Throughout the history of the church, there has been a tendency to fall into different ditches of emphasis. During the medieval times, singleness was celebrated, and religious movements were dedicated to convents and monasteries. But those days are far in the past of the church. Our current services and church social events are set up to cater to married couples and parents. So much so that I've heard from several single friends that they don't feel like there is space made for them in the church! What has made the church a notoriously difficult place to be single? Have we made marriage a cultural idol? What are some proactive things you've learned to do to make space for yourself in a body of faith? What is dating like for Christian singles in 2025?How do people hold on to the fun and hope in dating? What inspired you to start “Single Purpose League?”What would you like to say to encourage other Single Christians today? What would you encourage married people to do or change in order to be more inviting? You can find "Single Purpose League" here and Annie F Downs on Instagram You can find Elizabeth writing helpful hints on the blogHelping you love Jesus and disciple your kids on Instagram Or get access to the Additional study resources hereOriginal Music written and recorded by Jonathan Camenisch *affiliate links are used when appropriate. Let's talk about the christian and single experience! Why does it seem like dating in the world was easier, christian dog years, idolizing marriage and the revelations I got in my singleness.
Single Christians may be tempted to despair over missing the experience of marital love. But God himself will see to it that our joy is eternally full in Christ.

A listener has emailed in his dilemma off the back of our recent series of episodes: His small evangelical church teaches a traditional Christian message on relationships and marriage, yet offers single members like him no opportunities to meet like-minded women. Is it OK for him to turn to dating apps to fish in a deeper pool, or are the apps unavoidably commodifying his sisters in Christ and conforming him to secular cultural ethics on relationships? Then, we ponder a recent news story about AI robocalls in the United States trying to interfere in the presidential election and wonder what may be coming down the track as this technology gets rapidly better and easier to deploy. For some many have said that being single with faith could be a challange. This could be for a number of reasons. However it appears that their are more single women than men attending church. Church should not be a dating place. However a question has been in the minds of some as to if the church is keeping women single? Join myself and others as we address this concern. In a digital culture, should Christians use dating apps? Is it better to stay single or should we be looking for spouses? Join us for a conversation about singleness and what the Bible has to say about it.

Perhaps one of the greatest fears single Christians face is the fear of being alone forever. Some of us fear being alone as we contemplate the possibility of growing lonely, old, and sick. In our latest episode tackling some questions from listeners, we begin by thinking about whether it should matter if influential theologians and Christian writers had personal moral failings, and whether we can separate out someone's theological work from their own sins. Then we move on to a question from an unmarried listener who would like children and is wondering if adoption should be an open option for her. - Subscribe to the Matters of Life and Death podcast: https://pod.link/1509923173 - If you want to go deeper into some of the topics we discuss, visit John's website: http://www.johnwyatt.com - For more resources to help you explore faith and the big questions, visit: http://www.premierunbelievable.com

After listening to an episode on dating, created by "30 Minutes with the Perry's", I decided to break down how singles misunderstand the dating process as Christians and what mistakes we need to avoid. For one, we should be careful of our motives in dating and pursuing missionary dating. The journey of the Perfectionist to the altar can be a long one. Today, I'm talking about the standards a perfectionist has for a man and how it can slow down her progress toward marriage. I truly believe perfectionism is a blind spot many Christians have. Single Christians always want to pursue godly qualities in their search for an amazing Christian man, but what if you're actually being a perfectionist with perfectionistic expectations in your search for the “perfect” husband? Tune in and share especially if you think your standards and attractions are erring on the side of perfectionism. Single Christians are not broken. They are not in need of fixing. You are not “less than” or incomplete just because you are not married. Single Christians are followers of the most complete, most perfect person who ever walked the face of the earth. And, by the way, He was single.
On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we got a fresh update on the prayer needs of the entertainment industry. Single Christians often feel like third-wheels in the church but our guest reminded us that they too have a vital role to play in God’s family. Times are changing rapidly and traditional Christianity is no longer looked at as a good influence on our society and world. We helped you understand this seismic shift and how to stand firm in your faith against it. The spotlight was put on what true freedom in Christ from the gay lifestyle really looks like. For those who feel stuck and stagnant in their spiritual walk, our guests offered practical guidance to take the next steps forward to grow and prosper in our your faith. Once again Janet and Craig anchors us to God’s truth as they put a magnifying glass to news of the week.
Christmas is a time for church communities to gather together, but sometimes single Christians can unintentionally be sidelined. Reverend Dr Dani Treweek has examined the experience of singleness in the church. We also look at a new book about just how important women have been in the life of the church. We hear from Rev Keith Garner, retiring CEO of the Wesley Mission. And meet the Anglican priest known as “Fighting Father Dave”.
We've officially entered Autumn and it's cuffing season. Almost everywhere you look online you will find memes associated with cuffing season. People are looking for ways to settle down through the cold months and holidays. And while it seems like a harmless social media trend that people have fun with, some Christians adamantly oppose cuffing season as a hook-up holiday. So, in today's podcast, Jessica is going to challenge you to consider multiple interpretations of cuffing season. She's going to talk about the pros and cons of participating – if that's such a thing – and remind you that this season, like all others, is in God's hands. Besides, if you want to be in a partnership that leads to marriage, you need to be open to unexpected things happening in unexpected ways, and cuffing season may just be one of those ways Some Themes in This Podcast Include: Overview of cuffing season, when it happens, and what it means to participate. Is cuffing season really a thing to be concerned about. Multiple interpretations of cuffing season by exploring its good, bad, and ugly aspects. The importance of following your personal convictions and the leading of the Holy Spirit when considering whether to “participate” in cuffing season. There's a lot of talk [ah-boat] pornography these days. Christian author and blogger, Tim Challies, even calling it “the primary pastoral issue of the church”. Tim lends insights from his pastoral perspective and the call to fight this particular lust of the flesh by seeking holiness. In the wider world, pornography can be excused as just part of being a man, but that view isn't one the Church holds. If you're a pastor, or training to be one, you will inevitably face shepherding sheep who fall to this darkness and its many lies. The Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals would like to offer you a free MP3 download entitled Biblical Sexuality for Married and Single Christians by Tim Geiger.

Tonight in the talkback lounge we are talking about the dilemma single christian women face in finding a life partner. Should these women actively pursue a partner or do they wait for God to bring that person to them? The ratio of single women in the church to single men is about 7 women to One man. So for single christian men going to church must be close to sitting in a sweet shop full of candy bars. If you are overlooked again and again, what are the chances that you will find your Boaz when the odds are so stacked against you? Join Ebony and Jaz in the Talkback lounge and let's chop it up. They are to find support and strength from the community of the people of God. Serving God While Single | Relationships | Sermon Outline
