Send Carolyn a textMeet Rob Tétrault —a man whose passion, perseverance, and purpose redefine what it means to make a difference. Rob's story begins in the spring of 2021, when a pivotal moment changed his life. Following his father's Leukemia diagnosis, Rob made a life-altering decision to prioritize his health, trading unhealthy habits for a pair of running shoes. Starting at 250 pounds and a problematic relationship with alcohol, he transformed himself one step at a time and took his final drink on July 2nd, 2022.Rob ran his first marathon less than six months into his running journey – and he didn't stop there. Over the past few years, he has competed in the Ironman World Championships, run the Boston Marathon, represented Canada at the Triathlon World Championships in Spain, and achieved a marathon personal best of 2:58.When he's not running, Rob wears many hats. He's cohost of The Running Journey podcast with his brother Charlie, an entrepreneur and award-winning portfolio manager as the founder of Tétrault Wealth Advisory Group, a Canadian TV personality and YouTube content creator dedicated to financial literacy, founder of the Canadian CMV Foundation & CMV Canada, and a soon-to-be PhD graduate. Mark Allen is a legend. ESPN named him the Greatest Endurance Athlete of All Time. 6X winner of the Ironman World Championships in Kona. First ever winner of the Triathlon World Championships. Epic 21-race winning streak, at all distances, the longest in triathlon history But it wasn't just Mark's victories that made him special. Mark was and is known for his mental game and spirituality. Which is something that we dive into during this interview: How to quiet the racing mind. This interview is especially fitting because May is Mental Health Month. We also just announced our newest member of the Charity Miles family, Active Minds. Active Minds is one of the premier mental health charities in the world.  It was started by Alison Malmon, 18 years ago, when she lost her brother, Brian to suicide. Alison recognized that Brian's story is the story of thousands of people who suffer in silence; who, despite their large numbers, think they are totally alone.  Wanting to combat the stigma around mental illness, Alison started a student group at the University of Pennsylvania, where she was a student. Active Minds has since grown to more than 800 college campuses, directly reaching close to 600,000 students each year through campus awareness campaigns, events, advocacy, outreach and more.  Active Minds has also grown outside of the college campus with its newly launched, Active Minds @Work program to help companies create a healthy mental health culture in the workplace. As I've written and spoken about before, I have personally struggled with anxiety and depression-- and in many ways, still do.  I've also heard from many in our community on this topic. So I know this is something many of you care deeply about too. So please help me welcome Active Minds to the Charity Miles family by doing some Charity Miles for them today. Also, one more quick note—this interview is sponsored by our great partners at Hope Foods.  As you all likely know by now, Hope Foods makes a variety of delicious Cashew & Almond Dips, Hummus, and Guacamole that feature fresh ingredients and bold flavors to elevate the wholesomeness of your favorite dishes and snacks. Like us, Hope is also deeply committed to mental health.  They aspire to manifest hope by providing food and tools that support your physical and mental well-being, and even have an entire section of their website dedicated to mental health resources.  If you'd like to check that out, please visit hopefoods.com/havehope. So big thanks to Hope Foods.  And a big welcome to Active Minds.  Now without any further ado, turn up your volume and turn on your charity miles and come along for the walk or run with me and Mark Allen, the greatest endurance athlete of all time.    >> If you'd like to learn more about Mark, visit his site here.

I cannot tell you how excited I am to share today's guest — a man who needs no introduction — triathlon legend Chris “Macca” McCormack. This interview is PURE GOLD!In case you've been living under a rock and have never heard of Macca, he is one of the winningest triathletes of all time, dominant at all distances from sprint to Ironman. He is a two-time Ironman World Champion and victor in over 200 triathlon races, including 12 Ironman titles, the 1997 ITU World Cup Series and the 1997 Triathlon World Championships, to name just a few.If you are a fan of Macca, then you've probably heard more than a few of his more outspoken — but always entertaining — interviews. I didn't want to reap an over-plowed field, so I chose to instead focus on aspects of his life less well-known — how he handles the balance of training and family life; how turning 40 has impacted his always evolving perspective on training and racing; and how he is learning to leverage social media as a service tool to help better communicate with and educate his amateur athlete fan base. case in point – check out his MX12 Training Videos by clicking HERE.I am super proud of this episode — Chris could not have been more candid, engaging and fun. I hope you enjoy the show as much as I enjoyed doing it!Speaking of enjoying the show — if you are, and inclined to help support what we are doing, then make sure you subscribe on iTunes and leave a comment on the iTunes page for the show. Finally, proud to announce that the paperback version of Finding Ultra* is coming out on May 21.
