I recently attended the Empowered Podcast Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina, and I wanted to share some key takeaways and insights from this enlightening experience with you all. The Journey to the Empowered Podcast ConferenceAttending the Empowered Podcast Conference was an exciting endeavor. I usually attend the Indy Pod Conference in New Jersey and have been to DC PodFest in the past, so this was a new experience for me. Thanks to a 20% discount code shared by Alex Sanfilippo from PodMatch, I decided to make the five and a half hour drive to North Carolina. The drive was pleasant, filled with beautiful weather and a slew of podcasts to keep me company. First Impressions and Connecting with Fellow PodcastersUpon arriving at the Hyatt in Charlotte, I checked in and immediately gravitated towards the communal table on the second floor, where conversations about podcasting were already underway. Meeting the conference founder and various podcasters felt like reconnecting with old friends. Being around people who share my passion for podcasting was a rejuvenating experience, despite my family sometimes growing weary of me mentioning the word "podcast" countless times. Setting Intentions: A Unique ApproachThe conference kicked off with a unique session on setting intentions, involving a guided visualization exercise to help us focus on our goals and what we wanted to achieve from the conference. We were provided with journals to jot down our thoughts on what we wanted to embrace and let go of, which was a first for me at any conference. This session helped frame my mind positively for the rest of the event. Networking and LearningAn exciting part of the conference was the opportunity to meet Alex Sanfilippo from PodMatch, who gave an insightful talk. One of the highlights for me was how the entire event was woven around the theme of intention and authenticity, especially relevant as my goal is to foster community growth within the podcasting sphere. Defining IntentionTo define what intention means, intention is a plan or goal aimed at achieving a specific purpose. For me, intention signifies clarity and purpose, especially in the context of my podcasts. My key takeaway was the need to be clear about our intentions and how we can be of service to our audience and guests. Refocusing and Building CommunityDuring...

"Watch and see where God is working and join him in his work.. " - Christopher BethHow do you handle that unsettling feeling of needing to do more but not knowing how or what to do?In today's episode, our guest Christopher Beth, founder of The Bucket Ministry, shares his journey of leaving a successful career in business consulting to dedicate his life to serving others and providing clean water. After a life-changing trip to the Brazilian Amazon, Christopher witnessed the devastating effects of unclean water and felt called to make a difference. He discovered a water filter that could provide clean water and also serve as a tool to introduce people to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Christopher and his team have since served over a million people and are committed to expanding their impact.Christophers's BioChristopher Beth is the Founder, Chief Storyteller and Director of The Bucket Ministry, a nonprofit organization that works to provide the love of Jesus and clean water solutions to communities in need around the world.Prior to founding The Bucket Ministry, Christopher worked as a business consultant. He had no intentions to enter full-time ministry until he accompanied his then-high school daughter on a mission trip to the Brazilian Amazon in 2012.While on the first stop on the Amazon River, Christopher witnessed the devastating effects of a lack of access to clean water on communities there when a woman asked him if he was thirsty. He watched her grab glasses, walk to the edge of the river and collect two dirty cups of water. Realizing he couldn't drink this contaminated water, it was in this moment he heard the Lord say to him, “Help them.”He returned home from the mission trip with a conviction to somehow merge the two great scarcities of God and water into one ministry. Thus, The Bucket Ministry was born.Since founding The Bucket Ministry in 2015, Christopher has expanded the ministry's work beyond the Amazon to actively evangelize and provide water filters to over 20 countries. The Bucket Ministry's mission is to share God's love through the gift of safe, clean, drinking water; and Christopher has every intention to realize that mission in every place lacking its spiritual and physical blessings. He is a graduate of The University of Kansas and has been married to his wife Sheri for nearly 30 years. They live in a small town outside Dallas, Texas, and have two children, Savannah and Griffin, grandson Eli, granddaughter Hazel and a new one on the way. Stay Connected:Christopher BethThe Bucket Ministry | WebsiteInstagram | @thebucketministryFacebook | @thebucketministryRachel ScottWebsite| https://rachelgscott.com/Website| http://the5leaps.com/Instagram| https://www.instagram.com/iamrachelgscott/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/iamrachelgscottSponsored Resources Mentioned:5 Week Leap Mentoring: Sign Up HereRGS Group: Learn More HereThe 5 Leaps Quick Guide: Grab it Here

We got to the point, once we had decided that we were moving, one of them decided they were going to ask around to see if somebody else would adopt them so they could stay. Wow, that was a tough, tough time." - Sam SprungerSam's BioI am 43 years old, and live in NW Ohio. My wife, our 4 sons, and two basset hounds moved almost 2 years ago from NE Indiana, where I had lived my entire life. We are huge Chicago Cubs fans, and yes, the best day of our lives was November 2, 2016! : ) I have taught, online, for 4 years, and also have hosted a podcast for almost just as long! The 500 Section Lounge is the product of my wife telling me that I needed to socialize, after I started my online teaching. I decided that I loved to talk, so a podcast made a perfect fit, in my mind! So, October 3, 2019, I started my podcast career. It worked out well, because that next March, we all knew the world came to a screeching halt. One thing that didn't stop was people were still willing, and had SO MUCH TIME, to do interviews! I am the type of person who will talk to absolutely anyone, anywhere, anytime! I love conversing and finding out more about people! There are plenty of times that I will talk, upwards of 5 minutes, to the worker in the check-out line! If we have something to do, my wife will tell me that I can go get the car, so I don't make us late! I just became a grandparent on October 12, 2022! I go by Pops! I didn't want to be grandpa... Pops was fitting for me! I love being Pops! My wife and I love going to our boys' events. It's our "relaxation" time! Husband and Wife Partnership: Working Together to Fulfill Heaven's RewardWorking together as a couple and being a supportive spouse is all about having a sacrificial and supportive heart; it's not about assigning roles or taking notes on who is doing what. It is also about looking at how you can make things happen, getting on the same page, and taking a leap in agreement. Join the conversation with Rachel and Willie Scott, her husband, who is a father of seven, creative, and an entrepreneur at heart. In the episode, they share their husband and wife partnership journey in ministry and business, ups and downs, strategies that have enabled them to create more wins on their path, and a unique ministry experience. They also share the importance of intentional communication, sacrificial support, agreement when making decisions, and how you can operate with confidence as a couple, even in the midst of adversity. If you are a couple getting ready for a transition and want to take a bold leap of faith in business or ministry, this episode is for you!Now let's jump in!TIMESTAMPS[00:01] Episode intro and a quick bio of the guest; Willie, Rachael's husband. [01:42] A little bit about Willie and what he does[02:43] The oneness factor and the origin of the Term "The Scott." [04:43] How Rachael's husband stepped out of his comfort zone to support her[07:21] Overcoming the fear of hearing "No" and operating on confidence[12:55] Working together as a Couple: Rachael's and Willie's Journey in Ministry and Life[15:13] A quick announcement [16:15] The ups and downs of working together as a couple and how to move past them[18:59] Tips on how to work effectively as a couple in business and ministry [20:37] What it looks like to be a supportive spouse: Sacrifice and communication[22:38] Getting on the same page and coming into an agreement to take a leap[24:56] About Rachel and Willie's upcoming podcast[26:20] Willie's parting words on the importance of intentional Communication  [27:18] Rachel's final words on prayer and allowing God to intervene   [27:56] Ending the show and resources to help you take that next leap Notable Quotes “NO” is an opportunity to gather information; once you've gathered the information, you know the questions to ask to get where you want quickly and get a yes faster. Working together as a couple is fun, but it also has its peaks and valleys. Supporting your spouse is not a yes or no answer; it's about looking at how you can make it happen. It's about Sacrifice.Being on the same page is great, but remember you can be on the same page but in different sections. Work on being in total agreement with one another. The most important thing for couples doing life together is intentional communication; if you're not intentionally communicating, it will get rough and harder than it has to be.  Connect With us:Willie J.
