New but also kind of technically very old episode from us about bisexual representation in THE NEWSREADER (2021), a queer Australian period drama created by Michael Lucas and starring Anna Torv and Sam Reid.
Leisel has a whinge at a shockingly bad pocket call she made at 10pm on Saturday night. She called her financial planner and was very bloated. Let’s just say they may have received a slightly farty voice mail... Unreal! Spida brings his spray forward to this morning so that there is time to plan. WHOEVER is responsible for it - with the biggest SUNS home game ever this weekend - the parking situation needs to be sorted out! Spida gives his recommendations to the government, the council and the SUNS about how to keep things flowing this weekend. Rod McLeod is brought in for a special interview, without telling him prior. Rod the Newsreader is a huge Angels fan and the team give him an impromptu interview with John Brewster about their upcoming show at Coolangatta Hotel as a part of Cooly Rocks On. Finally, Spida sets the stage for a game of bluff to decide who has to sniff his disgusting bucket!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Greg & Roxy CONTINUE their Interview with the Vampire Reaction, Recap, Analysis, Breakdown, Commentary, & Spoiler Review!! Greg Alba and Roxy Striar return with their reaction and review of Season 1, Episode 4 of AMC's Interview with the Vampire, titled “The Ruthless Pursuit of Blood with All a Child's Demanding.” Based on Anne Rice's iconic novel, this episode marks a major turning point for the series as the introduction of Claudia permanently reshapes the twisted bond between Louis and Lestat. In this haunting chapter, Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson, Game of Thrones, Broadchurch) and Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid, The Newsreader, Belle) grapple with the consequences of turning a plague-ravaged child into a vampire. Claudia (Bailey Bass, Avatar: The Way of Water, A House on the Bayou) quickly proves to be far more dangerous and emotionally volatile than either of them anticipated, unleashing a ruthless hunger that mirrors and magnifies Lestat's cruelty. The episode delivers unforgettable moments of gothic horror and dark irony, from Claudia's first kills to her chilling realization of her eternal imprisonment in a child's body. As Louis begins to see Claudia as both daughter and reflection of his own damnation, tensions escalate inside the immortal family, setting the stage for betrayal, resentment, and long-brewing revenge. We break down Claudia's terrifying arrival, Lestat's manipulative parenting, Louis' growing guilt and resistance, and why Episode 4 stands as one of the most disturbing and emotionally rich installments of the season so far. Subscribe to our newsletter, the Vulnerabilitea-mail - www.theimperfects.com.au As the title suggests, Nas Campanella is really cool (and accomplished and driven and resilient). You might recognise her voice from the Triple J cinematic universe or know her work as the Disability Affairs Reporter for the ABC. But what you might not know is that Nas is vision impaired, or that a neurological condition means that she can’t read braille either. In this episode of The Vulnerabilitea House, Nas answers the questions “what childhood challenges best prepared you for adulthood?” Chatting to Hugh, Ryan and Josh, Nas talks about her relationship with her disability, and how it shapes her identity. Nas also dives into a powerful conversation with the guys about the role agency and accessibility in the experience of discrimination, and shares why, if a magical operation could restore her sight, she wouldn’t change a thing. Nas, it has been an absolute joy.

All this week we're celebrating the arrival of the final season of ‘The Newsreader' having dropped in Australia, by getting the show's creator, writer, producer AND Em's best friend since they were 11, Michael Lucas to chat about it. Hi Guys, welcome back to TV Reload. Thank you for clicking or downloading on today’s episode with Michelle Lim Davidson. One of the brilliant actors from The newsreader. Which returns this week on the ABC for its final series. The Newsreader is brilliant and if you haven’t seen the first two series I am kinda jealous because I would love to go back and have that feeling of watching it for the first time. It is so groundbreaking and well made that in fact its one of the best Australian scripted drama’s of this generation. The Newsreader follows a few characters POV of the newsroom during the 80’s and Michelle’s character Noelene is one of the three main characters that we have followed through on this trilogy. Her character is Korean Australian and there has been so much to unpack with her character and even more so in series three. Michell will unpack the ways in which her character is similar to her own personality and how Michelle was able to contribute this season more than just as an actress. We chat about sweet spot of The Newsreader and why this series has highlighted how far we have come and how far we haven’t with some of the biggest issues in this country I find out about how recreating the Logies had Kylie Minogue and Daryl Somers sending in their approval to use old footage. You will get everything from why this series will end this year, what Michelle thinks her trajectory with her on screen husband played by Steven Peacock and what contribution to her character had her asking for rewrites to make sure the conversation about race in this country was handled correctly. There is so much to talk about with so many inside revelations. So sit back and relax as we unpack the wonderful world of The Newsreader. Which is back on Sunday the 2nd on the ABC and iview Australia. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
This episode is utter chaos, Michael joins us from Queensland, so of course he stuffed up the time difference, then we had a bajillion and 7 technical issues. You'll hear what Michael was doing instead of joining us, and experience the full chaos of Em and Michael trying to hear each other and right their technical wrongs together. Once all that's sorted, it is onto the nominees for the Razzies for worst movies of the year, from ‘Madame Web' and' Joker: Folie a Deux', all the way through to' Borderland' and ‘Megalopolis'. There's a quick visit into the Oscar noms and much chat around why ‘Wicked' deserves more accolades than the 13 nominations that ‘Emilia Perez' has secured. We also get a full update on Elio's birthday celebrations, plus Elio's first day at primary school is next week, so Em is naturally deep in her feels about what the future holds for him. Finally, Lady Gaga dropped her teaser for a brand new album called ‘Mayhem' so naturally we need chats around that too. Then in our Sealed Section, on our premium service Emsolation Extra, Em grills Michael about what is happening in the final season of his critically acclaimed TV series ‘The Newsreader'. We also delve into the latest in the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni lawsuits, plus Em reviews the must see Oscar nominated animated film ‘Wild Robot' and what is up with Madonna's whiteboard insta share? There’s only one Patrina Jones. Newsreader, mother, the Queen of Kmart. She is an absolute superstar of Melbourne radio and every time I turn on her mic I’m excited and terrified in the best possible way about what she’s going to say. Here’s just a few of our favourite Patsy moments.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
An internally rearranged Michael joins us, having survived a bout of runny egg based food poisoning he's risen from near death to help Em work through a hair extensions update, the hair witches have been in touch and the sensory nightmare is being addressed. We get a full review of Katy Perry's AFL Grand Final appearance, with added commentary from Michael's mum, plus there's a side quest into Pesto the adorable giant baby penguin the internet is obsessing over. Then we need to get the lowdown on all the high fives and other blokey bloke things that Em witnessed whilst attending an AFL Lunch the day before the Grand Final. We teased it last week, but never got around to talking about Michael's TV series ‘The Newsreader' being up for an International Emmy, and what exactly that means for him, and if Em will be joining him in New York in November. Finally Em and Michael have both seen ‘Will & Harper', a new Netflix doco following comedian Will Ferrell, who embarks on a cross-country road trip with his close friend of 30 years after they come out as a trans woman. Joining them to review the doco and offer their own insight is friend and director of Em's ‘Outgrown' show, trans comedian Anna Piper Scott. Then in the Sealed Section, on our premium service Emsolation Extra, Em and her eldest daughter Marchella discuss why she can't appear as Menopausia in Em's upcoming Arena Spectacular, her adventures on her overseas holiday, plus they try and keep a straight face while playing the Newsreader Game together. While broadcasting out of the U.S, it seemed only fitting to send our newsreader Brooklyn out on the streets to chat to the locals and find out who they'd pick: Trump or Kamala? Have a listen to hear how it all went down...See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We begin this episode reminding you to vote for Michael's nominees from ‘The Newsreader' in the Logie Awards and of course Em's bestie Julia Morris, who's NEVER won a Logie! Then we need to talk about someone announcing their upcoming Arena Spectacular, it's Em, she's taking over MC (Mariah Carey) Arena, Saturday December 7, to deliver ‘Outgrown the Arena Spectacular', with side quests on Chappell Roan and Kesha thrown in. Speaking of Arenas, we follow that with the news that Celine clapped back at Donald Trump with a sassy statement after he used ‘My Heart Will Go On' at one of his rallies. We also need to delve into the bizarre revelation that US Presidential candidate RFK Jr dumped a dead bear cub in Central Park back in 2014, because why wouldn't he do something like that? After that we're keen to talk about the trainwreck of a PR campaign happening for the new movie based on the beloved #BookTok book ‘It Ends With Us'. There's a LOT to unpack involving the movie's star Blake Lively, costar and director Justin Baldoni and even Blake's husband Ryan Reynolds and his ‘Deadpool & Wolverine' co-star Hugh Jackman. Finally we need to talk through some of our fave moments from the Closing Ceremony in Paris as well as doing an ‘Okay, Stop!' on that very unique appearance from Tom Cruise. Then in our Sealed Section, on our premium service Emsolation Extra, Em and Michael talk about Rachael Gunn, aka Raygun's performance during the breakdancing competition at the Games.
