In this powerful message, we're challenged to examine our spiritual health and the quality of our relationships. The key scripture, Matthew 5:21-22, reminds us that even anger towards others can be as damaging as murder in God's eyes. This teaching emphasizes the importance of reconciliation and dealing with conflicts promptly. Just as we pay attention to our physical health, we're encouraged to be intentional about our spiritual diet and exercise. The analogy of carrying emotional baggage like oversized luggage serves as a vivid reminder of how unresolved issues can weigh us down. We're called to humble ourselves, submit to God, and make the first move in reconciling with others. This message urges us to shift from low-level, defensive thinking to high-level, growth-oriented mindsets. By doing so, we can experience true spiritual freedom and healthier relationships with both God and others. While we're still far from summer vacation, many people are already starting to figure out where they're going on holidays this year. As photographers, especially film photographers, it can be challenging to choose what camera(s) to bring and how to keep things to a minimum! There is a temptation to bring everything plus the kitchen sink along for the ride, and if any member of the CCR team knows this full well, it's Alex. But when space is limited, and extra bags cost airlines money, we may need to rethink and start packing a little lighter. This is a follow-up to the original episode recorded in 2015, where Alex discusses his travels in Europe from Europe. But this time around, with another ten years of experience and often some back-breaking loadout, he sits down for a solo show and discusses some ideas on how to travel lighter and get the most bang from a slimmed-down kit.

When we practice yoga for ourselves, we often skip the Savasana practice at the end. However this sweet relaxation at the end of our practice is so important to integrate what we did on the mat into our body and mind. In this Savasana practice I use the travelling light visualisation to relax the whole body. The traveling light represents our inner wisdom and intuition. Keep in mind that this Savasana practice is taken from a real Yoga class, so it might contain some references to the yoga practice. To follow the full Yoga class, go to the video on my YouTube Channel: https://youtu.be/nVMPWOT9kuQ If you're looking for more of my online content, then look no further than my linktr.ee page! This week, Pastor Ricky explores the way technology can burden us with unrealistic expectations and invites us to see Jesus' invitation to be human—nothing more nor less.
This week, we will look at the burden of fear through the lens of Resurrection Hope found in Jesus. The perfect love of Jesus expressed through his life, death, and resurrection confronts and drives away our fears by securing our status in his eternal kingdom. Embracing the knowledge that God is lovingly looking after us frees us from self-centered fear which allows us to lovingly care for the needs of others.
Instead of writing a lengthy article this week, I pointed my iPhone at my face, clipped on a wireless mic, put the puppy in the background of the shot, and hit record. I share my thoughts about forcing yourself to take breaks, even when you feel like you shouldn't. I dive into the times in my life when that sentiment caused me massive mental health issues, and I point out a few misconceptions that contributed to that self-delusion.If you're having trouble taking breaks, this is for you.And if you're good at taking breaks, please tell me how to do it ;)Here's my “take the break or the break takes you” moment. The blog post: https://thebootstrappedfounder.com/take-a-break/The podcast episode: https://share.transistor.fm/s/218285c3The video: https://youtu.be/lmPE0ZT37L8You'll find my weekly article on my blog: https://thebootstrappedfounder.comPodcast: https://thebootstrappedfounder.com/podcastNewsletter: https://thebootstrappedfounder.com/newsletterMy book Zero to Sold: https://zerotosold.com/My book The Embedded Entrepreneur: https://embeddedentrepreneur.com/My course Find your Following: https://findyourfollowing.comFind me on Twitter: https://twitter.com/arvidkahl/This episode is sponsored by Acquire.com
One of the greatest burdens we often carry is the propensity to pride – to comparing and competing. Jesus intends to relieve us of this awful burden by bringing both our Judge and the One who is our Defense, who gives us a new verdict. We'll look at how Paul models this life in 1 Corinthians 3-4 and demonstrates how to travel light.
This week, Dr. Frik Kruger explores how busyness in our lives distracts us from a deeper life-giving relationship with Jesus through the story of Martha and Mary found in Luke 10: 38-42. We will explore ways that we can return to that Peace that Jesus promises in Matthew 11: 28-30.
We live in a time and place where worry is often a marker of people's lives. How does worry work? And what can we do about it? Jesus' words invite us to ask ourselves some important questions that will help us put off the heavy burden of worry and take up the light yoke he has for us instead.
In this message we see how Jesus' unburdens us of the insatiable drive for more – more money, more stuff, that can easily derail and enslave us. So, Jesus offers a stark choice: serve God or money. You can't serve both. Through his own life, death, and resurrection, Jesus intends to make us a people who live for more than the bottom line – who live for the kingdom.
This week, Pastor Ricky explores the burden of anger and contempt. We'll see how human anger makes us act in haste and hold on to wrongs suffered. We'll learn how to take the space we need to process anger without hurting others and how to let go of wrongs suffered to live in greater freedom.
This week, Dr. Grant Del Begio will look at Paul's encouragement in Ephesians 5 to imitate God as his well loved children. While this at first sounds intimidating, the focus is on learning to love well as we unload our backpacks of the idols, compulsions, and addictions we are all prone to carry.
This week, Pastor Ricky explores the burden of worldly sorrow in 2 Corinthians 7: 9-13. We learn that worldly sorrow perpetuates a cycle of sin when the voice of shame encourages us to turn away from Jesus. Godly sorrow breaks that cycle by turning to Jesus in repentance and letting his love grow us.
This week, as we continue to learn about travelling light, Pastor Gerald will focus on how, at God's heart, his deep desire is for us to live as forgiven people and forgiving people.
As we begin our series “Travelling Light,” Jesus invites us to recognize the many ways that we are weary and burdened, and take on a new way of life: his way. At the very centre of this new way of life, of Jesus' “yoke,” is deep communion with the Living God. We learn this way of life as we come to Jesus in trust.

As we travel through life, we may feel like we need the equivalent of a 12-tonne luxury motorhome, complete with a supercar in the undercarriage garage, to get us through the journey. But in today's message, David explores how Jesus encourages us to 'travel light'.A message by David Toscano.
One of the greatest mysteries of Christmas is found in the very audacious idea that God, who is “LIGHT” according to scripture, would choose to come and live on earth, trading heaven and glory for pain, suffering, darkness, insecurity and death. Christmas begs to answer why the “Light of Creation” travelled so far. He travelled “light” coming with nothing; but when He did, LIGHT travelled, cloaked in a suitcase of skin, wrapped in the rags of a newborn baby. In our message time together on this fourth Sunday of Advent, we will explore two angles that may help answer why. One, Christmas makes God real to us. Two, Christmas makes God close to us.Do you have prayer requests? Imagine travelling, largely without stepping on a plane. Just boats, trains and thumbing a ride. There's no WIFI, mobile phones or Instagram for bragging rights to friends and family stuck back home. Steve Lowndes has written a memoir called Travelling Light about the journeys he took with his former wife, Lisa Potts, through the 1970s. It was a time when travel was truly intrepid - through a world polarised by the Cold War - but free of the madding crowds mass tourism would bring in later decades. As well as South America, they did the "hippie trail" of Iran, Afghanistan and Nepal, as well as a trip behind the Iron Curtain to parts of the Soviet Union - including Russia itself. Writing is just one facet of Steve's life - he's had a number of roles in local government and retired in 2019 as the chair of the Canterbury Regional Council. He's also passionate about the arts - he's an avid painter and Chair of the Arts on Tour board.

How do we travel light with less baggage and burden and surrender to the glorious ways of the Lord?NOTE: Due to technical issues, the first part of this message is unavailable.
