Kevin can make music with his face and neither can do a Snidely Whiplash impression, and that they need more time and KelC to do a proper DLC roundtable.
