John Daigle, Pat Daugherty, Denny Carter and Matt Stroup preview 10 games from Sunday's NFL slate, including the Chiefs and Bills on Sunday Night Football on NBC, and big opportunities for rookie QBs Trey Lance and Justin Fields. Below is the full breakdown of our episode: (2:12) Packers @ Bengals(11:26) Jets @ Falcons(17:31) Dolphins @ Bucs(24:10) Saints @ WFT(30:43) Broncos @ Steelers(35:11) Patriots @ Texans(40:18) Bears @ Raiders(47:15) 49ers @ Cardinals(56:36) Bills @ Chiefs(1:03:25) Colts @ Ravens
John Daigle, Pat Daugherty, Denny Carter and Matt Stroup break down 10 games from the Week 4 slate, including a potential Cardinals-Rams shootout, the outlook for Saquon Barkley and Alvin Kamara, and Tom Brady's return to New England. Below is the full game-by-game agenda for the episode:(2:06) — Panthers @ Cowboys — Carolina's D vs. Dak Prescott and the Cowboys(10:12) — WFT @ Falcons — Will Kyle Pitts and Calvin Ridley finally break out?(17:49) — Titans @ Jets — Revenge game for Corey Davis?(23:13) — Giants @ Saints — RB1 weeks for Saquon and Kamara?(30:10) — Texans @ Bills — Do things get better for Stefon Diggs?(36:30) — Cardinals @ Rams — Worrying about Robert Woods(45:16) — Ravens @ Broncos — Melvin Gordon vs. Javonte Williams(51:10) — Packers @ Steelers — Any hope for a big Chase Claypool day? (56:03) — Bucs @ Patriots — Expectations for Bucs WRs in Brady's NE return (1:04:23) — Raiders @ Chargers — Is Mike Williams, WR1, here to stay?
Denny Carter and Kyle Dvorchak join Matt Stroup for a breakdown of our most watchable teams of 2021, with Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce and the Chiefs as the no-doubt first choice, followed by Josh Allen and the Bills and Dak Prescott and the Cowboys in the top three. Is this the year that CeeDee Lamb surpasses Amari Cooper as the top option in the Cowboys passing game? Plus, we consider whether Lamar Jackson and the Ravens can get back to their dominant 2019 form, how high the ceiling is for Matthew Stafford in L.A., and our expectations for a Titans attack that has Julio Jones, Derrick Henry and A.J. Brown, but notably lost OC Arthur Smith.
John Daigle, Pat Daugherty and Denny Carter join Matt Stroup to look at some of the outliers in our individual rankings, including why Pat is slightly lower on Matt Ryan than most — and what it could mean for Ryan's fantasy outlook in 2021. Plus, the huge chasm in Daigle and Denny's rankings of Trey Lance, and some drastically different opinions on Chase Claypool coming off his 11-touchdown rookie campaign. We also look at some positive reports on the fast-rising Cam Akers, and injury news we potentially shouldn't ignore when it comes to Amari Cooper and Calvin Ridley.
Pat Daugherty and Denny Carter join Matt Stroup to take a look at the landscape of NFL coaches — and what it means for fantasy football — ranking the best and the worst the league has to offer. We consider whether Sean Payton can salvage a season where there are already questions about Jameis Winston's connection with Michael Thomas, why Sean McVay is ranked ahead of Kyle Shanahan, and whether we can trust Kliff Kingsbury to get the most out of Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins in 2021. Also: a look at some of Urban Meyer's strange decisions, and why Travis Etienne is still an intriguing name heading into summer fantasy drafts. Read Pat Daugherty's NFL Coach Rankings for 2021: https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/edge/article/goal-line-stand/nfls-best-coaches-2021
Pat Daugherty, John Daigle, Denny Carter and Matt Stroup highlight eight players we are targeting right now in every fantasy draft. We look at how the landscape has improved for Clyde Edwards-Helaire after a disappointing rookie season, why Michael Thomas should return to form after a disaster of a 2019 campaign, and whether Courtland Sutton can overcome abysmal QB play as he comes back from injury. Plus, DJ Moore is flashing star potential, Amari Cooper could finally have a ceiling season, and Kyle Pitts is set up for success in a post- (we think) Julio Jones Atlanta — but is his ADP already too high?
Patrick Daugherty, Denny Carter and John Daigle dive into the “running back dead zone,” Rounds 3-6 where you have to make big decisions on uncertain backfields. The guys debate 10 different running back situations, including J.K. Dobbins, Miles Sanders and Josh Jacobs. They also examine possible Julio Jones trade scenarios, and corner Denny on whether he is planning to abandon Wii Golf in favor of a new game.
After reacting to the latest news from the Lions backfield surrounding Jamaal Williams and D'Andre Swift, John Daigle, Pat Daugherty, Denny Carter and Matt Stroup look at 10 players/coaches/GMs who are under varying degrees of pressure in 2021. We look at Jalen Hurts and a less-than-ideal setup with new head coach Nick Sirianni in Philadelphia, Matt Ryan facing the possibility of playing without Julio Jones, whether Carson Wentz and Sam Darnold have real shots for success with new teams coming off a brutal 2020 season, and why the signs are ominous for Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers heading into 2021.
With the official release of the NFL schedule on Wednesday evening, John Daigle, Pat Daugherty, Denny Carter and Matt Stroup go game-by-game with a way-too-early look at what to expect from Week 1 of the 2021 season. Ranking each game 1-16, we hit many of the high points, including Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs with a point to prove against the Browns, and Dak Prescott in a tough opener against Tom Brady and the Bucs. We also dive into the uglier spots on the Week 1 slate, with Giants-Broncos and Jaguars-Texans among them. Also on this episode: massive question marks at quarterback when the Saints and Packers face off (Aaron Rodgers or Jordan Love? Jameis Winston or Taysom Hill?), and a potentially brutal Raiders team gets a scary Week 1 draw in John Harbaugh, Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.
Patrick Daugherty, Denny Carter and John Daigle discuss the biggest rookie rankings questions of the post-draft landscape. Who is the No. 2 receiver behind Ja'Marr Chase? Who is the best Day 2 prospect? Is there a quarterback we like beyond the first-round five? Do we ignore Kadarius Toney's real life draft position? And much, much more.
John Daigle, Pat Daugherty and Denny Carter join Matt Stroup to highlight the biggest fantasy losers coming out of the 2021 NFL Draft. We look at the new reality for James Robinson after Urban Meyer invested a first-round pick on Travis Etienne, how Miami's new weapons (in particular Jaylen Waddle) impact DeVante Parker, and what the arrival of Mac Jones means for Cam Newton in New England. Also on this episode: Javonte Williams puts a dent in Melvin Gordon's fantasy appeal, Trey Sermon's arrival in San Francisco further crowds an absurdly deep 49ers backfield, and Ja'Marr Chase in Cincy means bad news for Tee Higgins – but exactly how bad is it?
Patrick Daugherty, Denny Carter and John Daigle roll through the 10 biggest winners of the draft, including Mike Davis, Myles Gaskin, Joe Burrow and Sam Darnold. They also examine the Dolphins’ new-look passing attack while debating the proper ADP for Najee Harris.
Patrick Daugherty and Denny Carter preview this week's draft with Sharp Football Analysis' Rich Hribar. Reebs talks his favorite running back and non-Lawrence quarterback, while the gang debates Kyle Pitts' fantasy future. They also explore the possibility the Falcons trade Julio Jones, and close out the show with some receiver talk.
With less than one week to go until the 2021 NFL Draft, Pat Daugherty, John Daigle and Denny Carter join Matt Stroup to break out the Good Football Show lie detector on some of the most prominent rumors circulating. We consider whether the 49ers and Mac Jones is an elaborate smokescreen — and if so, who is the smokescreen for? Plus, will the Bengals prioritize protecting Joe Burrow over adding Ja'Marr Chase, will the Panthers target a quarterback even after trading for Sam Darnold, and will the Falcons swing for the fences with Kyle Pitts, or draft Matt Ryan’s successor in Justin Fields? We hit all of these rumors and much more, plus the demise of the European Super League and what it means for Pat's FIFA habit.
Patrick Daugherty and Denny Carter evaluate pass-catching running backs from a zero-RB perspective. They also take a look at the latest news, including the 49ers' persistent Mac Jones rumors, the Steelers' plans at running back, and Julian Edelman's retirement.
Two weeks ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft, Pat Daugherty, John Daigle and Denny Carter join Matt Stroup to look at some of the players we are targeting (or plan to target) in every fantasy draft. We debate the upside of both star wide receivers in Atlanta (Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley), discuss why the ceiling is absurdly high for A.J. Brown, and break down our expectations for Cam Akers, J.K. Dobbins and Ezekiel Elliott coming off his maddening 2020 campaign.
Patrick Daugherty and Denny Carter take a look at 2021 running back sleepers through the "zero RB" prism. They debate the mid-round merits of backs like Damien Harris, Tony Pollard and Gus Edwards. They also examine later-round options, including Zack Moss and Darrynton Evans.
Patrick Daugherty, Denny Carter and Hayden Winks discuss 2020’s “prayer yards” all stars, wide receivers who failed to convert bountiful air yards opportunities into, you know, actual yards. The players debated include D.J. Chark, Marquise Brown and Darnell Mooney. The gang also talks about their post-COVID excitement, while Hayden makes an announcement at the end of the show.
John Daigle, Pat Daugherty and Denny Carter join Matt Stroup to break down 10 big surprises from NFL free agency. We discuss Aaron Jones returning to Green Bay (and what that means for Jones and AJ Dillon), the massive target share that looms for A.J. Brown in Tennessee after the team didn't add a big-name wide receiver, and how the Panthers' plans at QB leave a huge opportunity for a yet-to-be-determined passer. Plus, the Ravens, Chiefs and Saints all have at least one question mark at wide receiver, so we examine what that means for Marquise Brown, Mecole Hardman and Tre'Quan Smith. Also on this episode: Denny brings us the Andy Dalton hype that we didn't realize we needed.
Patrick Daugherty and Denny Carter analyze teams and players bound for positive touchdown regression in 2021. They debate Jerry Jeudy's breakout odds, Cooper Kupp's bounce-back potential, and Justin Herbert's sophomore outlook, amongst many other topics. They also begin the show with an early look at how the 17-game season might affect fantasy campaigns.
Patrick Daugherty, John Daigle and Denny Carter join Matt Stroup to break down some of the recent free agent moves from the latest wave of transactions. We discuss new homes for Will Fuller, Kenny Golladay, Mike Davis, Tevin Coleman, Phillip Lindsay and Mark Ingram, and old homes for Juju Smith-Schuster, T.Y. Hilton and Chris Carson. We break down the fantasy impact of each free agent decision, and how drastically it changes the outlook/ADP for the players and their old/new teammates, including Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool. Also on this episode: Denny makes the stunning admission that PPR is a scam.
Patrick Daugherty and Denny Carter talk the "left behind" winners of free agency, players who could see a boost in fantasy value after their former teammates left for new franchises. Chase Edmonds and Tyler Higbee lead the pack, while Pat and Denny also debate Anthony "Firk Daddy" Firkser and Bryan Edwards, amongst others. Finally, a challenge is issued at the end of the pod following a shocking Denny tweet.
John Daigle, Pat Daugherty and Denny Carter join Matt Stroup to discuss a number of recent free agency developments, including some potential backfield chaos in Detroit and Las Vegas, with the Lions and Raiders adding Jamaal Williams and Kenyan Drake, respectively. We also look at what should be a suddenly exciting offense for the Washington Football Team, which has added Ryan Fitzpatrick and Curtis Samuel. Plus, the Bears add Andy Dalton, the Patriots add Hunter Henry, and the new/old reality for a number of veteran receivers changing cities, including John Brown, Marvin Jones and A.J. Green.
Andy Behrens and Denny Carter from NBC Sports EDGE are here to break down the latest news on the episode Yahoo Fantasy Football Forecast!Even after an avalanche of free-agency moves, we here on the Yahoo Fantasy Forecast have plenty of questions we're still trying to figure out. First-ballot Hall of Famer Drew Brees announced his retirement from football, but after Jameis Winston was reported to re-sign with the New Orleans Saints, how do we feel about Taysom Hill in 2021 fantasy drafts? Bill Belicheck decided to spend big on Hunter Henry, Jonnu Smith and ... Nelson Agholor? Aaron Jones has re-signed with the Green Bay Packers, but will Green Bay ever get Aaron Rodgers another receiver? It's all that and more on this episode of the Yahoo Fantasy Football Forecast!Follow Andy: @andybehrensFollow Denny: @CDCarter13Check out the rest of the Yahoo Sports Podcast family at https://apple.co/2Abi8jk or at yahoosports.com/podcasts See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Patrick Daugherty, John Daigle and Denny Carter discuss the initial hours of free agency, including Cam Newton's return to New England and Jonnu Smith's addition. They break down Aaron Jones' surprise new deal with the Packers and debate how Taysom Hill and Jameis Winston's quarterback competition might play out.
John Daigle, Denny Carter and Pat Daugherty join Matt Stroup to react to some of the big NFL free agency news this week, and the fantasy fallout of all the decisions. We discuss Dak Prescott returning to the Cowboys on a massive four-year, $160 million deal, plus the latest on Kenny Golladay, Chris Carson, Hunter Henry and Aaron Jones all likely looking for new teams, while Allen Robinson appears to be headed for another year in Chicago — with a huge question mark at quarterback for the Bears.

Patrick Daugherty and Denny Carter use 2020 "touchdowns over expectations" to evaluate offenses that might regress in 2021. Will Aaron Rodgers be an early-round QB trap? Are Tom Brady's Bucs regression proof? Pat and Denny also speculate on what their roles would be in the House of Windsor.
Pat Daugherty, John Daigle and Denny Carter join Matt Stroup to discuss the news that Ben Roethlisberger is back for one more run in Pittsburgh at age 39. Plus, with NFL roster cuts already happening, and many more on the way, we look at the potential fallout from the release of Golden Tate, Jared Cook and Kyle Rudolph, as well as the potential impending release of pass catchers in Chicago and Philadelphia — and what the latter could mean for the dynamic Jalen Reagor.
Patrick Daugherty and Denny Carter discuss their dream destinations for fantasy-relevant free agents, including Will Fuller and Jonnu Smith. They also debate if Jameis Winston should re-sign with the Saints, and speculate about the NFL’s Top Shot future. Finally, they recap Denny’s summiting of “Meat Mountain,” making him one through the ages with Tenzing Norgay and Alex Honnold.
John Daigle, Denny Carter and Pat Daugherty (back from his epic move) join Matt Stroup to discuss the latest in the Russell Wilson/Seahawks saga, with Russ reportedly not demanding a trade, but telling the Seahawks which teams he would demand a trade to if he did. Plus, this season's edition of "Give Me A Break": the things we need a break from after a long football season, with NBA Top Shot and NFL coaching nepotism at the center of the conversation.
John Daigle and Denny Carter join Matt Stroup to react to the news of Carson Wentz being traded to the Colts, what it means for Indy's skill players (including Michael Pittman Jr.), and the opportunity that's now ahead for Jalen Hurts in Philadelphia. We also consider the potential landing spots for the remaining free agent and trade candidate quarterbacks, drafting new/old teams (snake draft style) for Deshaun Watson, Dak Prescott, Cam Newton, Jameis Winston, Jimmy Garoppolo, Aaron Rodgers, Ryan Fitzpatrick and more.
John Daigle and Denny Carter join Matt Stroup to break down the latest news on Russell Wilson and Carson Wentz, as frustration mounts in Seattle and the Wentz rumors continue to swirl. We also look back at some of the biggest surprises of the 2020 season, and what we can learn from them moving forward, including massive performances from James Robinson, Stefon Diggs, Ronald Jones, Nelson Agholor, Brandon Aiyuk and Logan Thomas.
Pat Daugherty and Denny Carter first join Matt Stroup to react to a stunning turn of events in Super Bowl LV, breaking down everything that went wrong for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, plus everything that went right for Tom Brady and the Buccaneers — and what's ahead next season for both teams. Then, Thor Nystrom joins the show to preview our coverage of the 2021 NFL Draft, and look at some key storylines, including the current outlook for prospects ranging from Justin Fields to Zach Wilson to Trey Lance and DeVonta Smith.
After the very large trade news that Matthew Stafford is headed to the Rams (and Jared Goff is headed to Detroit), Pat Daugherty and Denny Carter join Matt Stroup to discuss what the deal means for both teams, with some potentially exciting developments for Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp. We also analyze the most intriguing trade destinations for Deshaun Watson, including the tantalizing possibility of the 49ers, where Watson would be coached by Kyle Shanahan and throwing to Deebo Samuel, George Kittle and Brandon Aiyuk.
John Daigle, Pat Daugherty and Denny Carter join Matt Stroup to break down the NFC and AFC title games, including Matt LaFleur's head-scratching decision to kick a late field goal, and what's next for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers after the devastating loss. We also take an early look at what to expect from a Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady Super Bowl matchup, react to the Lions' hiring of Dan Campbell, and look at the mess that's unfolding in Houston with franchise QB Deshaun Watson potentially on his way to the Jets.
Pat Daugherty and Denny Carter join Matt Stroup to recap all the games from the NFL Divisional Round over the weekend, with uncertainty around Jared Goff's future with the Rams, and the Saints likely beginning the post-Drew Brees era (and potentially the start full-time of the Taysom Hill experience). We also discuss what to expect from Josh Allen and the Bills after a relatively quiet weekend, the lingering injury concern for Patrick Mahomes and where Lamar Jackson and the Ravens go from here.
John Daigle, Pat Daugherty and Denny Carter join Matt Stroup to review all six games from NFL Wild Card Weekend, including Josh Allen's Bills narrowly getting past the Colts and Philip Rivers, who may or may not have played his last game. Plus, how the Ravens shut down Derrick Henry, and some highly questionable decisions by Mike Vrabel and Mike Tomlin — whose Steelers were stunned by Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb and the Browns on Sunday night. We break down some of the key moments from all six games, and what's next for the eliminated teams.
Matt Stroup is joined by John Daigle, Pat Daugherty and Denny Carter to discuss some key fantasy lessons we learned amid the chaos of the 2020 season. We discuss the death of the late-round QB as a viable fantasy strategy, and why quarterbacks who score points with their legs (Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, Josh Allen and others) have become so crucial to fantasy success at the position. Plus, the factors that make Travis Kelce such an absurd outlier, what we missed in our evaluation of star rookies Justin Herbert and Justin Jefferson, and what we can learn from the absurd late-season production of David Montgomery.
Denny Carter and RotoPat join Josh for the three Impact Blurbs ahead of Week 2. Denny reveals two pass catchers worth targeting despite their lackluster opening week, Josh share his biggest bust ahead of this weekend's slate and the group closes with a Bengals/Browns Preview.

Andy Behrens is joined by fantasy analyst Denny Carter of Rotoworld to talk running backs and much more on the latest episode of the Fantasy Football Forecast! Here’s the plan for this week: Every day, we’re dedicating an episode on draft strategy for the big four positions in fantasy football: Quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, and tight ends. We already KOed the QBs, now Andy and Denny tackle the most important position, the running backs! For most people, taking a running back with your first-round pick is a no-brainer. Seven-plus players in most analysts’ first-round rankings are usually running backs. That said, the Zero RB strategy has gained momentum in recent seasons. Andy and Denny kick off the podcast discussing how to execute a proper Zero RB draft along with its pros and cons. (1:50)Diving into the different tiers of RBs, Andy & Denny discuss who they consider the top backs behind Christian McCaffrey, the pitfalls of drafting Derrick Henry and at which point in the first round should you start considering a wide receiver like Michael Thomas instead. (11:00)Overall, there are around 14 running backs being drafted in the top 25 picks of Yahoo drafts, among those names like Miles Sanders and Austin Ekeler. Who among that tier should you absolutely reach for or definitely avoid? (16:00)Moving onto rounds three through six, there are a minefield of backs like Mark Ingram and James Conner, which names in this class are worth spending that draft capital on? (25:50)Lastly, the guys close out the show discussing some very late round options for those Zero RB vultures out there (33:05) and throw some cold water on the very unproven Antonio Gibson in Washington. A fantasy football talk at its finest. -PyromaniacMo sits down with Denny Carter, co-host of :Living the stream” Podcast. The discussion pertains to the fantasy football philosophy behind streaming QBs, TEs, and Defenses. This is a great fantasy football talk for those looking to draft a late round QB and stream certain positions so they can spend the first major picks of the draft nabbing RBs and WRs. Denny provides some great statistical categories to use when looking over the waiver wire and deciding which players to plug in for the week. Of course, the goal is not to stream every week, but to land a big fish. With the knowledge dropped on this fantasy football podcast, you should be able to grab a big guy off the waivers. We will arm you with the knowledge you need to play the streaming game. This can give you a huge advantage over your competition and help you win your fantasy football league. --> click here to subscribe to us on iTunes: apple.co/1DtoGV4 ---> listen to the podcast on our site here: http://www.pyromaniac.com/podcast - or click here to get an RSS of podcast: http://pyromaniac.buzzsprout.com
