This week on Faith & Freedom, Shemane is joined by her husband, Ted Nugent, as co host for one of the most heartfelt episodes yet—featuring cultural firestarter Russell Brand and MasterChef winner Whitney Miller. From Russell's raw, redemptive testimony to Whitney's faith-fueled cookie mission, this episode is packed with truth, courage, and a little bit of sweetness. Whether you're curious about faith, fired up about freedom, or just craving a really good cookie—this one's for you. [00:50] Russell Brand on Addiction, Faith, and the Fight for FreedomActor, comedian, and author Russell Brand sits down with Shemane and Ted for an unfiltered, deeply personal conversation about his journey from fame and addiction to finding Christ. He shares how a health scare with his son completely changed his worldview—and led him straight to the Gospel. Russell opens up about how he went from mocking faith to building his life around it, and from questioning the Second Amendment to fiercely defending it. They talk cancel culture, hunting as a spiritual experience, and why building a strong Christian community matters now more than ever. It's thoughtful, honest, and full of wisdom. [37:08] Whitney Miller on Making Cookies Great AgainWhitney Miller, who won the very first season of MasterChef at just 22 years old, joins Shemane to talk about her journey from home baker to founder of Whitney's Cookies. She shares how her faith and love of baking led her to ditch artificial ingredients and dyes in favor of real, wholesome goodness. Whitney talks about what it was like facing Gordon Ramsay in the kitchen, starting a business during a global shutdown, and why she believes in baking with purpose. Her cookies are as intentional as they are delicious. We went to an incredible open relationship workshop in Austin, Texas called "True Sex and Wild Love" and here is recap in case you missed it! (And yes we talk about the pink thing.) The event was hosted by Aubrey Marcus, CEO of Onnit, a company that makes and markets nutritional supplements, fitness equipment, and more in the spirit of optimizing human performance, and his fiance Whitney Miller, who is a relationship coach. (And they both happen to be in an open relationship.) The guest speaker at their event was Dr. Wednesday Martin, author of the award-winning book "Untrue: Why Nearly Everything We Believe About Women, Lust, and Infidelity Is Wrong and How the New Science Can Set Us Free". It was incredible to hear Dr. Martin talk about the benefits of open relationships from her scientific perspective and the research about the critical time period when monogamous couples seek variety (is it the man or woman?!). And finally of course, we talk about this mysterious pink thing. Curious about an open lifestyle with your partner?…Let's explore it together :)

Whitney's roots and deep love to write and perform original country music dates back to being a little girl in South Texas, growing up listening to acts like Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Bonnie Rhiatt, and Johnny Cash from her parents' record collection. Today, her sound is influenced by those early days and early Miranda Lambert and Gretchen Wilson. Whitney strongly encourages self-empowerment and a fearless take on life. Hearing no is only an opportunity to find a yes. Her overall mission in life is to inspire others to live life out loud! Before her move into her passion for creating music, Whitney specialized in unique relationship and life design. She knows how freeing it is to live life on your own terms, with less fear, and she directly supported hundreds of people, from professional and Olympic athletes and CEOs to stay-at-home parents, as they step into their truth and unleash the life they truly desire. She joined forces with some of the leading scientists and researchers in the field and co-hosted an extremely popular podcast that debuted at #50 on the overall iTunes charts and now has over 1.5 million downloads. In true "go for it" Whitney fashion, she has decided to take her biggest leap of faith yet and left her home state of Texas for Nashville, Tennessee, to chase her lifelong dream as a singer-songwriter. Her vast life experience and comfort in the spotlight allow her to not only create feeling through her lyrics and voice but also to inspire her audience. Whitney is currently finishing her debut album, recorded at Orb Recording studios with an all-star cast of guest musicians to be released in 2022. Expect a fun, country rock album filled with vulnerable, real-life stories and lots of attitude!https://www.whitneymillermusic.com/www.GaryScottThomas.com
