How to See Infinite Possibilities Instead of Limited Options

“I had no choice”, “this is how it has to be”, and “it is what it is” - for some people these aren't just statements, these are the basis of their entire reality.  Rather than seeing themselves as architects with a wealth of choices to shape their lives, they feel resigned to the idea that things are fixed just as they are. No alternatives and no changes.   This way of thinking goes back to the same place: the old stories we run in our minds become the cages that limit our own lives. It's like we're sitting in a container that shrinks our possibilities, but we can open the door anytime we want.  In any given situation, there are many possible choices but if our field of view is limited, we'll never allow ourselves to see them. The result? We give our power away to the external world, and feel oppressed by the misery of seemingly being choiceless.  How do we learn to shift out of all these stories, and truly tap into our creative engine that gives us hundreds of choices? How do we see endless possibilities where others see limited options?  In this episode, we talk about how to stop limiting yourself and believing you have no choices.  Things You'll Learn In This Episode  -Be Response-ABLE People limit their own choices because of fear. How do you reclaim responsibility and start to see all the other options that are available to you?  -Activate curiosity and wonder  How do we identify the old stories that are making us feel choiceless, how do we change the framework? -Make a new choice Let's admit it: old stories are comforting because they are familiar, not because they are helpful. How do we create a new context around curiosity and choices?    Register for Katie's Newest Program, Cultivating New Stories for Humanity, and learn how to create new stories that serve your ultimate aliveness and expansion! A Symphony Within: The Dance Between Energy, Mass, and Space w/ Gay Hendricks

Are we mass, energy or space? That's the question many have pondered time and time again. The answer: we're all 3 at the same time.  We are not just bodies of mass, though we feel the weight of our flesh, the solidity of our bones. Beneath this, there is a huge symphonic panorama inside of us, and when we tap into it, we can experience true healing and freedom. Often we focus on the mass aspect of existence, but the energetic aspect has a lot more power.  The ever-shifting flow of energy that rises and falls within us expresses itself as emotion, movement, and sensation. The rush of excitement, the pang of sorrow, the heaviness of grief—these are all movements of energy that can shape our physical experience. Beyond the mass of our bodies and the energy within, there is space. When we tap into that space, we find a sense of peace, a realization that we are not just our thoughts or emotions, but something much greater. How do we access space and energy? How do we stop identifying with the fluctuations of energy and start identifying with the space that holds it?  In this episode, we're joined by Gay Hendricks to talk about the power of mass, energy, and space, and how to stop living from the surface, but from the deeper, expansive place within us.    Things You'll Learn In This Episode  - Getting unstuck from your body traumas  The mass that is our body is a repository of personal and generational grief and trauma. How does energy and space heal all of these things?     - From repression to release We all possess within us an energy that flows freely. What are some of the things that compress this energy or misuse it?   - Learn to be with fear One way humans do away with fear is trying to control everything. Why is letting go of control a necessary step to tapping into the expansive space with us? Guest Bio Gay Hendricks has served for more than 30 years as one of the major contributors to the fields of relationship transformation and bodymind therapies. Along with his wife, Dr. Kate Hendricks, Gay is the author of many bestsellers, including Conscious Loving, At The Speed Of Life, The Big Leap, and the New York Times bestseller, Five Wishes. Willingness, Not Willpower: The Secret to Generating Endless Energy

Be. Play. Love.

The energy of connection knows no limitations. It has the ability to shift us from tired to fully engaged in seconds. It creates a magical space of discovery and joy where there was none. It also creates aliveness, and a limitless resource of energy that regenerates constantly. How do we find this energy for ourselves and tap into it? Accessing the energy of connection starts with a willingness, not a will. When we will ourselves to do something we're forcing the energy, and that won't create connection or engagement. Willingness, on the other hand, is a soft step into something beautiful, not a hard charge towards it.  This creates a path to connection and a portal to curiosity that will effortlessly keep us energized, even if we felt tired before. In this space, energy can be shared and radiated out beautifully.  How do we learn to generate energy? How do we step into the unknown rather than the familiar (and miserable)? In this episode, we talk about how to create the energy of connection.  Things You'll Learn In This Episode  -Fatigue vs. fear  Sometimes the reason we feel tired is because we're actually afraid, and that fear is making us flee out of our bodies. How do we tell the difference between fear and a genuine lack of energy?  -Willingness and will are not the same thing  It's hard to fully say yes, when it feels a bit like a no. When we're not all in on something, how do we make a decision about what we want to do? -Make one new choice Giving energy creates more energy. If it feels like we're lacking energy, how can we generate it by doing one small thing?    About Your Hosts Kathlyn Hendricks, Ph.D., BC-DMT*, is an evolutionary catalyst and freelance mentor who has been a pioneer in the field of body intelligence and conscious loving for over forty years. Have you ever said yes to so many things and then realize you've overcommitted and now have way too much on your plate? Or maybe you agreed to something and then your circumstances changed and you just don't have the bandwidth for it anymore? Or perhaps an initial ‘yes' is now slowly morphing into a ‘no' now that you have more info… Noticing and voicing a change in agreement is something a lot of people struggle with - something we really have to practice to maintain and increase our aliveness. We might feel guilty about wanting to change things up, or just decide to go through with something we don't actually want. But here's the thing: it's a lot better to speak up than it is to do something that gets us out of alignment. Instead of writing a pros and cons list, our bodies will always tell us if we should still follow through with an agreement. If we learn to pay attention to this wisdom, we can navigate these choices better. There are so many ways to renegotiate an agreement…we can change the time, sequence and amount of ourselves that we give. But first, we must get comfortable with advocating for ourselves. How do we notice our inner conflict about an agreement? How do we handle changed agreements with self-kindness? In this episode, we talk about moving through a ‘yes' that has become a ‘no'. Things You'll Learn In This Episode  Learn to negotiate with yourself  Sometimes an earlier commitment we made has to be changed because we no longer have the same bandwidth that we did before. How do we recalibrate and recommit with kindness?  Use your whole body wisdom When it comes to making a choice, most people list the pros and cons. How do we explore our inner landscape for the right answer?  Integrity = alignment  How do we navigate and renegotiate a change in an agreement without fleeing from ourselves?   About Your Hosts Kathlyn Hendricks, Ph.D., BC-DMT*, is an evolutionary catalyst and freelance mentor who has been a pioneer in the field of body intelligence and conscious loving for over forty years. From Dysfunction to Delight: How to Remap Your Relationship Template

You meet someone, start a relationship thinking “this is something new”...and then it turns out to be the same old pattern repeating itself. What gives? Everyone seeks relationships that nourish them - we want to be with people who love us, see us, make us feel safe, and to be regarded with value and appreciation. But so many of us keep finding ourselves in dysfunctional relationships and end up picking the same type of people over and over again. How do we break this cycle and learn to pick the right people for us? How do we even end up this way in the first place? Well…who we pick will always trace back to what we grew up seeing and how we feel about ourselves. The relationship frameworks we see in our early years become the template we apply to the partners we choose later in life. If we emerge from childhood with struggles with self-love and worthiness, we'll keep attracting connections that vibrate at that level. But here's the good news: if we learned something, we can unlearn it and replace it with something better. How do we create a new template for love and connection? In this episode, we talk about how to repair a defective ‘partner picker', and why it all starts with self love.   Things You'll Learn In This Episode  Why we pick the same people  Our families, environments and even our cultures determine a lot about the love we think is possible. How do we unlearn dysfunction?   First regard yourself with value and appreciation  Better relationships start with a better relationship with ourselves. How do we create a new roadmap based on loving ourselves?    How to spot low resonance  Part of why we end up in dysfunctional relationships is not being able to pick up when someone is dishonest, selfish or lacks integrity. How do we improve our own internal tuning fork so we can notice when something doesn't feel right? Being told “don't be too much”, “don't be full of yourself”, or “how dare you earn great money doing what you love?” Only looking for what's wrong in your appearance. Feeling strange and squirmy when we get a compliment. Diminishing the accomplishments we should happily celebrate or even apologizing when we do something well. Achieving something amazing and then sabotaging yourself right after. These are all manifestations of The Upper Limit Problem, and in many ways, it's the biggest problem almost all people face. At the heart of this issue is our inability to hold more positive energy, to expand beyond the box we were conditioned to confine ourselves in. It's as if from birth a message is programmed into us - that there's only so much succeeding to go around and we might be using it all up, so we must make ourselves smaller and take up less attention. What if we could change this? What if we could expand to the widest edges of our essence and genius, dare to be in our muchness and stop apologizing for our greatness? As we head into this new year, that's the challenge - increasing our capacity for joy, success, love and essence. Dare to say “I'm totally lovable and I deserve to be here.” In this special episode, we revisit some of our favorite conversations where we discuss the upper limit problem, and how to break through self-imposed or cultural ceilings.  You'll also learn;  The root of The Upper Limit Problem Tall Poppy Syndrome and why women diminish their accomplishments  How to change our association with money (it's not a bad thing!) How to Engage in the Holidays Without Abandoning Yourself

Holidays and family gatherings are the ultimate test of our ability to be with ourselves, and how well we've healed from our personal difficulties. When people come together, it triggers all sorts of challenges - unspoken tensions and tribal rules, old behavioral patterns, and people acting out because they can't express their own wants. In these environments, it's really easy to get outside of ourselves and get swept up by the drama of the dynamic, and stay there until it depletes us…but it doesn't have to be that way. There's a way for us to stay in equilibrium and circulate our attention so that we're caring for ourselves while authentically engaging with others. All of this starts with understanding what we want, being able to receive it, and then loving ourselves enough to be with ourselves. From there, we can create a little home within when things get weird, tense, or challenging. How does the act of looping our awareness make for a better experience when being around people? How do we identify when we need to tend to our own wellbeing? In this episode, we talk about how to deal with all the complex emotions and patterns that are triggered by family gatherings.   Things You'll Learn In This Episode Judgment is a flee move  One of the things many of us are prone to do in gatherings is to start internally judging what we deem wrong. Why is this actually a fear-based action?  Love yourself enough to say what you want Gatherings also bring us in contact with a hard truth: most people don't actually know what they want exactly. How do we learn to identify this for ourselves?  Don't keep score Being around our families and people we knew in our formative years can bring up a lot of old patterns that existed back then or people might treat us differently. How do we handle this with loving awareness? Learn to loop  In collective settings, it's really easy to abandon ourselves in favor of making everyone else happy. The word “no” is two simple letters, but it's one of the hardest things to say, especially for women. We're taught to always be agreeable, accommodating and automatically say yes to anything we're asked to do. That's why people can go their whole lives without actually knowing how to say ‘no'. So our default answer is “oh sure” or “yes, of course” even if it's to our own detriment. Our place of ‘no' is already inside us, we just have to find it and vocalize it in order to release our genuine power. It might feel unfamiliar, and we may have to practice at first, but honoring our ‘no' is the only way to truly own our space and stand in our power. Why is it so hard to say no? How do we build our no muscles? In this episode, we talk about why we don't know how to say no, and how to make a place for it in our vocabulary.   Things You'll Learn In This Episode  -Say no with no ifs, buts or maybes One of the ways we try to compromise with our no is by saying things like “maybe” or “I'll try.” What happens when we say yes to things we don't really want? -Practice saying no No can be a lot to say out loud if we're not used to it. How do we get comfortable with it?  -No before yes  A full body yes is an important thing we need to honor, but how can we genuinely say yes if we don't know how to say no first?  About Your Hosts Kathlyn Hendricks, Ph.D., BC-DMT*, is an evolutionary catalyst and freelance mentor who has been a pioneer in the field of body intelligence and conscious loving for over forty years. We just can't help but immerse ourselves in every aspect of the richness of lived experience. We're constantly balancing what's coming through us and what's coming at us from the rest of the world. You're Not too Old For Play: How to Enrich Your Life With Creativity

When we're young, we're encouraged to play, learn new things and express our creativity in endless ways. As we grow up, we find out that we can't carry that same energy into adulthood - that society places an expiry date on learning new things. If you're a grown up, it's time to be responsible, serious, predictable - there's no room for play and discovery.  Not only is that no fun at all, it also robs us of two things that make life worthwhile - curiosity and creativity.  Meeting life with an attitude of curiosity is one of the distinguishing characteristics of a successful life, but we're often taught to block ourselves off from that. The good news is, we can interrupt this pattern and bring unexpected curiosity into our daily lives. But first, we have to welcome creativity with both arms, and be okay with things being messy and unpredictable.  How do we make room for expression and creativity? How do we break away from feeling like we're too old for play and discovery? In this episode, we talk about how to get back in touch with creativity, and why it leads to a more enriched life.    Things You'll Learn In This Episode  -Continuum of choice vs. limited options As a society, we have a tendency for polarities and limiting ourselves to either-or choices. How do we open up the possibility for so much more?  -Open your fan, express your creativity  Creativity is something we all have but we have to break out of our routines to find it. How do we find what makes life feel like a celebration, rather than a duty?  -Why creativity is scary Many of us are uncomfortable with the messiness of creativity because it's the opposite of the perfect persona we created for love and approval. How do we embrace the messiness from a place of safety?     About Your Hosts Kathlyn Hendricks, Ph.D., BC-DMT*, is an evolutionary catalyst and freelance mentor who has been a pioneer in the field of body intelligence and conscious loving for over forty years. The path from self-destruction to self-love isn't a straight line. Often when we commit to a kinder relationship with ourselves, we falter and self-sabotage and that leads to guilt and shame, which leads to more self-sabotage. But shame will never fuel a real transformation. What if we could interrupt this spiral with something more friendly? What if we could tap into even the tiniest amount of self-love? Most people don't realize that shame is actually a fuel, and our society conditions us to feed our souls that way, but it doesn't work. Like eating junk food everyday, you get a certain type of nourishment, but it doesn't actually sustain us. That's why we're starved for a sense of our own worthiness, and try to fill our reservoir with all the wrong things. When we love ourselves through self-sabotage, we stop getting fuel from beating ourselves up and start to mend the hole inside and fill our reservoir with self-love. How do we unlearn self-destructive behaviors and tap into even the slightest sense of self-love? In this episode, we talk about how to increase our capacity for self-loving actions.    Things You'll Learn In This Episode Create a new model of wholeness If we grew up in environments where people were rewarded for concealing their truth, how do we learn to honor and express how we feel?  Adrenaline vs. presence  Shame and guilt might not feel good, but many of us are fueled by them. When we make a mistake, how can we get out of adrenaline and into presence? Drops of love If we've always struggled with self-sabotage, it's hard to quickly shift to self-love. Attention is one of the most important aspects of human existence, but also the most misunderstood and misused.  When we give attention to ourselves in a nurturing and curious way, it's a powerful medicine that supports our essence and self-love. When we seek it through external validation it becomes a destructive drug we can never get enough of.  So many people get these two things mixed up and find themselves leaning more on the attention they receive for what they do and achieve.  Of course attention and affection from people who love us is incredibly nourishing, but instead of making it the whole cake, it should just be the cherry on top! How do we start  regarding ourselves with love, curiosity, enough-ness? For women, one of the biggest battles we fight is with the size of our bodies. Parents, media and society as a whole have conditioned us to believe that our bodies are wrong. Every food choice we make - whether it's healthy or unhealthy - is run by our relationship with ourselves. Each bite falls into one of two categories. We're either confirming that we're not enough or we're affirming that we are enough. We might not even know it, but how we eat and what we eat goes back to the painful conclusions we made about ourselves in our formative years. What is the gateway to form a loving relationship with ourselves and food? How do we start befriending our bodies instead of battling them? In this episode, we're joined by multiple New York Times bestselling author, Geneen Roth. We talk about how to change our relationship with food by going back to where it all began. In life, relationships and business, big pivots are preceded by an internal pull towards something new. Your intuition is telling you it's time to complete a cycle and follow the surge of expansion into the unknown. There's an inner knowing that it's time to leap into what's next. This creates a rollercoaster of emotions - on one hand, you feel the peace and clarity that comes with honoring yourself. On the other hand, you have to deal with the fall out of parting ways with something you've been doing. Here's the thing: the back and forth, the doubt, the tears and the joy and expansion are all part of the pivot. In order to complete the arc and land gently in the new thing, we have to honor the messiness. We have to let the cycle complete organically. This was the journey Jesse Israel found himself on. On two occasions, he's felt that inner pull to something new, and as scary as it was, he honored it. How did tapping into his intuition trigger a transition? How do we move through a transition by letting intuition lead the way? In this episode, the meditation leader, speaker, leadership coach and founder of The Big Quiet tells us what the process of pivoting was like, and how he was able to move through it with grace. There's so much power and potency in honoring that intuition. The wavering and back and forth was so necessary because it helped me understand even more why the gut is the way. -Jesse Israel   Things You'll Learn In This Episode   -Make your inner knowing louder than external pressure Very often, pivots push us in the opposite direction of what we've been doing for years. How do we lean into our intuitive calling to transition when the external world is [loudly] telling us to stay where we are?   -The turmoil (and triumph) of transitions Pivots bring up doubt and we constantly go back and forth on the decision, even when we know it's right. How do we cultivate trust and find joy in the not knowing and emotional ups and downs?   -Let the cycle end organically Completing cycles is really hard - so hard in fact, that people tend to resist the change. Generosity Is Easy, Receiving Care Is Hard...Here's Why

Be. Play. Love.

The whole point of living in true connection with others is the social exchange of giving and receiving love and care. Many of us don't have any problem with the giving part - we do that freely. But when it comes to being the recipient of that gift? Not so much, and it manifests in many ways.   You could be the caregiver struggling to carve out space to care for yourself.   Or you're the friend not sure exactly how to be there for someone in a vulnerable time.   Perhaps you're the care-getter feeling uncomfortable with needing others. Or maybe someone did something nice for you and you're putting yourself under intense pressure to reciprocate.   In all these instances, we run into the difficulty we have with the concept of care. The thing is: the river of connection has to flow for connection to flourish. Any resistance to care actually stops the flow and robs us of the richness of aliveness.   Why do we have such a hard time receiving care? How do we give care without depleting ourselves? In this episode, we talk about why caregiving is so emotionally complex and how we can get past it.    Part of the richness of living is the giving and the receiving of the abundance we experience when we're living in love and flow. -Katie Hendricks   Things You'll Learn In This Episode    -Offer presence and care When someone has experienced a loss, a common thing to ask is how we can help them. Does this actually create more stress in a difficult time?    -Taking care of yourself when you're the caregiver When you're in the role of supporting someone else, it's really easy to play the hero and overlook yourself to the point of depletion. How do you make space to pay attention to yourself?    -The truth about being cared for How we feel about receiving love and care has a lot to do with whether or not we feel lovable. What steps can we take to feel worthy of the support of others?    -Nature isn't transactional People have a hard time receiving love and care but in nature, the flowers don't refuse the pollination of bees. How do we embrace the fact that receiving love is just as important as giving it?    About Your Hosts   Kathlyn Hendricks, Ph.D., BC-DMT*, is an evolutionary catalyst and freelance mentor who has been a pioneer in the field of body intelligence and conscious loving for over forty years. In our relationships with others, there are going to be wrinkles, miscommunications and misunderstandings. Depending on how they are dealt with, they can make bonds stronger or break them down completely.   A small dropped stitch of disconnection doesn't have to disintegrate the entire fabric of a friendship. There is a way to express how we feel without completely breaking down the flow of connection and irreparably rupturing the relationship.   In fact, we can use these challenging moments to bring things to the surface, clarify our communication and ultimately move through the messiness together.   The challenge is: a lot of people tend to completely call off the game when there's a miscommunication, but it's so much better to commit to keep the game going!   How do we turn the wrinkles of communication into an invitation to increase the flow of connection? How do we learn to stop calling off the game? In this episode, we talk about a recent interruption, and what we can learn from it to make our relationships more alive.  Things You'll Learn In This Episode    -A vibratory difference When we're moving into an expansive season and making a big leap, not everyone is going to come along. Is it possible to stay connected despite a momentary lapse in closeness?    -Repair, recommit and reinvent A relationship with a mutual commitment to move through the messiness is full of aliveness - it's so much juicier! Human beings are on a constant search for synchronicity, connection, and aliveness, but those things are easier to access than we think.   Those “oh my gosh, this is so wild” moments are all around us, but we can't experience them when our own channels are clogged up with emotional debris.   For most people, getting tapped into this channel of wonder comes on the back of a radical shift in consciousness often brought on by the notion of our mortality. Being reminded of our own impermanence has a way of waking us up. Could we make this shift happen without something terrible happening?   Being clogged up doesn't just rob us of synchronicity, it's like smoking an emotional cigarette that damages your health. The more aware we become of this unseen part of our health, the more we'll feel like the universe is guiding us in a beautiful way. That, in turn, will allow us to experience magic in the mundane.   How do we kickstart change in ourselves and the world around us? Today, we're delighted to be joined by CEO and Co-Founder of SuperMush, Alli Schaper. We talk about practices that will deepen our experience of aliveness.    Things You'll Learn In This Episode    -Plug into synchronicity  Synchronicity surrounds us at all times, it's something we can easily access if our channels are unclogged. How do we clear the debris so we can experience it?   -Changing without crisis On an individual level and collectively, periods of contraction incite a lot of momentum in a beautiful way that allows us to move consciousness forward. Is there a way we can make that momentum happen without a negative trigger?   -Consume or co-create As humans, we're either operating as source or operating as a machine. The Unarguable Truth: How to Experience the Deliciousness of Your Realness

One of the uncomfortable truths about human beings is that telling the truth and saying what's real is very difficult. In fact, some of us believe that lying about our experience preserves trust and makes our relationships stronger.   In reality, this discomfort with truth is a discomfort with feeling our feelings and expressing our real emotions.   That in turn dampens our spontaneity, disconnects us from our realness, and robs our relationships of the authenticity they need to be strong and fulfilling.   It's impossible to truly BE WITH if we're not expressing our unarguable truth. So many of us have spent years shoving our emotions down, and that means we're actually living a lie with ourselves and the people around us.   Learning to feel our feelings starts with honoring what we're experiencing.   How do we learn to tell our unarguable truth? In this episode, we talk about how to open up about your feelings and why it makes for better relationships.   As people, we all feel and that's part of what makes us people. We're messy and we're structured - integrating those things is what makes us whole, not one or the other. -Sophie Chiche     Four Things You'll Learn In This Episode    -Honor your feeling state As humans, we've been taught to lean into logic because unlike our emotions, it's neater and easier to control. Is that why so many people struggle to feel and tell the truth? How do we start speaking from discovery/experience?   -Give yourself a breath hug When we don't let sadness move through us and we push down our emotions, it disconnects us from ourselves and it creates a massive feelings backlog. How do we start to unravel our feelings?    -Learn to love with a spine For those of us who are immensely empathetic, it's easy for someone else's emotions to overpower ours. How do we love others without abandoning ourselves?   -The deliciousness of being real Telling the truth clears up the emotional debris and allows us to experience the full range of our aliveness. As woman we find it very difficult to say no to any request that comes our way. We have been taught to be helfpful, and kind and be yes women. And so we have been trained to want to please everyone and put everyone else ahead of our own needs. Even when we don’t have the time or the desire to do so. Sometimes we even feel our body resisting, but we don’t listen! All this people pleasing…leads us to a live a life we may not have wanted. In today’s episode of Food, Success & Life for the Modern Woman, Katie Hendricks talks to us about learning to tell the difference between the yes and the nos….by taking our cues from our body. Living and loving consciously. Creating the life we truly want to live. It’s amazing that her teachings are in tune with our guest from last week Aimee Eoff, about listening to our body…our intuition. If you didn’t catch that episode, make sure to listen to it next.   What is Conscious Living and Conscious Loving? Conscious Living is being able to fully participate in life by choice, so that we are fully understanding what we really like and don’t like, what we want and don’t want. It allows us to make decisions from the inside out as opposed to from the outside in. The way that most humans are raised is from the outside in, with structures, laws, rules and shaming, to police our behavior. When we live consciously we don’t need all that because we are living in alignment, the way life is flowing. So that if we agree to do something we do it. And we know how to express our feelings and experiences and thoughts. The basic benefit is that we get to be awake and alive. We get to participate fully in our life while we are in it.   How do we Start Living Consciously? So how do we live our life responsively rather than reactively? Where we’re creating our life rather than leaving to the effects of circumstances. Katie’s team has developed the 4 Pillars of Integrity which have to do with healthy responsibility, impeccable agreements, emotional transparency and communication skills. These have recently been created in a deck of cards to look at what skills we have already integrated and which we still need to practice. This would be a great place to start. They can be found on Katie’s website. Type in impeccable, the integrity deck. Also found in her new book: Conscious Loving Ever After: How to Create Thriving Relationships at Midlife and Beyond Your experience of living consciously happens choice by choice. When you feel that you’re really stuck, make just one good choice at a time will give you the confidence to keep learning and growing. It’s never too late in life to make new choices and to start building a life that works for you rather than one that was given to you. How to Understand a No or a Yes When You Ask Yourself a Question? As a beginning exploration, remember a recent tine when you were asked to do something or made a choice and you can feel a contraction in your body, that’s usually a no. When you really don’t want to do something you will feel it on your neck or teeth. The experience of yes in our body experience it as an uprising, expansion feeling through your chest. It feels like champagne bubbles. It has more of a “hah” quality. Women don’t really hear those signals because we have received so much external information. We have to start trusting our own inner signals. It creates a flow of harmony. New FB page The BQ Hub is a page created with classes and tips for how to open up your body intelligence even more. There’s an assessment and lots of information so people can learn to be at home in their bodies. “Use your Body Intelligence to feel the Yes and No” – Katie Hendricks How Do You Reconcile the Opposition With Your Spouse? When your spouse or partner wants to do something but you really don’t want to, how do you reconcile that feeling in your body? Compromise is a relationship killer. When people have to think of a relationships as settling for less, it’s not going to appetizing to anybody. People keep tuning into “what do I really want?” If one person wants to eat one thing, and their partner wants something different, what emerges is a solution not a compromise. It’s more of a synergy. Start practicing with your choice of clothes, or restaurants before you start listening to your body on big decisions like whether you want to marry someone, or whether you want to buy a house.   Tips to Start Engaging With Spouse Toward Conscious Loving Communication is a game of toss. Think of yourself as a toddler in the realm of communication, like tossing a ball back and forth will allow you to be at ease with yourself rather than critical. Say to him “Tell me more” and you’re tossing the communication back on his court. Then you can use “Ooh, then what happened?” And you can also use “What interests you most about that?” Also use body sensations. Katie explains how to do this and how it will evolve over time with practice. It’s quite powerful and effective. You will learn that your conversations will be about discover as opposed to about blame.   Why Goosebumps are an Important Body Signal? Goosebumps is a rush through the skin and the whole body. It lets you know that you’re in the presence of BIG TRUTH, of something of big value, and maybe a signal that you’re on to something important. If you find yourself with goosebumps, give attention to it. Notice what is happening and what your body is trying to tell you. What you give attention to, develops further. In today’s podcast episode, we explore the inner world of movement and unconscious intentions in your body. How does that show up? Explore the relationship of what is going on in your body and what is going on in your mind. Katie Hendricks talks body intelligence with us. Cutting edge information you’ll want to know more about. “The way to change your mind, is to change your body.” – Katie Hendricks What is body intelligence? Body Intelligence is opening up to this vast interspace that we have in our bodies that is just as vast as the consciousness in our minds. We now know that our consciousness doesn’t just exist in our mind. We have a gut brain as well. An intuition. We are all oriented from the outside in. We want approval from others on how we look and how we act, and how others see us. The messages that come from the outside. But we rarely pay attention to the messages we are getting from the inside. Explore your inner yes and your inner no. This comes from your body. This is your feeling flow and your intuition. The intuition comes from your body, not from your mind. If you change your posture, it has more power than a whole lot of prescription drugs. Body intelligence allows you to be more in touch with yourself. Your body intelligence thrives when you are able to give it non-judgmental attention.   What are the first steps you’re teaching people to get in touch with their body intelligence? Go ahead and notice something going on in your body right now. Then she’ll notice to how they react to that. And the key move is to bring the awareness inside our body, rather than looking at ourselves from the outside in. Look at the shape of it, its texture, its color…from the inside. Then she’ll have their hands paint or sculpt, match their inner sensation. Or she’ll have them notice their breathing. If they’re in any kind of distress it’s going to change the flow of movement and the flow of breathing. This happens in relationships when there’s conflict.   4 Fear Melters When we’re in fear: flee, freeze, flight or faint, we are not able to be present in life. We’re more reactive out of a fear state, where we consider others our enemies, including our bodies. We don’t want our body to feel out of control and embarrass us. Katie teaches us to be more in touch with ourselves to jump start our alignment so we get out of our cage.           15 Day Fat Loss Kick Start Ebook Download your FREE copy here!! In this episode, Kathlyn Hendricks talks with us about how criticism and blame get in the way of true intimacy in relationship. She offers perspective on the damaging cycle of criticism between partners. She gives us some important keys into shifting out of criticism. She also provides some valuable tips about how to create change in your relationship even if your partner is not on the same page. Katie helps us look at what is possible when you end criticism and blame in your relationship. KEY POINTS TO CONSIDER: Blame and criticism are the number one relationship killers, as they are the reason why most people leave their close relationships. Criticism creates a sense of shrinking away and distancing response in the person being criticized. Criticism erodes at the positive bond and connection in relationship. Criticism almost always comes from a fearful place: the experience of “I am scared of something, and I look over and I think it is you that is making me scared.” Criticism creates a fear and adrenal cycle that keeps partner’s hooked in a negative loop and prevent them from creating intimacy. The only thing to do with criticism is to stop it, by making a commitment to end criticism and blame. It is important to see criticism as a defensive move and look at the underlying experience. By committing to stop criticism and blame, partner’s make room for genuine appreciation, support, and giving and receiving quality attention. In each moment, we have a choice in relationship, to either expand in learning and authenticity or close up in protection. We can’t do both. Be sure to listen to the podcast episode to hear more valuable tips, as well as how to specifically move out of a critical stance.  MENTIONED: Conscious Loving Ever After: How to Create Thriving Relationships at Midlife and Beyond, by Gay & Kathlyn Hendricks (book) Conscious Loving: The Journey to Co-Commitment, by Gay & Kathlyn Hendricks (book) Conscious Loving 5 video series, by Gay & Kathlyn Hendricks (videos on website) Foundation For Conscious Living (website) Hendricks (website) Hendrick’s Trainings (website) Hearts In Harmony (Facebook page) PROGRAM: HOW TO TURN CRITICISM INTO LOVING COMMUNICATION REGISTER HERE.
