Welcome back to Episode 178 of 'Another Great Day,' where we mix laughter with learning for the whole family! Today, Aaron, Chris, and Wes dive into a world of tissue paper – not just for gifts and runny noses, but for creative crafting, too. Then, we debate the pros and cons of early morning enthusiasm. Are you a morning person like Aaron, or more like Chris who prefers a quieter start? Next, we're thrilled to have a very special guest, Ham the Space Chimp! Join us as we celebrate the 57th anniversary of Ham's historic space flight with some out-of-this-world questions. From rocket rides to space snacks, Ham shares his interstellar insights. Our 'Question of the Day' takes this cosmic theme further: If you could safely send one animal to space, which would it be? Or, what song would you choose to wake up to every morning? We also share a dad joke that's sure to tickle your funny bone, and a wise word from Proverbs about early morning greetings. Perfect for families on the go, this episode is a delightful mix of space exploration, humor, and thoughtful conversation. Don't forget to rate, review, and share us on your socials – every bit helps us bring more fun to families like yours. Let's make today another great day, and see you again tomorrow! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/anothergreatday/message
Back by popular demand, it's SPIN THE CHIMP time! A couple idiots on a podcast are streaming a sequel episode today on Malgor, surrounded by Freznar, Fluvians, Globhoppers, and chimps, so that can only mean one thing... we are continuing the "Space Chimps" franchise after Seth's heroic rating of 10/10 last year on the first film. Join us as we dive back into the a world of astronaut monkeys, but this time without several main voice actors, and instead centering on the 6th or 7th most important character from the first film. Oh and for some odd reason, we can't stop talking about "The Star Wars Holiday Special" again. Was it a good idea for the writers to give Titan PTSD in this film? Why are the Italians so mad at the moon that they are creating rockets now? And what would be another great catchphrase for Donald Trump to use on the hit television show "The Apprentice"? Tune in this week to find out all this and more, but only on "The Good, The Bad, & The Movies"! P.S. Join us this week as we wax lyrical about all the games we have been playing from RollerDrome to ShardPunk with a splash of Midnight Suns in the mix. Spoilers for the history for No Man's Sky but it is well telegraphed.
Goodness Gracious this is one divisive movie! On a recommendation from Brandon's mother, we decided to finally watch "Drop Dead Fred" this week, and we have not had a more divisive film since "Space Chimps" and "The Cat in the Hat". This movie is about a woman who loses everything in life: her husband, her car, and her job. After all these events, she moves back in with her mom where she then comes face to face with her childhood imaginary friend, Drop Dead Fred. These two end up destroying everything in their path with childlike humor and pranks to make Elizabeth happy and get her back together with her husband. Did Elizabeth need her husband back or was Fred what she needed all along? What is a normal houseboat? And what is the new '3rd base' these days? Tune in to find out all this and more, but only on "The Good, The Bad, & The Movies"! P.S. Check out these links below. Oh boy! If you liked "The Cat in the Hat" episode, you are in for a treat here, as this is one polarizing film. This week, the space sluts watched "Space Chimps". This animated movie follows several chimps from NASA and one circus chimp who is the grandson of a former NASA chimp, heading off into space and through a wormhole to encounter alien life that an unmanned probe has found. Along the way, these chimps realize the importance of friendships, trust, and the reality of animals working for humans. Sadly, the space sluts did not realize these things with such grace and dignity within our own group. This episode has everything, from Lukas drinking beers brought to you by Cold Stone, conversations about AIDS and the Casting Society of America, and what Gabagool actually is. Do the chimps actually discover alien life? What is a ham horn? And would a chimp make a good bomb defuser in Iraq? Tune in to find out all these questions and more, but only on "The Good, The Bad, & The Movies"! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/tgtbtm/message

Welcome director Kirk DeMicco for the new animated film Vivo. We chat about balancing visuals and music in a musical film, life regrets, cookies, and career trajectories. More about Vivo: Vivo follows a one-of-kind kinkajou (aka a rainforest “honey bear,” voiced by Miranda), who spends his days playing music to the crowds in a lively Havana square with his beloved owner Andrés (Buena Vista Social Club's Juan de Marcos). Though they may not speak the same language, Vivo and Andrés are the perfect duo through their common love of music. But when tragedy strikes shortly after Andrés receives a letter from the famous Marta Sandoval (three-time Grammy-winning Latin pop legend Gloria Estefan), inviting her old partner to her farewell concert in Miami with the hope of reconnecting, it's up to Vivo to deliver a message that Andrés never could: A love letter to Marta, written long ago, in the form of a song. Yet in order to get to the distant shores of Miami, Vivo will need to accept the help of Gabi (newcomer Ynairaly Simo) – an energetic tween who bounces to the beat of her own offbeat drum. More about Kirk: In 2017, Kirk was a creative consultant on Sony Pictures Animation's “The Star.” Prior to joining Sony Pictures Animation, Kirk wrote and co-directed DreamWorks Animation's “The Croods,” which was nominated for the 2013 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. He made his directorial debut in 2008 with VanGuard Animation's “Space Chimps,” which he also wrote. In addition to many writing credits in both TV and film, Kirk has been fortunate enough to adapt the work of many of his writing heroes such as: Roald Dahl, Jack Kirby and Elmore Leonard, and had the great opportunity to co-write two scripts with comedy legend John Cleese. Kirk was born and raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey and attended University of Southern California where he graduated in 1991 with a degree in economics and political science. He then spent three years in Italy as a journalist for an Italian film-business magazine before moving back to the United States to work for the William Morris Agency in New York City and Los Angeles. Some men just want to watch the world burn, and some just want to listen to Pierce Brosnan and Meryl Streep sing Abba! It's July 18, 2008 and the boys are zipping up their sequin jumpsuits, donning their masks and taking a chance on THE DARK KNIGHT, MAMMA MIA!, and SPACE CHIMPS. Episode 56 of Opening Weekend is the podcast Gotham deserves!“Mamma Mia, here I go again. Batman, how can I resist you? Mamma Mia, Space Chimps blow again. Why, why? Joker, can I kiss you?” In July of 2008, while Christian Bale's Dark Knight was learning how to deal with an agent of chaos smeared in white face-paint, new daddy, Fred, was learning how to deal with an agent of chaos smeared in white butt-cream. And just as Jason and Dan were putting down their artistic roots in the most unlikely of places, the entire cast of “Mamma Mia!” were letting out their artistic “toots” in all of our faces. And by “toots” we mean “farts.” And by “farts” we mean “Pierce Brosnan's singing voice.” SOS indeed. And no, that's not the state-of-the-art 1985 animation stylings of a Dire Straits video, it's the 1983 state-of-the art animation stylings of “Space Chimps!” All this and so much more on Episode 56 of Opening Weekend! Oh, see that girl, watch that scene, get me some more butt-creeeeeam!Â

Boy howdy. It's a wild one folks and we refused to be constrained be it by the movie or by proper podcasting etiquette, as we watched Space Chimps 2: Zartog Strikes Back this week. In terms of on topic discussion, we learned how many chimps have made it into space and in terms of off topic discussion we talk about fidget spinners! We also have the debut of not only the hottest new segment in the podcasting game, but also the newest and most widely beloved character we have created yet: Weirdest Al. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the comedy fireworks!
Our duo takes a look at the infamous sequel that no one asked for, terrible animation, out of place innuendos and more cutaway gags than Family Guy, this doozy crams tonnes of bull in a mere 76 minutes. Oh and someone who worked on this also worked on Shrek, probably just made coffee for Mike Myers or something
Jack and Geoff are joined by Kevin Young for a bonus ape-isode examination of Space Chimps! This heretofore-unknown 2008 animated “hit” has a solid voice cast and references things as diverse as 2001, Californian geography and the Macarena, but is it any good? Give a listen, chimp outside the bun and find out!
It's Andy Samberg week on Saturday Night Jive and we are doing our civic duty by practicing social distancing so we recorded an episode over Skype. Sorry if the sound quality isn't up to our usual standards but if there was anything we could do that was dumber than watching Space Chimps and talking about it for an hour it's watching Space Chimps and talking about it for an hour over Skype. This animated tale from 2008 stars Andy Samberg, Cheryl Hines and Patrick Warburton as monkeys sent to space to track down a rover that has fallen into the hands of an evil alien voiced by Jeff Daniels. It's a real stupid movie and way shittier than we ever expected. The animation is gross to look at, the script consists almost entirely of monkey puns, and Kristen Chenowith voices a singing light bulb head alien who gets pooped out by a monster. Also featuring SNL alum Kenan Thompson, this movie sucks almost as much as being quarantined with coronavirus. Enjoy!Download Here
The gang is all here, coming at you on another Thursday, you're welcome! Denny, Vinny, Bern, and Hunter talk news concerning Joker, Star Wars, and the triumphant return of Spider-Man (no not Spider-Man 4). Then Denny and Vinny break down and spoil the disappointing poopoo movie Ad Astra about searching for your dad in space or something.... Then Joker movie companion! King of Comedy, Taxi Driver (Taxi Man?), and Night Crawler are your choices, take it or leave it! Uhhhhh then recommendations, but nothing was really recommended... Oh, we recommend staying away from 14 year old's. moviesmakethmen@gmail.com
This week, we try to figure out how anyone was cast in 2008's Space Chimps, a movie that manages to take 30 minutes of content and stretch it to 90 with no increase in story elements. Space Chimps is available on Amazon Prime, if you're really that curious about what the terrible aliens look like (it's not good.) Follow us on twitter at @animatedopino2, if you want more of our awful opinions!
