Politics month comes to a merciful close with an ABC made-for-tv feature from 1999 called "Swing Vote" (not the Kevin Costner one). Stop me if you've heard this one, but in this film, Roe vs. Wade is overturned and newly appointed justice Andy Garcia is the crucial swing vote on deciding what happens to a woman's right to choose now that individual states are deciding what's legal and what isn't. You know, an interesting "what if" from a quarter century ago, yeah? Right? *sigh* Anyway, we start Christmas movies next week. Listen in, how about? ABOUT TV MOVIE NIGHT: TV Movie Night is a podcast featuring TV what-have-yous Andrew Krukowski and Mark Gonzales diving into the retro world of made-for-tv movies. Each episode spotlights one of these forgotten "classics" (and sometimes without the scare-quotes classics), enjoying cinema on the small screen an episode at a time. Past episodes include landmark films like "The Day After," lost gems like "The Night of the Scarecrow," and odder fare like "Single Santa Seeks Mrs. Claus." Email us at tvmovienightpodcast@gmail.com.

Burly and The Backstabbers take the stage, the future of the Pawnee Palms Putt-Putt hangs in the balance, and Tom tries everything to break up with Mona-Lisa. Jim O'Heir and Greg Levine break it all down in this week's episode of “Swing Vote.” Plus, actor Andrew Burlinson joins Jim and Greg to discuss his role as Mouse Rat's guitar player, his early days as a Blue Man, and the perks that come along with being Mike Schur's “nepo baby.” Got a question for the Pawnee Town Hall? This week Sara is joined by actor, musician, and nap ninja Charles Esten. The two discuss Sara's short lived acting career as a guest star on the show Nashville with Charles and how Charles embraces his characters as an actor. Charles not only shares stories about his acting career, but he also dives into how music was always a dream of his. Charles proves that he is not just another actor who wants to sing. About Charles: Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Charles "Chip" Esten was raised in Alexandria, VA and attended T.C. Williams High School (made famous in the film "Remember the Titans.") He then attended The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, where he graduated with a degree in economics and met his wife, Patty. While in Williamsburg, he was lead singer/songwriter in a popular local band. Esten made his theatrical debut in London when he portrayed Buddy Holly, singing, acting and playing guitar in the hit West End musical "Buddy." In that role he was honored to perform for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, and eventually President and Mrs. George H.W. Bush at The White House. He was also very honored to perform with Jerry Allison and Joe B. Mauldin, Buddy's original hitmaking bandmates, the Crickets. It was during his run as Buddy that Esten first appeared on the original British version of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?," with Ryan Stiles and Greg Proops. When "Whose Line" came to ABC, he became a recurring cast member and frequent song improvisor. Since then he has appeared on Drew Carey's Improvaganza and toured frequently, performing live improv shows with Stiles, Proops and Jeff B. Davis. Esten's many early television credits include recurring roles on "Big Love," "Enlightened," "The Office" and "ER." Besides being the father on Disney Channel's "Jessie," he has been a Klingon on "Star Trek: The Next Generation," a secretary on "Murphy Brown" and Kelly Bundy's fiance on the series finale of "Married with Children." His film credits include "Swing Vote," "Thirteen Days," "61*" and "The Postman." Surpassing 21 million streams for his music to date, Esten is a 2018 Guinness World Records title holder for the "Most consecutive weeks to release an original digital single by a music act" after delivering 54 original songs once a week for 54 straight weeks. Live from Pawnee: A Parks and Recreation Fan Rewatch Podcast
This week Mark and Allen break down the Episode where we are first introduced to the possibility of a Knope Recall! Ron has proposed the city cut its funding to the Pawnee Palms Public Putt-Putt (a.k.a. "the Pawnee Palms", a.k.a. "the PPPPP", a.k.a. "the Quintuple-P"). Leslie disagrees with Ron, and tries to make sure the city council votes against it. Unfortunately, the council is locked at 2–2, with Councilman Jamm as the proverbial "swing vote". To this end, Leslie invites Jamm to the Quintuple-P for a night of mini golf. Predicting this move, Ron meets them there, not to play, but just to remind Jamm how much taxpayer money is spent each year on this place. Leslie, on the other hand, panders to Jamm's juvenile side, supplies him with snow cones and balloons, and reminds him how fun the Quintuple-P is. Enjoying the attention, Jamm decides to make Ron and Leslie play 9 holes against each other, and whoever wins, gets Jamm's vote. Meanwhile, when Ben, April and Andy have a celebratory drink at Paladino's Bar, Andy is shocked to find out Mouse Rat is playing without him (under the name "Rat Mouse"), performing songs he wrote. When Andy confronts Burly and Chang, they explain they called him numerous times over a number of weeks to try and get him to come to rehearsals, but when he never showed or responded, they still really wanted to play so they continued on without him. In response to this betrayal, Andy comes to the conclusion that he is going to retire from music and performs one final solo swan song, that night, on stage, to bid farewell to his career. Finally, having grown tired of his crazy, uncontrollable, and sometimes dangerously unpredictable girlfriend Mona-Lisa, Tom finally acts like an adult ... and asks Ann to break up with Mona-Lisa for him. Ann reluctantly agrees, but this ends up backfiring ... I mean, sure, Mona-Lisa DOES break up with Tom, but then she conscripts Ann as her bestie, focusing her "laser beams of crazy" on her instead. Desperate to find a way out of this situation, Ann insists Tom help her, who resorts to kissing Ann in front of Mona-Lisa as a guise for ending the friendship. This only makes things worse as Mona-Lisa takes this as them asking her for a threesome. As always, we tackle the tough questions, such as ... Who will win the mini-golf contest, Leslie or Ron? Will this be Andy's final swan song? Will Ann and Tom be sucked into a threesome with Mona-Lisa, or can they escape with their sanity? Will Jamm honor the contest results, or will he vote however he wants? What will Andy do with his life after he retires from music? Is Mona-Lisa's breakup with Tom permanent, or just a temporary respite? If the Quintuple-P closes, what will happen to Mr. Fuzzy-Face the gorilla? Does Andy make good nachos or not? Exactly how crazy IS Mona-Lisa? Loyal podcast viewers, this is the penultimate episode - tune in and let's finish this season strong! This Week: The Shark 102.3 got the opportunity to talk to Marshall Tucker Band lead singer, Doug Gray about their 5oth Anniversary Tour. Doug called in from Florida to talk about how the tour is going and about their upcoming concert in Huntsville, AL. Nashville, Tenn. (Nov. 16, 2021) — In 2022, the TheMarshall Tucker Band (MTB) will celebrate five decades since its inception. To celebrate, the multi-platinum southern rock group will hit the road for its historic “50th Anniversary Tour.” The MTB today revealed over 30 live concert dates with stops in Clearwater, Fla., Atlanta, Ga., Nashville, Tenn., Detroit, Mich., Chicago, Ill., New York, N.Y., Pittsburgh, Pa., Washington D.C., Phoenix, Ariz. and more. “Five decades of The Marshall Tucker Band … sometimes it's still hard to understand,” says MTB lead singer Doug Gray. “We are just regular people. The fans have given us so many special moments over these 50 years. I'm so proud of our band.” In 1972, original members Toy Caldwell,Tommy Caldwell, Doug Gray, Jerry Eubanks, George McCorkle and Paul Riddle came together in Spartanburg, S.C. to form a southern rock band. They knew they had the magic for something that could reach people well beyond the South Carolina state line. They had the sound, the look, and the camaraderie. Problem was, they didn't have a name. One day while rehearsing in a local warehouse, they came across a key ring with the inscription, ‘Marshall Tucker.' It belonged to a blind piano tuner who resided in Spartanburg. It was this fated discovery that inspired the band's moniker, and in that moment, The Marshall Tucker Band was born. Dave Mason will join the legendary group on select live concert dates. “I'm really looking forward to joining the 50th anniversary celebration of this extraordinary band,” says Mason. “I've been waiting to get back on the road, and this is quite the opportunity to bring great music to everybody, everywhere.” “Our special songs, guided by the lyrics of Toy Caldwell, have given us a deep emotional connection with our fans and friends,” adds Gray. “We love you all and can't wait to see you on the road in 2022.” The tour officially kicks-off on Jan. 12 at the Dosey Doe in The Woodlands, TX. Shreya and Jacob talk about the 2008 Kevin Costner political goof-em-up. Is Bud Johnson alpha? Why is Donald Greenleaf such a pushover? Why are so many TV news people in this? Republicans! Democrats! Voters! Who wins? Who loses? You decide. Kinda. Also we talk a little about the presidential election that's happening as you listen... or slightly after you listen... or maybe before... exciting stuff... This criminally overlooked Capra-esque picture features one of the most underrated Kevin Costner performances and some of my personal favorite patriotic melodrama in modern cinema. I really hope you check it out, but more importantly I really hope you vote on the 3rd.
