What is in Kellan's washer?? I figured it might be a Sephiroth Amiibo trying to cast Meteor on the planet of damp clothes, but alas, I was wrong. TKAD casts Meteor on the Pokemon universe with two big bang anime episodes to review. Ep. 204, “The Big Balloon Blow-Up” is a wacky racers callback in the sky, with an Oscar worthy performance from Meowth. Ep. 205 “The Screen Actor's Guilt” has Brad Van Damme and Smoochum and contains absolutely no Oscar worthy performances. Namakula's career was derailed by the entertainment industry's COVID mandates. Now she's fighting back by running to be the NY president of SAG-AFTRA. Victory, however, may require exposing shocking levels of corruption within the union.Namakula is a multimedia artist who graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. She went on to develop a robust career spanning over 20 years in NYC, working throughout the US and Europe as a commercial video editor, creative producer, actor, VO talent, writer and casting director, at a high level. She's supported and spearheaded commercials, industrials, webseries, art films, live events and has worked with top tier ad agencies and production companies, on accounts ranging from multi-million dollar prestige brands to indie projects. She's also a bass player, known as "Nasejje", currently in the indie rock duo, FINE PRINT.In the last few years, she and 1000s of SAG-AFTRA members have suffered work stoppage due to the union pushing unscientific, medical mandates as a contingency for employment. This, and the discovery of rife corruption within the guild, has been the impetus for her SAG-AFTRA NY Local Presidential candidacy, (August 2023). https://www.namakula.com/artivist0:00:00 -- Intro.0:03:37 -- Renaissance Woman and Citizen of the World.0:18:54 -- Curiosity, Openness, and Being an Outlier.0:23:51 -- On Pandemic Skepticism.0:52:12 -- The Onset of the Mandates.1:02:35 -- Dysfunction & Corruption in SAG-AFTRA?1:27:58 -- On the Future of Show Business.-------------------------------------------------------SUBSCRIBE TO THE STATE OF THE ARTS: cliftonduncan.substack.comBUY TWIN ENGINE COFFEE: https://twinenginecoffee.com/?aff=4DONATE VIA VENMO: https://account.venmo.com/u/CliftonDuncanArtOR PAYPAL: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/CliftonDuncanArtOR CASHAPP: $CliftonDuncanArt

Case and Sam stand with Writer's Guild and Screen Actor's Guild! In this episode, they share their thoughts on the matter before taking a pause in solidarity with the striking Unions!
This episode was recorded before both the Writer's Guild of America and the Screen Actor's Guild went on strike against the studios due to the studios' unwillingness to make a fair deal with these unions for their labor. It's important to note that these studios could end the strike at any point by meeting the unions at the negotiation table, but as of the release of this episode, the studios have chosen to let these workers strike rather than cut their own income by fractions of a percent. We highly encourage you to read up about the details of what the Unions are asking for, as well as how you would be able to help out these workers on strike. You can learn more about why they are striking and ways to support them by going here and here! Regina really is out here tripping up single fathers and then double-crossing them and stranding them in other Realm(s), isn't she? She's really looking camp right in the eye. Also! Why does it seem that some artists have better luck than others? Is it being in the right place at the right time? Is it knowing the right people? Could it be just dumb luck? Maybe it comes down to hard work, perseverence, and building a strong network community, where giving is as important as receiving. Singer, Songwriter, Booking Agent, Screen Actor, and Entrepreneur Tim Charron joins us on this episode, where he he talks about his success in the music and film and television industry. Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth interview with Sara Karloff, Daughter of Legendary Master of Horror, Boris Karloff About Harvey's guest: Today's special guest, Sara Karloff, is the only child of one of the greatest and most beloved cinematic legends of all time – the master of horror, Boris Karloff. Although this brilliant British actor made 174 movies and demonstrated remarkable versatility, in films like “The Criminal Code”, “Scarface”, “The Public Defender”, “Five Star Final”, ”The Lost Patrol”, “The House of Rothschild”, and “The Body Snatcher”, he is most definitely best remembered for his iconic roles in such horror classics as “Frankenstein”, “Bride of Frankenstein”, “Son of Frankenstein”, “The Mummy”, “The Old Dark House”, “The Black Room”, “The Black Cat” and “The Raven”. He appeared in many television shows, and starred in 3 TV series of his own: “Thriller”, “Colonel March” and “The Veil”. And who can ever forget his portrayal of the Grinch in the classic animated Christmas special, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, for which he won a Grammy Award. Aside from his iconic work on film and television, he appeared in dozens of radio shows and stage productions, including the role of “Captain Hook” in Peter Pan on Broadway opposite Jean Arthur. And he earned a Tony award nomination for his performance on Broadway opposite Julie Harris, in “The Lark”. He also made over 20 children's recordings for Cademon Records. And of course, his instantly recognizable voice inspired the 1962 hit song by Bobby Pickett, “The Monster Mash”. He was a charter member of the Screen Actor's Guild, and he's one of the very few stars to have been awarded TWO stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame: one for his work in movies, and one for his work on television. And in 1997, the U.S. Postal Service honoured him as Frankenstein's Monster and the Mummy in its "Classic Monster Movie Stamps" series.
