Today, Hunter was joined once again by Dawn Deaner, Executive Director of the Choosing Justice Initiative and a candidate for Davidson County Judge Criminal Court Division III. Dawn and Hunter discussed some major changes to the legal system in Tennessee that make it easier for the state to incarcerate people pre- and post-trial. La această întrebare răspund Bianca Oanea și Maria Angele în cadrul unui webinar organizat de Centrul pentru Jurnalism Independent  (CJI), „Ce vede copilul tău online. Deconstrucție și mesaj la clasă și acasă”, ce va avea loc în 26 martie, de la ora 19.00. Cît din ceea ce vede un copil online este rezultatul propriilor opțiuni și cît este decis de algoritmi? Ce facem pentru copii ca să nu cadă victime ale mesajelor de propagandă, rasiste, conspiraționiste? Le-am întrebat pe Bianca Oanea, expertă media la CJI, şi Maria Angele, care a participat ca voluntară la o cercetare realizată de Asociația pentru Tehnologie și Internet, privind sistemele de recomandare ale rețelelor sociale in context electoral. Maria Angele, pentru studiul realizat de Asociația pentru Tehnologie și Internet ţi-ai creat conturi pe rețelele de socializare, în perioada alegerilor prezidențiale din 2025, cu un profil setat la vîrsta de 16 ani, sex masculin. Cum a fost această experiență, ce fel de conținut a primit acest profil?Maria Angele: „Toate platformele de social media fac bani din reclame și vor să te țină cît mai mult acolo, prin scroll infinit, autoplay și prin provocarea de emoții puternice. Și asta am văzut eu, stînd pe contul de băiat de 16 ani: conținutul care-mi apărea în feed-uri era polarizant, alarmist, astfel încît să mă facă să am niște emoții foarte puternice, pe care da, le-am și avut. (...) După acest experiment, am rămas cu ideea că algoritmii nu sînt democratici. Eu mi-am exprimat interesele, adică dădusem follow unor conturi despre gaming și despre educație. Algoritmul n-a ținut cont de interesele mele. Asta n-a fost valabil doar pentru contul de minor, ci și pentru conturile celorlalți voluntari care au strîns date pentru acest studiu, care erau toate conturi cu vîrsta peste 18 ani. Pentru nici unul dintre noi dezbaterea online n-a fost echitabilă sau echilibrată. Pentru nici unul dintre noi nu s-a respectat liniștea electorală. Da, vorbim despre minori și despre tineri, dar ăsta e un lucru care se întîmplă pe mai toate conturile, indiferent de vîrsta pe care o declarăm.”Copiii nu pot fi ținuți departe de rețelele sociale. Dar cum îi protejăm, totuși? Ce facem să nu cadă victime ale mesajelor de propagandă, rasiste, conspiraționiste...?Bianca Oanea: „Vorbim cu ei. Şi vorbim în toate aspectele vieții. Noi avem cea mai mare încredere în profesori, pentru că profesorii din programul de educație media sînt o resursă extraordinar de valoroasă pentru Centrul pentru Jurnalism Independent și pentru educație, în general. Vedem cum se schimbă felul în care fac lucrurile. Proiectul a început de la copiii care făceau cu colegele mele ateliere despre jurnalism, educație civică și care au spus mergeți cu lucrurile astea și la profesorii noștri că și ei ar trebui să le știe. Acum avem vreo 10.000 de profesori care le știu și care le duc la clasă. Dar vin și profesorii și spun ar trebui să știe și părinții. Şi într-adevăr ar trebui să acționăm pe toate palierele. Să vorbim, să atragem atenția și să ne punem întrebări. Pentru că, a spus Maria, semnalul de alarmă sînt emoțiile. Momentul în care îmi provoacă o emoție, trebuie să îmi pun o întrebare. De ce văd conținutul ăsta? Cine e cel care mi-l livrează? De ce? La ce face apel din mine cînd văd asta? Învățăm să ne punem întrebări. Copiii sînt vulnerabili. Noi sîntem vulnerabili, ca adulți. Noi, la CJI, avem mare încredere în profesori. The Supreme Court Monday stayed the Delhi High Court order passed last week suspending the life sentence awarded to former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar for raping a minor in Unnao in 2017. Concurring with the arguments of Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, the CJI observed that it was concerned with the HC's interpretation of the law on who qualifies to be a public servant under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.

This week, Maine and Miranda preview the upcoming WNO 31 night of champions we discussed all of the matchups on the main card and breakdown our picks for who will win and retain the titles at Who is Number One.We kick off the show discussing the main event Felipe Pena vs. Luke Griffith we talk about their first two matchups where Pena has been able to submit Luke every time. We talked about their first match up at ADCC 2024 and then again in CJI 2 we talk about some of the stylistic approaches that Luke may take in this trilogy matchup and how his camp is one of the best in the world to deal with Felipe specifically. We also discuss Pena's game and how it has been effective every single time that you have matched up. In the main event, we discussed the matchup between Diego "Pato" Oliveira vs Deandre Corbe. We discussed their most recent matchup that was a somewhat controversial win for Deandre at Sapatero via a judges decision, we discussed some of the strategies in the matches, and how potentially a fired up Pato could potentially put up a pace that alone allows him to win a judges decision in the WNO format. In the featherweight title match between Helena Crevar and Julia Boscher, we discussed the recent outstanding run that Helena has been on winning both the women's division at CJI2, and staking her claim as one of the best women in the world we discussed the difference in ranking leading up to this match, and the activity that will be needed from Julia to win. In Gabi Pessanha vs. Paige Clymer we discussed Gabi making her super fight NoGI debut we discussed some of her Footlock winds that she has taken recently on the IBJJF circuit and some of the tactical tendencies that she has that may lead to her potentially being able to be countered by Paige. We discussed some stylistically changes in. Paige passing, that may potentially work in her favor. This week on the show, Maine and Miranda accompanied by Cory recap Polaris 34 that took place earlier in the day we discussed the entire squads event and every single match in the men's tournament as well as both women's title fights between Ffion Davies and Margot Ciccarelli and Helena Crevar versus Sula Mae-Loewenthal. In the recap section of the show, we talk about the absolutely incredible performances from the athletes to cross the entire squads event, including stand-up performances and showings by Mateusz Szczeciński. We discussed the overwhelming focus on leg locks for the event and the commanding lead that team Europe took early and then never let go out throughout both houses of the squads event. We recap all of the action and discuss why the format works so well and how potentially we would like to see it used in CJI 3. In the recap of the women's title fights, we discussed Ffion pacing and the absolute return to form in her top game and passing pressure with her, taking a commanding decision victory over Margot Ciccarelli after three rounds. In our recap of Helena Crevar versus Sula Mae-Loewenthal we discussed the nearly 2 minute round one submission that saw Crevar finish a modified head and arm from the mount to retain her title on Polaris Recorded 11-1-2025
