About Julie Condliffe Julie Condliffe is a 4x bestselling author, global speaker, and reputation reinvention strategist who helps high-achievers rise from public shame, digital defamation, or personal collapse. A former solicitor turned international voice for the silenced, Julie empowers professionals, leaders, and women in transition to reclaim their credibility, voice, and calling — not despite what they've been through, but because of it. Her latest book, Unbreakable: A Roadmap for Turning Adversity into Advantage, is both memoir and manifesto — a raw, insightful guide for anyone who's lost a title, a platform, or a sense of self, and is ready to rebuild with purpose. Julie doesn't offer polished platitudes; she speaks from lived experience, having rebuilt her life after a systemic and unjust attempt to silence her voice. Now, Julie supports others in their reinvention journeys — from senior professionals navigating reputational recovery, to ambitious women rebuilding after personal or career collapse. Her approach is honest, empowering, and deeply human: she reminds us that no one else gets to write our ending. Whether on global stages or in one-to-one transformations, Julie champions resilience that's real — not performative. She brings warmth, authority, and a message that transcends roles and resumes: that we are not defined by what breaks us, but by how we rise. Julie brings powerful storytelling, grounded insight, and a roadmap for reclaiming visibility, confidence, and identity — especially for anyone who's been knocked down and is ready to rise again. In this Dhamma talk at the International Buddhist Meditation Center Los Angeles on July 20, 2025, Subodha discusses the 12 causal conditions in paticcasamuppada (dependent co-arising) and relates them to our direct experience in the present moment, asking us to pay attention to what originates in us due to ignorance and what originates in us as we grow in our understanding of the Four Noble Truths.
Everyone carries baggage. It's really not a question of if, but how much. What we must allow God to do in our lives is help us shed the baggage that can hinder us from fulfilling our purpose and destiny. We must let go of it as God highlights it in order to move toward wholeness. Removing the baggage from our lives that keeps us from prospering, that keeps us from fulfilling our purpose and destiny in our lives.
Hey folks, thanks for tuning in to the latest episode of the Ecosystem Member podcast. Today's episode is one that I had in mind when I first started formulating the idea for this podcast about two years ago and is a fitting end to season two of the podcast.Dr. Susan Murphy Roshi is the founding teacher of Zen Open Circle in Sydney, Australia, as well as a writer, radio producer, film writer and director. I came to know her through two of her books - 'Minding the Earth, Mending the World: Zen and the Art of Planetary Crisis' and her latest book 'A Fire Runs Through All Things: Zen Koans for Facing the Climate Crisis'.In this episode, we talk about what a Zen perspective on the climate crisis looks like and the concept of Engaged Buddhism, the interconnectedness of all things with a practice from Susan on how to help us recognize that connectedness, and her unique background that brings together Zen and Aboriginal teachings. This is episode 43 of the podcast and probably is my favorite one yet for a lot of reasons. The first being that a lot of my contemplation about our human relationship with nature came through my study of Buddhism and Zen. About a decade ago, I was lucky enough to be introduced to an amazing career coach named Michael Carroll who was a high flying human resources executive at a number of well known companies including the Walt Disney Company and an authorized Buddhist teacher who wrote the books 'Awake at Work' and 'Fearless at Work' on bringing Buddhist wisdom to your work and career. The short time I spent with Michael directly and then the much longer time I spent with his books fundamentally shifted my view of not just work, but how I engage the world around me. Susan's books have had a similar impact. The other reason that this is one of my favorite episodes is that it provides no answers. The natural human inclination when faced with volatility and uncertainty is to look for certainty, to look for the known. Yet, to put it bluntly, what we know is not working for a lot of people and certainly not for the planet. There are people who would like you to believe that the answer lies in domination. In dominating and extracting from nature and dominating other groups of people. They like to say things like "peace through strength" and we're "at war" with nature, subjugating it for our gain. I don't care for certainty, but I am certain that the notion that we are on this plant to fight it and every other living thing around us is ridiculous. Thich Nhat Han wrote “Our own life has to be our message.” So as we wrap season two, I am asking myself what I want my message to be about my time on Earth and my relationship with what lives and breathes here.LinksBuy Susan Murphy's 'A Fire Runs Through All Things' Buy Susan Murphy's 'Minding the Earth, Mending the World'
What would the divine feminine or Goddess nature want to ask or expect of a man today? If you were a man representing the divine masculine, and had the chance, what would you want to ask or say to a woman at this moment? Can we even imagine ourselves and each other as different expressions of a divine source, more than merely a personality? These were among the inquiries that helped inspire a profound exploration of the divine feminine and the Goddess archetype at this Fall's Metamodern Spirituality Lab. To learn more, Portals brought together Aviv Shahar and Lab organizers and metamodern leaders Layman Pascal and Brendan Graham Dempsey, along with participants Mariah Rose McKay and Antonia Louise. This is the newest conversation in the Portals series exploring metamodern spirituality.A central theme for this special collaboration of women and men was exploring the role of the Goddess, the feminine, in metamodern spirituality: an embrace, rather than historical denial, of the feminine presence at the heart of the human's universal nature. The Lab itself was a space where gatherings and rituals supported a freer expression of the divine feminine and masculine influences in both women and men.The openness allowed for the emergence of many facets of the Goddess nature: maternal, warrior, healing, wisdom. For many participants it produced a trust and chance for intimacy that in turn generated a deep sense of healing and release of ancient tensions between the genders.Other Lab insights include:It's the importance of community; we cannot do this alone. It's the practical elements, but also the deep and intimate bonds we form, and the healing power of deep relationships. There is the long-wave dimension and nature of this work: we need to include the generational transmission; a project of the next 100 years. When the god and goddess are prepared to embrace each other, inside each of us, a birthing process occurs; those two configurations merge into a third nature that liberates a new future. We don't know the ripple effects of how our hearts and consciousness can affect the world when we change our relationship to the goddess. This quality of intimacy and way of being with each other, where people are held in a place where they can begin a sentence without knowing how they will end it, takes time to build. We honor the broad spectrum of ways women show up from a “masculine” stance, and men from a “feminine” stance; these are potent and helpful ways of looking at the world and ourselves. This conversation is part of the continuing Portals discovery into what is emerging on the frontiers of human experience in this time of profound change. Information about upcoming special events can be found on the Events page. Also visit and subscribe to our YouTube channel. TWEETABLE QUOTES “From the point of view of people who are interested in growth and development and depth and a transformation of civilization, a goddess who's also capable of growth and change and depth, and who could enter into more nuanced or richer relations with human beings, and in the masculine/feminine exchange, is something we would like to be able to facilitate through our thinking, and speaking, and hearts, and relationships.” (Layman)“This is a favorite topic of mine, polarity in masculine and feminine dynamics, and there is something really valuable about having these distinctions and having a spectrum between those poles, but being able to create a magnetism, being able to create something that pulls together and also something that repels, not necessarily in a bad way, just in a separation, individuation way. We are separate, and we can be as one. I feel like there is a lot of healing that we are doing collectively; how do we embody those in the most healthy and conscious way?” (Antonia) RESOURCES MENTIONED Portals of Perception WebsiteAviv's LinkedIn Aviv's TwitterAviv's WebsiteThe Goddess Arising
In an event bursting with pride and youthful exuberance, the Valley Today welcomed several graduates of the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber's Arising Leadership Program. The program, designed to cultivate the next generation of confident leaders, concluded with a memorable graduation ceremony that highlighted the growth and achievements of its participants. In today's episode, host Janet Michael, shares the experiences and speeches of both the graduates and program sponsors. Cynthia Schneider, the CEO of the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber, delivered an inspiring opening speech to the graduates. She praised their dedication and growth throughout the program. "You all have already mastered many leadership principles. You showed up. That is number one. Your employers are looking for people who will show up on time every day, and you did just that... You've made some new friends. I hope you have," she expressed warmly. Cynthia emphasized the importance of confidence and clarity that the program aimed to instill in the students. "The program was designed to cultivate leaders in the arising generation that radiate confidence. I remember when we were putting this program together two years ago that we wanted young people that would radiate confidence and I think that's what we are seeing." One of the highlights of the evening was the speech by Ava Funkhouser, who was elected by her peers as a speaker for the graduation ceremony. Ava reflected on the personal growth and unexpected discoveries she made during the program. "When I first started this program, I thought we'd be learning about leadership in a traditional sense... But what I didn't expect was how much I learned about myself and what kind of leader I want to be," she shared, her words resonating with many in the room. Ava beautifully articulated the essence of leadership, saying, "It's about listening. It's about caring. It's about showing up for people, even when things feel uncertain. Being a leader is about who you are when nobody's watching and who you become when people are counting on you." Janet interviewed several students, including Ava Funkhouser, Kobe Kerns, Kiahna Venable, Brenden & Colton Luttrell, who shared their favorite aspects of the program and the friendships they formed. Kobe highlighted the unexpected enjoyment and learning experiences: "When I first started, I thought it was gonna be this boring thing. I'm doing it just for the experience of learning new things. And then when I got into it and I started meeting my people and my fellow friends, it just clicked to me that this is actually really fun and I actually had a lot of fun." The program's success would not have been possible without the support of sponsors like Carmeuse Lime and Stone. Logan Thompson, the Area Operations Manager, expressed the company's dedication to local leadership and community involvement. "Leadership is very near and dear to Carmeuse's heart... We want to be one of the places that attract people in a program like this to come back and work in the area." Kaleigh Finchem, who created and led the program's first batch of students, saw it flourish under its new leadership. Sharing her sentiments, she remarked, "It's just really nice with these kids. They come out here, they have an expectation of what they think this program's gonna be... But I'll tell you what, three days in, it's like they come out of their shell." As the event wrapped, Cynthia sat down with Janet to reflect on the program's success and its bright future. She shared the long-term vision for the program and its impact. "This is the culmination of an almost 10-year goal... And now getting that vision, like having the program was a vision. I'm just in awe of how beautifully it's rolling out." Cynthia highlighted the vital role of sponsors like Carmeuse Lime and Stone and shared her confidence in the program's continued success. "Because of them, we then had the confidence to launch knowing that we could pay for every student." The evening concluded with a celebration of camaraderie and shared experiences among students, parents, and organizers. "Our future is looking pretty bright," Janet Michael remarked, reflecting the collective sentiment of hope and optimism for the leaders of tomorrow. Arising from the McGrath Institute for Church Life, the Sullivan Undergraduate Saints Fellowship forms Notre Dame students as leaders in the study and spirituality of the saints. We launched this fellowship in 2025 with an inaugural cohort of 12 students selected from a pool of many, many applicants. As part of their fellowship, our saints fellows completed a course this past semester (with yours truly) on praying with the saints. Next year they will become leaders of other undergraduate students, as they form groups of students who pray together and serve together in a manner common to a saint each fellow selects. But in between the course they complete and the year of leadership they undertake, the whole cohort of 12 fellows, along with me and a chaplain, make a pilgrimage to immerse ourselves in the cultures that gave rise to particular saints––cultures which, in turn, these saints renewed and enriched. This year's pilgrimage was to France, specifically: Paris, Chartres, Lisieux, LeMans, Tours, and Lourdes. Today, two of our Sullivan Undergraduate Saints Fellows join me to talk about the meaning and significance of this pilgrimage with the saints. Macy Vance is a rising junior and Kate Apelian is a rising senior at Notre Dame, but really I should let them introduce themselves.Follow-up Resources:Learn more about the Sullivan Undergraduate Saints FellowshipCheck out the wildly popular “Saturdays with the Saints” lecture series“Pilgrimage and the Urgent Question of Faith,” by Leonard J. It was always at home. It was in the simple getting up in the morning to pray like Jesus who, "Arising a great while before day, arose, and departed, and went out into a solitary place and there prayed." Mark 1:35.Long walks in nature and seeing His birds in flight, and looking upwards into His skies has always been when He has met me. It has been in the simple, natural places of home that I would speak to Him, and feel His reciprocated love upon me. Awaking in the middle of the night my thoughts would arise and my prayers like incense ascended, and He was ever-present. I have never felt His Presence in religious crowds and noise, but only in quiet home moments. During Jesus' life, He was always going into people's homes whenever invited. When He did lives were changed forever. There were magnificent accounts of deliverances, miracles and quiet healings right under their simple home roofs.Wherever you live, in whatever roof you live under, Jesus Christ will enter in under your roof when you ask Him. He will never turn you down. Blind Bartemeus received his sight, the Paraplegic walked, Simon Peter's mother-in-law was healed of a fever. Jairus' daughter was resurrected. On earth Jesus never had a home of His own. Ahead of the Budget, there was an expectation that the government would provide some relief for the middle class, and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman delivered. In her budget speech, she announced that there would be no income tax for incomes up to ₹12 lakh. Of course, this stole the show, but it wasn't the ONLY big news. The Union Budget 2025 had several schemes, tax reforms and initiatives to improve infrastructure, ease of doing business, and financial inclusion. Musician and researcher John Adams joins me to divulge new details in relation to his series with researcher Nino on the secret history of punk music. Arising from the psychedelic genre and the 60s counter-culture (so-called) movements, punk became an iconic sub-genre that would have a tremendous impact on "youth culture" through the 70s, 80s, 90s and into today. The real question, however, is whether there is a deeper occult agenda to punk music, as well as a social engineering aspect to this "scene." We explore these questions, as well as topics such as: Henry Rollins, Riot Girl, feminism, GG Allin, Iggy Pop, situationism, Fugazi, The Sex Pistols and "spectacle," performance art, deep state connections, Genesis P-Orridge and transgender agendas, the Stone Roses, Lou Reed and Blavatsky, The KLF and the rise of electronica, Discordianism, techno and rave culture, and the power of pop culture to mind control mass populations. [This episode originally aired on November 8, 2022] When we contemplate impermanence, we're basically looking at the facts of life • the fact is that we all die; we all have losses, sorrow and heartbreak • we don't contemplate impermanence as a way to overcome it, but as a way to figure out how to live with it—and even how to honor it • this is the world that we have, and without this ever-changing world, none of us would be here • impermanence is not only about loss; it is also about fresh arising • it is about possibility • there are occasions—for example, at the moment of birth and at the moment of death—when we encounter that meeting point of the falling away and the fresh arising on the spot, and those moments are very powerful • we're at that edge where the two sides meet • the contemplation of impermanence can help bring us to that experience of fresh arising • it can help acquaint us with that edge, that non-dual point • we can begin to have glimpses that whatever arises is fresh; whatever arises is the essence of realization.

Middle East Concern was founded in 1991, in response to needs expressed by Christian leaders in the Middle East and North Africa. Through a network of ministry partners, Middle East Concern seeks to help Christians facing persecution across the Middle East and North Africa. They work to come up with strategies to improve conditions and protect rights of Christians with a goal of seeing Christians able to live out their faith in Christ freely. Brother Rob, a researcher for MEC, shares with VOM Radio this week about his work and about persecution faced by Christians in the MENA region. One of Rob's areas of interest is Iran, and he will tell us about recent large-scale research that shows how many Iranians are questioning and even rejecting Islam since the Islamic Revolution. Many of those have become followers of Jesus Christ—despite the risk of persecution. Rob also tells how God is bringing good out of Christian persecution in Türkiye (formerly Turkey) as Turkish Christian leaders are stepping up to shepherd the church after the expulsions of numerous foreign Christians. The Turkish government's strategy since 2019 has been to designate Christians from other countries living in turkey as a “threat to national security” and force them to leave, causing upheaval to many families who've lived there for decades. David Byle was one of those pushed out of Türkiye after fighting the expulsion order through the court system. Israel is another country where Rob monitors religious freedom and you'll hear about challenges to gospel outreach there. Brother Rob will also share how we can pray for Israel, including Palestinian Christians in the West Bank and Gaza, as there is so much conflict there. “The Christian community in this part of the world,” says Rob, “are the light and salt in these lands.” Prayer is the central part of the ministry at Middle East Concern as they continue to seek God's wisdom in each sensitive situation. Learn how you can pray specifically for Christians in Israel, Iran and Türkiye as Rob shares the needs of the church in these nations. Never miss an episode! Subscribe to the VOM Radio podcast.
Fairness and life do not always go together. Learning is part of the journey that we call the good fight. Every challenge brings added wisdom. Every time you fall and get up again, you rise a little higher. But why are we so distracted? We are meant for more than just survival. This means we serve love, growth and seek a deeper meaning in life. You only lose when you don't rise again. Celebrating death means divisive rhetoric weapons to divide and conquer. DNA testing and storage was all part of Covid. Havana syndrome is real. Getting into the nitty gritty can be ugly. What is the General Grievance doctrine? Voting is why the government exists. What do you do when it's failing? How about redress to set right a grievance. The officials have no mandate to correct your situation, they just listen. Then, a visit with an old friend Carla. Michigan claims elections cannot be questioned. How does that constitute addressing of a grievance? It's a great day when we fight back. Trump in a landslide, then a mail in theft. Anything worth doing is never easy. But when you cease pursuing justice, you stop being truly alive.
