After a brutally cold weekend, the temps are going to be improving this week. A bit chilly today, but highs near 40 degrees the rest of the week. In the news today, nobody won the Powerball jackpot on Saturday with another drawing tonight, Rob Reiner & his wife are found dead in their home, the latest on the shooting at Brown University over the weekend, and the latest on the Bondi Beach shooting as well. In sports, the Packers lost to the Broncos yesterday and Micah Parsons appeared to suffer an ACL injury. Patrick Mahomes also went down with an ALC injury yesterday. The Bucks got trounced by the Nets and the Badger women's volleyball team is into the Final Four! We talked about what's on TV today/tonight and we discussed how pop music has gotten darker over the last 50 years. Also discussed some of our favorite holiday foods! Elsewhere in sports, the Heisman Trophy was awarded over the weekend, the Brew Crew made a trade and the Badger men's basketball team is off until later this week. A list of some facts about "Home Alone" that you might not know, and speaking of being "home alone"...a breakdown of PornHub's year-in-review! Wonderful story about a farmer's widow who got some serious help from the community when she needed it the most. And another fun story about a guy who had a very interesting proposal for his fiancé. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a stolen car that got towed, a brawl at a Whole Foods, an update on the DoorDash driver who allegedly pepper-sprayed a couple's food after dropping it off, and a guy who got stuck on his roof while leaf-blowing. Citizen Action of Wisconsin executive director Robert Kraig joins to discuss how the state should handle data centers and energy costs. We also talk healthcare at both the state and federal level, and Wisconsin's gerrymandered US House maps, as there are two lawsuits pending seeking to change them. We began the show, though, since Citizen Action is based in Milwaukee, discussing the Bucks potential trade of Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Brewers talk of getting rid of ace pitcher Freddy Peralta — using “small market” as the excuse. Next we dive into healthcare. At the state level, we talk about a recent report showing Wisconsin teachers spending 20% of their salaries on healthcare. Federally, we hit on the US Senate voting down both the extension of ACA subsidies and a GOP plan that would have let people buy into high-deductible bronze or catastrophic plans and receive a direct deposit of up to $1,000 into a Health Savings Account to cover out-of-pocket costs. In the second half of the show, we deep dive on data centers in Wisconsin and how the state should handle their massive energy consumption with more solar power. We also talk about how there’s literally rules against residents creating solar farms and no incentive for power companies to create more solar because it’s not profitable. Lastly, we talk about Wisconsin’s gerrymandered US House maps, as two lawsuits go through the courts that could upend the current lines.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

An early look at rumored potential trades to the Knicks and Heat and if the Bucks should 100% make the decision to move on from Giannis. The Celtics' 5 game win streak comes to an end after a true tale of two halves. They lost 116-101 after being up 67-60 in the first half. They scored 35 points in the first quarter and just 34 points in the entire second half.... They shot 15 for their last 54 which is just 27% and ended the game at 38.6% from the field which is their lowest of the year. JB and Walsh combined for 50 of the teams 101 points and did it on a very efficient 66% from the field and 62% from 3 so that really goes to show you how poorly everyone else shot in this one.... Bobby Portis and Kyle Kuzma were unstoppable and shifted this game entirely for the Bucks. We break it all down along with a full player analysis in the podcast. That was painful. The Celtics, who crushed it in the first half, came out unbelievably cold in the 3rd quarter and suffered a disappointing loss against a Giannis-less Bucks.

What do FDR and the current alleged president have in common? What gubernatorial candidate promised voters to make their "wet dreams" come true? It all comes to light in my interview with writer/comedienne/farmer/TN State House candidate Ali Simpson (44:28) on why she's running for office for the first time, what that process is like & what are the main concerns of her & her neighbors in western Tennessee.First: The Mets losing 2 of their best & most-beloved players in a 24-hour period; Barry Bonds & Roger Clemens missing out again on the HOF is the best kind of good news; MLB scribes should stop carrying water for management, esp. with a work stoppage nearing; and why the Giannis news is awful no matter what team you root for or what kind of fan you are
Celtics have their win streak snapped in Milwaukee against the Bucks. It was a competitive first half, and then the Celtics shooting fell off a cliff in the second half. Meanwhile Kyle Kuzma and Bobby Portis went lights out. A rough loss, but a loss that Joe Mazzulla will probably enjoy reminding the team about over the next few days. Jaylen drops another 30 burger, and Walsh scores 20. Hump Day is here and we're once again digging out. Feels like we've gotten some snow almost every day for the last week. It was that heavy, wet stuff last night. Yuck. In the news this morning, an update on tonight's Powerball drawing, some new license plates in WI, a person in Door County was trying to use a flashlight for a headlight on their vehicle, and a social media ban for kids in Australia. Lots of stuff going on this morning! We let you know what's on TV today/tonight and we talked about how movie theaters can help increase attendance in the future. Plus, we made our Week 15 Pigskin Picks! Speaking of Week 15, we took a look at the NFC North schedule for this weekend's action. And also in sports, the Badger men's basketball team takes on undefeated Nebraska tonight, the Bucks are at home against the Celtics tomorrow night, Philip Rivers is officially on the Colts again, Trey Hendrickson had surgery earlier this week and is done for the season, Kyle Schwarber gets a deal from the Phillies and Edwin Diaz is moving to L.A. Talked about some "Soft Skills" that can help you get a job in the new year. And a list of common tropes in Christmas movies and how to avoid them. This time of year, it's important to remember that you should try to shovel out the fire hydrants in your neighborhood, like this 9 year-old in Iowa. And a NYC doorman is going viral for collecting toys & warm clothing for people in need during the holiday season. Elsewhere in sports, the White Sox scored the #1 overall pick in the upcoming MLB draft, the NHL players might skip the 2026 Olympics if they don't think the ice is safe enough, and the Notre Dame AD is getting called out by the Big 12 Commissioner. New term for people who aren't quite a full introvert or extrovert. We're supposed to call them "otroverts" now. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a guy in Oklahoma who tried to rob a liquor store with an interesting weapon, a 64 year-old man who's known for playing Santa Claus that just got busted for kiddie porn, a #FloridaWoman who got arrested for DUI and tried to hide a bunch of pills in her vagina, a deer that broke into a Christmas store & got stuck in a chair, and the results of GameStop's "Trade Anything Day".See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this week's episode of Bleav in Celtics, Courtney Tate dives into Boston's eighth straight win — a hard-fought battle against the Toronto Raptors. She breaks down how the Celtics built and nearly lost a 23-point lead, before Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, Payton Pritchard, and Jordan Walsh stepped up big to close it out. Jaylen Brown is cooking — posting his eighth 30-point game in the last 14 outings and leading Boston confidently in Jayson Tatum's absence. Derrick White and Payton Pritchard are showing signs of revival, while Jordan Walsh is proving to be a defensive menace in his 12th consecutive start. But it's not all perfect — rebounding woes, third-quarter droughts, and interior defense remain concerns. Courtney also discusses whether the Celtics should target another big man before the trade deadline — with eyes reportedly on Dallas' Daniel Gafford. Plus, she previews the upcoming matchups vs. the Bucks and Pistons and explains why this next week could define Boston's mid-season identity. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Today's word of the day is ‘best fit' as in Giannis Antetokounmpo as in Milwaukee as in the Bucks as in Doc Rivers as in trade. It looks like Giannis finally wants out. He didn't ask for a trade, but he asked for a trade. Should Milwaukee facilitate that? Will his latest calf injury keep him from being traded? (12:00) The Los Angeles Clippers have released Chris Paul in what was supposed to be his retirement tour season. What a mess. It looked like Paul and head coach Tyronn Lue just couldn't get on the same page. (26:30) Zion Williamson is hurt again. Going to miss another three weeks.
