A market transformation for lighting controls is coming whether we are ready or not. Carol contends we've seen market transformation before, several times, but there are growing expectations for interoperability in the construction industry and lighting needs to be in on the conversation. If lighting professionals don't step up and leave their silo, other trades or groups may take over, forever changing the landscape of lighting and lighting controls. In this episode, find out how DALI can help you be a part of the Interoperability conversation! Carol is a 35-year veteran of the lighting industry, with a diverse background as a lighting specifier, a ‘labbie' at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Carol has been involved in more than 15 industry leadership and support roles over the years and has 40-plus presentations as well as 20 publications under her belt. She credits her ability to achieve consensus and market transformation to having 5 planets in the house of Virgo and starting her career in Theatrical Lighting and Production Management.

Monday morning live with Natasa Denman featuring one of her transformed authors, Carol Jones. Carol Jones calls herself a very grateful recovering alcoholic! After destructively drinking her way through her teens and 20's, the day finally came when she said ‘Enough is Enough! When she apprehensively tip-toed through the doors of AA over 2 decades ago, Carol heard a very grim statistic that only 2% of alcoholics get given the gift of sobriety; and of that 2%, only 2% remain sober for the first 2 years! A very sobering fact indeed; no pun intended! Carol vowed & declared that she would do whatever it took to remain sober, and if she made that 2-year milestone she would write a book about it to help others do the same! Since that life-changing day in 1993, Carol has witnessed numerous men & women coming in and out of AA rooms… abstaining from alcohol for a short time… only to be seduced back to the liquid poison again; lured back by the false hope that things will be different this time & the boozing won't get out of control. Fresh off the press is her promised book; ‘A Sober Lifestyle - Surviving the First 2 years & Beyond'. This easy & engaging read was born to help give relief & hope to anyone wanting to finally break free from the shackles of the cunning, baffling and powerful demon drink. 3 sober takeaways: 1: Alcoholism doesn't discriminate 2: There is hope for those struggling with alcohol dependency 3: That family, friends & healthcare professionals gain a better understanding of addiction Get Carol's book at these links: Australia: tinyurl.com/asoberlifestyleaud International: tinyurl.com/asoberlifestyleint Find us at http://www.writeabook.com.au Join our Facebook Community: Author Your Way to Riches: https://www.facebook.com/groups/autho... Today’s guest is Carol Jones the Financial Planning Apprentice for Urban Wealth Management. Carol’s interest in financial planning stems from the struggles she experienced in helping her family with everything from budgeting to retirement. She was selected as one of two recipients of the 2019 Association of African American Financial Advisors Dalton Education Scholarship and is enrolled in the Certificate of Financial Planning program at Pepperdine University. Carol has a heart for empowering people, especially women and younger generations to fulfill their dreams from a spiritual, academic and financial perspective.  Today Carol will share with us more about her personal financial story and what led her to pursue a career with financial planning. She’s worked hard to learn about different financial areas not only for herself but to help her Grandmother and parents to get on the right track in areas where there was a gap.  In This Episode We Discuss: How Carol’s piggy bank was the start to her financial education Why you should challenge the stigma about attending community college The small scholarships that many people overlook Why you shouldn’t create silos from the different areas of your financial future The conversations you should be having with family and friends about finances You can support and learn more about Carol at Urban Wealth Management or on Instagram.     Life Behind The Scenes With The Ironing Diva. Fear. It Hobbles Everyone. Podcast Episode 2.   Success. Failure. Struggle. In business. I’ve walked that walk! And built a worldwide business from broke. Hello! I'm Carol Jones. And I'm the Ironing Diva. And this is my story. My partner and I lost everything in Australia's 1992 'recession we had to have'. Everything. Home. 2 businesses. Cars. Personal possessions. Pulling ourselves up by our bootstraps, we did what everyone said we couldn't do. We reinvented ourselves. And created a worldwide business, The Fitz Like A Glove Ironing Board Cover And Other Goodies. Along the way, we also carved out an enviable lifestyle on our beautiful, remote rural property, in the picturesque hill country of The Central Tablelands of NSW. Let me tell you though. It was a roller coaster ride along this Yellow Brick Road. It was peppered with despairing lows. And extraordinary highs. We had to overcome the self-doubt that plagued us. Rise above the fear of the unknown. And be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Life Behind The Scenes With The Ironing Diva are my stories about 'How We Built A Worldwide Business From Broke'. ~Carol Jones, Ironing Diva❤     Subscribe by Email

And built a worldwide business from broke. These are stories about how me and my partner, Victor Pleshev, created a new life out of the ashes of Paul Keating's 1992 'recession we had to have'. How did we design 8 products? And get them to market? How did we build a worldwide business from broke? How did we carve out a rural lifestyle that is the envy of our friends? And our customers? How did we create a beautiful hectare of garden out of a barren paddock sitting atop an infertile rock shelf? It wasn’t easy. But this is the business and the lifestyle that we built from scratch. Carol Jones - The humble product that raised us up from the ashes, the Fitz Like A Glove Ironing Board Cover, now has 250,000 one on one customers around the world. And many of them are friends because my business is very personal, very warm and very caring. All my products are made with love and care in rural Australia by men and women who have a disability. They put their heart & soul into everything they do. And it shows. The sewing company we use is 90 minutes further west and has been a successful partnership since 1994. It took us 14 gruelling years to pay off debt and establish a successful business based on one of the most boring products in the world. But we're now in a place that's the envy of our friends and customers. My story has been written about in every major publication in Australia and many places online. Steve Hemphill gets the message across that loving your customers is what makes you successful. And when you show them you'll walk over broken glass to make them happy, they'll do the same for you. This is my website http://www.interfaceaustralia.com Click on the link to my podcasts and start with May 2009. Look at the titles. Every one is about what you love to discuss. If you click on my blog icon, Ironing Diva, you'll discover what kind of person I am. I graduated Abilene Christian University in 1979 with a degree in Marketing. Owned a technology company in East Texas for 28 years. Wrote a book on heaven, "My search for the Real Heaven" in 2009. The response was so enthusiastic that I sold out my company to my Christian partners, and now pursue full time ministry. If we're not EXCITED about heaven, it KILLS the spirit of enthusiasm.
