What if you truly believed—deep in your heart—that you are seen, heard, known, and deeply loved by God? What if you could stand firm in your identity as His daughter, free from fear and doubt? This week on The Love Offering Podcast, I had the joy of talking with Amy Seiffert, author of Your Name is Daughter. Amy reminds us that Jesus befriended, defended, healed, and depended upon women—and He still does the same for us today. In a world that often distorts our worth, she shares stories of unsung women in the Bible and empowers us to embrace our God-given dignity, value, and calling. We discuss: ✨ How our identity as daughters of God has been contested✨ Stories of women in Scripture who remind us of our worth✨ How to exchange fear and doubt for confidence and faith✨ Why YOU are essential in God’s Kingdom Without you, the fullness of God’s image is incomplete. So Much More: Creating Space for God (Lectio Divina and Scripture Meditation)

Why do we fast? There are many reasons, but one main reason is to draw near to God.   During the season of Lent, Christians traditionally practice fasting. In this conversation with Amy Seiffert, author of Starved, we discuss all things fasting, including some how-tos and how-not-tos.   Amy is also the author of Grace Looks Amazing on You and on the teaching team at Brookside Church. She is an affiliate Cru staff member and a regular YouVersion Bible Teacher.   Some highlights from our conversation: Amy tells us the story of her son's diagnosis with Crone's disease. He was eating but was malnourished. As Amy dug in to get intentional about his needed diet change, she realized he wasn't the only one malnourished. God helped her see that she and many others also needed a spiritual diet change. We discuss fasting and some of Amy's attempts to fast – what worked and what didn't. What didn't work was fasting without feasting on God. We talk about fasting from food reveals what really controls us. Amy points out that the passage we meditated on, Matthew 6:16-18, indicates fasting is a practice. Practice implies we will get some things wrong and some things right. Based on Matthew 6, Jesus desired that fasting would remove performance and invite presence. What are some of the wrong motives for fasting? Fasting as a way to try to get something from God. The goal of fasting is to connect and commune with God. And yet, there are times we fast and pray to ask God for things, but if we don't receive our request, will we still worship and trust God? Amy shares some examples of fasting from Scripture and what they had in common. Fasting from food isn't the only way to fast. Amy gives us some ideas for different ways we can fast. Finally, Amy gives us some encouragement for how we can fast well.   You can connect with Amy at https://www.amyseiffert.com/ On Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/amyseiffertblog/ On Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/amyseiffert/ You can order Amy's book here: https://www.tyndale.com/p/starved/9781496460295See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

What are you consuming? What are you filling up on? Is it adding to your anxiety? We are beginning a brand new series today: Overcoming Anxiety. Most of us experience some sort of anxiety, everything from occasional or situational feelings of worry or fear all the way to anxiety disorders where there is frequent and intense, even excessive worry or fear. For the most part, in this series we will be talking about the common, everyday anxiety we all experience, not anxiety disorders. But later in the series, we will hear from a LPC on different types of anxiety and when it's time to see a mental health professional.  So how do we become grounded in peace? We let God intervene. Today Amy Seiffert joins me for a conversation about nourishing ourselves with the things our souls need to be fulfilled. You'll hear us talk about… Spiritual junk food we're consuming Amy's story of overwhelm and her new book Starved Techniques to ground us in peace Amy is also the author of Grace Looks Amazing on You and is on the teaching team at Brookside Church. She is an affiliate Cru staff member and a regular YouVersion Bible teacher. She loves to travel and speak (and try new foods on all of her adventures!). Amy is married to her college sweetheart, Rob, and they live in Bowling Green, Ohio, with their three kids.   MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE Starved: Why We Need a Spiritual Diet Change to Move Us from Tired, Anxious, and Overwhelmed to Fulfilled, Whole, and Free (out March 21st) Luke 15:20 – the prodigal son – So he got up and went to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. Hebrews 10:24-25 – And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. “Connection happens through the cracks.” – Brene Brown   AMY'S FAVORITE 5 Colab Dry Shampoo Tru Earth Laundry Detergent Strips Madewell Sneakers Skin Feels Good Tinted Moisturizer by Lancôme Air Pods   CONNECT WITH AMY Instagram | Facebook | Website   THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSOR Hide and Seek Scriptures Get 15% off your first order with promo code: GTL15

Amy Seiffert is no stranger to the empty, shameful, anxious feelings that social media often leaves us with.   Amy knows that so many of us feel dissatisfied and empty—emotionally, physically, and even spiritually. Our lives are rushed, overflowing, and we're low on joy, fulfillment, peace, and purpose. In our spare moments, we turn to our phones, social media, and a million other little things, desperate for relief, but over time, these distractions become an unhealthy diet for our souls—uplifting us for a moment but ultimately denying us the nourishment we need. When we over consume these imposters that promise a temporary boost but actually leave us weak and weary, we become anxious, fearful, and depleted. These addicting substitutes keep us coming back for more, never providing satisfaction.   But, Amy reminds us, there is hope. We don't have to stay stuck and malnourished. We can become free of shame, disappointment, and anxiety.   Today, Amy Seiffert shares with us how to stop ingesting spiritual junk food and offers simple and replenishing practices like silence, service, and Sabbath that can bring us closer to Jesus. She encourages us to put down our phones, set aside our pride, and let go of the hustle so that we can receive a spiritual diet change that will leave us delightfully content, spiritually healthy, and free to experience the goodness of Jesus.   CONNECT WITH AMY   JOIN JOY FILLED MOTHERS+ LEAVE A REVIEW GET INSIDE THE FREE COMMUNITY

How much more vulnerable would you be with someone who already knew what you were going to say? And what does that have to do with our relationship with God? That’s where we started on this episode. Then Scott shared that even the hardest times can be wonderful when we realize God is with us. Shawna confessed about her speeding problem & the anxiety it added to her life. “Trust God's future promises because of His past faithfulness” Do you find yourself in a routine of casting your cares upon the Lord, only to take them back again? You may find things that temporarily fill your spiritual buckets, but are left once again dry, anxious, and weary. In today's podcast, author and speaker, Amy Seiffert and Joanna talk about tips fo overcoming anxiety. Amy shares powerful tools to help to name our feelings, be honest with ourselves and God, and allow Him to align ourselves to His great plan for us. As we allow these things to draw us closer to Jesus, anxiety and worry can be replaced with peace and God's abundant goodness. Join us as we dive into a deeper understanding of true freedom, and find rest for your anxious souls. Important Takeaways from Show Our feet can be in one space, but our minds can be somewhere else. As we let go of what we try to control, giving it to Jesus, our minds can be realigned in the calling He has for us. As we journal our feelings, we find the root of where they came from and identify them by name. Trusting God with our children means parenting from our knees, and surrendering our treasures to Him. Journaling can help us connect our hearts and thoughts back onto Jesus. Being honest ties our feelings together and readies our hearts for a conversation with God. The same grace that saves us is the same grace that changes us. Make a set time in the day to take your worries to God, not allowing them to consume every part of the day. Remember the goodness of God, the faithful times, and the answered prayers.
