In this episode, we talk about how to write simple, meaningful thank-you notes that strengthen connection and leave the recipient and the writer feeling good. We cover when to write a thank-you note, what to include, and how to keep your message genuine and focused so that the meaning is sincere and felt. A thank-you note is a little reminder that others matter, that they made a meaningful contribution, and it doesn't have to be perfectly written to make a difference. What does real success look like when you're trying to stay grounded as a Ben Torah? In this episode of Shtark Tank, I sat down with Laizer Kornwasser — CEO of DrFirst, professor at Yeshiva University, and Chairman of NCSY — for a wide-ranging conversation about ambition, pressure, leadership, and the Torah ideas that shape how we show up at work and in life.Laizer shares stories from investment banking and the C-suite, including how he learned to earn his “seat at the table” through facts, results, and humility. We talk about drawing clear lines when work clashes with Shabbos, why most people aren't cut out for investment banking, and how to define success in a way that protects your priorities. Then we shift into a deep dive on the Altar of Slabodka: Gadlus HaAdam, EQ vs IQ, gratitude, and the power of seeing each person as an individual with real potential. And yes — we get into the now-famous practice: why Laizer handwrites 1,000 New Year's cards and sends personal thank-you messages one-by-one, and what it teaches about hakaras hatov, relationships, and leadership. In this episode, we cover:Why investment banking is “not cut out for most people”What “success” really means when you're trying to grow in YiddishkeitThe importance of knowing your line in the sand (and not crossing it)A real story: a CEO tried to push Shabbos boundaries — and Laizer's response“Facts, not emotion”: how to communicate with different personalitiesThe Altar of Slabodka's approach to building people, not just teaching TorahEQ as a Jewish leadership skill, not just a business buzzwordWhy Laizer sends personal thank-yous instead of mass messagesChesed that actually changes you (not just “check-writing”)If you got value from this episode, please take 10 seconds to subscribe and leave a 5-star rating — it helps more people find the show.

Send us a text2025 was full—beautiful, exhausting, and deeply shaping. In this episode, I'm sharing the biggest lessons I'm carrying forward: staying peaceful without joining the chaos, boundaries as love in action, listening to the body as wisdom, loving people without suffering for them, strengthening discernment, and remembering that being is doing.I also offer a simple 6-prompt “Thank You Note to 2025” you can use as a quick, heart-led year-end ritual—written, spoken, or felt.Want a deeper dive on loving boundaries? Listen to “The Ape & the Chair” (Season 2, Episode 17) to hear from Veyra, Guardian of Boundaries.6 Prompts for an easy thank you note/release:Dear 2025, the moment I thank you for most is ______.The strength I discovered in myself was ______.The part of me that healed/returned home was ______.The love I received (and gave) looked like ______.The truth I'm carrying into 2026 is ______.The way my body tried to love me this year was ______.If something resonates, share this episode with a friend who needs a gentle way to close the year—and leave a review if Picture Love has supported your heart. From my heart to yours: keep picturing love.

It's a beautiful way to end the year. Then, if you want to Process 2025 even deeper, the Processing 2025 episode is now available on From the Heart everywhere you listen to podcasts. In today's episode, we're stepping into the lost art of thank-you's — and the Real Simple advice column that sparked quite the conversation. After a woman wrote in wondering why her nephew never acknowledged a generous monetary gift, the columnists told her not to take it personally… because "life is busy." But is life truly too busy for basic graciousness? Inside this episode, we explore: why being acknowledged matters more than we admit how modern culture has confused convenience with connection what etiquette actually is (hint: not rules — but relational beauty) simple, elegant ways to bring gratitude back into your daily life This isn't about rigid formality or perfection. It's about presence, refinement, and the tiny rituals that make life feel more lovely. And stay until the end for today's Little Gem: I read a cherished handwritten letter from a friend — a reminder of how meaningful real acknowledgment can be — plus a special teaser for my upcoming YouTube episode, where I'll show you the room in my home wallpapered entirely in thank-you cards. If you're craving a return to grace, connection, and everyday elegance, this episode is for you.
