Steps to trusting is a place where we explore how to take active steps in our faith and trusting God. Taking steps to trusting could be letting go of something you have always wanted. It could be taking on something you never expected or thought you could handle. However, it is always a turning from the path of our own desires to set our eyes on God and follow after Him. At steps to trusting, we want to encourage each other to active steps in our faith, to follow the one who is trustworthy and help each other figure out the character of the God that we follow. I hope that you will join us as we continue to explore how to take active steps to trusting.

This 'Steps to Trusting' podcast episode focuses on how using the word enough in regards to people without defining the term can lead to feelings of inadequacy. Erin discusses the value of people. People are always enough to be loved and valued. However, she highlights how the statement "You are enough," often clashes with the reality that people aren't enough to fulfill all the expectations and needs of themselves or others. Erin discusses personal experiences that reveal only God is truly enough to fulfill our needs. What people lack in ability to fulfill the needs of others does not take away from their value. The episode references Genesis and Nehemiah 9 to illustrate God's sufficiency and faithful provision. The key takeaway is to trust God, recognizing our value lies in being loved by Him, and to praise Him for the good in our lives rather than taking personal pride. The episode concludes with a prayer, emphasizing the importance of transferring our trust to God.00:00 Introduction to Steps to Trusting00:10 Defining 'Being Enough'01:07 Biblical Example of Provision and Limits01:46 Personal Experiences and Lessons02:29 God's Role in Fulfilling Our Needs05:28 Recognizing God's Provision10:57 Trusting God Fully12:22 Conclusion and Prayer

Identity, worthiness, being enough- It's not about you and what you can do but about what God can do in you! This is so counterintuitive. We put pressure on ourselves and are disappointed by our failures or mistakes because we fall short. We want to prove we are worthy but the problem is we are not. What if becoming who we have always wanted to be includes confessing that we are not enough and turning to God in our lack. You will find this truth in John 3 as we look at an example of the truth that we have been talking about. What we behold can affect what we believe, how we behave and who we become. In John 3, Nicodemus sees something in Jesus and draws a conclusion about him. Let's listen in and see how Jesus directs Nicodemus to understand what he sees in Him. What we do with this hour, and that one, is what we are doing. A schedule defends from chaos and whim. It is a net for catching days.
