This podcast is about all things food! Host Georgia Symonds welcomes a new guest into her kitchen every week in order to discuss food, wellness and how food really is mood. We believe that food isn’t just the fuel that we put into our bodies, it’s more than that, it brings families and friends together, it creates special moment and life time memories. It affects how we perform, how we think, how we sleep and how we feel in ourselves inside and out. Therefore Catch Ups In My Kitchen aims to dig into personal stories and career to discuss how food has had an impact on ones life. Hosted on Acast. This week in my kitchen, I'm joined by Catherine Farrant - mother of four and a passionate advocate for homeschooling, regenerative farming, organic food, and non-toxic beauty and skincare.Catherine is the founder of OSSA Organic and Fierce Nature, two sister brands built on the philosophy that simple, natural living is best. Citizens of Soil challenges this model by paying producers fairly and directly, supporting regenerative farming methods that nurture biodiversity and preserve soil health. This is olive oil as a community movement, where every bottle connects you not only to a beautiful ingredient, but also to the people and ecosystems that make it possible.Topics we discuss are:The health benefits of consuming good quality olive oil - why is olive oil better than a low cal spray? What does extra virgin olive oil mean? When some is looking at buying olive oil in a supermarket what should they be aware of?What is single origin?Cooking with olive oil - should we be aware of the heating temperature - is there a limit You've turned an every day commodity into a brand and a delicious and desirable product - how has that journey been? What's different about Citizens of soil?Working closely with the producers and what that looks like Sponsors:One Zone - The app that will change your London lifestyle, giving you all the recommendations you need for the best food and drink experiences in the cityDownload here Healthy Habits - Try mouth tape today and get 20% off your first purchase with code CATCHUPS20click hereThis episode was hosted and produced by Georgia SymondsGeorgia's Instagram - click here! For more information and other interesting articles check out our website: www.catchupsinmykitchen.com Hosted on Acast. This week in the kitchen, I'm joined by Matt McEntegart, founder of ROAM—a high-protein meat bar created to fill the gap between wanting a natural, wholefood snack and one that also delivers on macros, protein, and quality without artificial ingredients or added sugar. ROAM is built on the belief that the foundation of a healthy diet lies in meat, dairy, fruit, and vegetables—a refreshing perspective in today's world of ultra-processed foods. In this episode, Matt and I explore the role of meat in the diet, which made for a fascinating conversation given that I currently don't eat meat myself. While we come at the topic from different perspectives, we both strongly agree on the importance of a wholefood-based diet, as well as the value of eating seasonally and locally whenever possible.Beyond meat, our discussion also touches on the rising interest in the ancestral diet, the common misconceptions around whey protein, and whether buying organic food is truly worth it or just hype. Packed with nutritional insights and a few thought-provoking (and at times controversial) conversations, this episode is one you won't want to miss.Topics covered:Your journey to RoamFrustrations with the snack market Whey ProteinEating too much meatHigh cholesterolAncestral dietThe value of fibre in your dietA wholefood dietDairyInvesting in buying organiconezone - The app that will change your London lifestyle, giving you all the recommendations you need for the best food and drink experiences in the cityDownload here Healthy Habits - Try mouth tape today and get 20% off your first purchase with code CATCHUPS20click hereThis episode was hosted and produced by Georgia SymondsGeorgia's Instagram - click here! For more information and other interesting articles check out our website: www.catchupsinmykitchen.com Hosted on Acast. This week in my kitchen, I'm joined by Suzy Peach, GP and Co-Founder of Peach Wellness Academy (PWA)—a health and wellness curriculum designed to bridge the gap in wellness education for children, though it's accessible to all ages.Suzy shares insights from her medical practice, where she noticed a worrying trend: while access to information about health has never been easier, the quality of that information has declined. Despite being more “educated” than ever, many of us are misinformed, self-diagnosing, and relying on inaccurate sources.Peach Wellness Academy focuses on all aspects of wellness, with a particular emphasis on sexual health and mental health—two areas that are often misunderstood yet widely discussed. The curriculum is designed to complement school learning, not replace it, while also equipping parents with tools to answer the questions of today's curious minds. In an age where social media can be both a platform for knowledge and a breeding ground for misinformation, Suzy explains how her experiences as a GP inspired her to create a curriculum that helps children and families navigate health and wellbeing more confidently.Topics we discuss:What is wrong with health and wellness education amongst children at the moment? What is peach wellness academy The fundamental problems that girls are experiencing now as a result of lack of education from schools Female Health - we don't know enough - why?Mental Health and the self-diagnosing crisesModern day health and wellness - what we need to know has changed TikTok being a source of information Vaping - the damage that is having on young children To visit Peach Wellness Academy - click hereThis episode was hosted and produced by Georgia SymondsGeorgia's Instagram - click here! For more information and other interesting articles check out our website: www.catchupsinmykitchen.com Hosted on Acast. In my kitchen this week, I'm joined by the lovely Olivia Breirley to dive deep into the world of cycle syncing and her inspiring journey to pregnancy while managing endometriosis, PCOS, and adenomyosis. In this raw, honest, and empowering chat, Olivia shares how being told she might never have children led her to completely rethink how she approached her body, her health, and her hormones. She opens up about how working with her cycle — instead of against it — became the game-changer in her pregnancy journey. One area that Olivia and I deep dive into is seed cycling and how it's a natural way of regulating your hormones due to the nutrients and lignans in these seeds helping regulate estrogen and progesterone levels. Below we have explained how you can seed cycle:Follicular Phase (Day 1–14)(From the first day of your period to ovulation)Seeds to eat:1 tablespoon of ground flaxseeds1 tablespoon of ground pumpkin seeds These seeds are rich in lignans and omega-3s, which can help support estrogen production and metabolism. They also contain zinc, which is great for egg quality and overall reproductive health.Luteal Phase (Day 15–28)(From ovulation to the start of your next period)Seeds to eat:1 tablespoon of ground sunflower seeds1 tablespoon of ground sesame seedsWhy: These seeds help support healthy progesterone levels. Sunflower seeds are high in vitamin E and selenium, which support progesterone production, while sesame seeds contain lignans that can help modulate estrogen levels if they get too high in this phase. The other topics we dive into are: Olivia's journey and experience with endometriosis, PCOS and adenomyosisThe power of cycle syncing and how you used it to change your fertility trajectoryThe effects of hormonal contraception, particularly the pill, on your cycle and fertility — and Olivia's honest, thoughtful views on it after years of navigating it herselfSocieties impossible expectations of women vs the reality Why understanding and connecting with your cycle is so empowering, whether you're trying to conceive or simply want to feel better, more balanced, and in tune with your bodyWellness non-negotiable that have helped you deal with endometriosis and PCOSThis episode is a beautiful reminder of how powerful our cycles are, and how making small, intentional shifts to support your hormones can change everything.Whether you're currently dealing with hormonal issues, curious about natural contraception options, or wanting to learn how to better support your body through every phase — this one's for you.Sponsors:This episode is sponsored by Tea Huggers - you can check out their delicious range of blended tea hereCatchups15 - will give you 15% off all Tea Hugger purchases at check out This episode was hosted and produced by Georgia SymondsGeorgia's Instagram - click here! For more information and other interesting articles check out our website: www.catchupsinmykitchen.com Hosted on Acast. In my kitchen this week I am joined by Georgia Meacham who was born deaf and wears two hearing aids. Ten years ago this wouldn't have been the first sentence used to describe Georgia, instead it would have been the fact that she is also a model and an actor, whilst also advocating for the Vegan diet and lifestyle. However, Georgia used to hide the fact that she was deaf due to the fact that she thought she would fit in, have a better chance of being chosen for modelling and acting jobs and have a better chance in relationships if she hid her hearings aids. This resulted in constant stress and anxiety and put her at a disadvantage where she wasn't getting the help she needed.Everything changed when she decided to embrace her deafness, own her story, and advocate for others in similar situations. In this episode, we dive into the powerful shift from resisting a label to reclaiming it as a strength. Georgia opens up about how, for most of her life, she didn't want to be defined by her deafness—she just wanted to be “normal.” But now, she sees it as a source of empowerment, shaping her journey in ways she never imagined. This is such an inspiring episode that I think your going to love! The topics we discuss are:You were born deaf - what did that mean for you growing up?Some of the challenges at school and making friends Speech - how has this been affected - what did you do growing up to help this Opening up about your disability - what did that look like before you opened up and what does it look like now?The concept of being defined by a situation and letting a situation define youThe daily struggles of being deaf and what that looks likeSpeaking in parliamentNavigating loud social situations Discrimination - have you ever felt discriminated against?RelationshipsYour vegan - have you always been vegan? What does wellness mean to you? This episode was hosted and produced by Georgia SymondsGeorgia's Instagram - click here!To follow Georgia Meacham head here For more information and other interesting articles check out our website: www.catchupsinmykitchen.com Hosted on Acast.
