Did it ever occur to you that the Ten Commandments are not a rule book.  They're a love letter, a love letter almost tragic in how little it requests: just, “Be faithful; don't be careless with my name; spend time with me; be kind to my children.”  They're a love letter sent to preserve a cherished relationship.  It's a letter begging for a response, and we don't even open the envelope, not even interested in the contents.   How many of the ten can you name?  If you're tired of thinking of the Ten Commandments as rules and ready to embrace them as all about relationship, then join Eleanor, Brenda, and Randy as they pursue the God who longs to be loved in the way only you can love Him.

So, what is the point of Lent and Easter?  Why did Jesus appear to us, walk among us, die on the cross, resurrect, ascend, and cover you in the Holy Spirit?  Did God really do all that just because He loves you?  Could God have done all that because He wants to immerse Himself in you and He wants you to want to immerse yourself in Him?  If you're ready for Lent to be more than giving up coffee or donuts and life to be more than a series of empty distractions, come kick off this year's Lenten Season with Eleanor, Brenda, and Randy, and set your sights on seven weeks designed for your soul to come fully to appreciate its worth.

Are you embracing life or waiting for death; communicating or heaping up words, immersed in abundant love or traveling empty, lying in darkness or seeking a protective light?  Maybe, it's time all of that changed.  If you're feeling ready to define your life by a love that will never leave you, then cast off with Eleanor, Brenda, and Randy and set sail into the arms of the one who will forever insist you're to die for.

Do you ever feel lost?  Do you ever feel in the shadows?  Do you ever feel as though there has to be a target out there, but you don't know where it is?  Do you ever feel as though it's time you embraced the fire that will make you the light of the world?  If you're tired of choosing to be left with the lesser part, then choose today to step out with Eleanor, Brenda, and Randy, and trade in the lies you've grown tired of for a life that will make you shine. 

God doesn't mandate weekly confession.  He doesn't mandate weekly fasting or weekly adoration, but He does insist every week you are to be immersed in His blood, dissolved into Him as He is consumed by you.  Would you call that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?  If you're hungering to depart from the Christmas holidays feeling loved, if it's time you left mass feeling loved, then it's time you joined Eleanor, Brenda, and Randy to reflect on what it means to be the passion of the Creator of all things and the soul that magnifies the smile of God for the world.

Out on the sea at night.  Huge storm blows in.  Waves are crashing over you.  Your boat is sinking, God's asleep, and neither the roar of the waves nor the splash of the sea can wake Him.  But what are you afraid of?  Even if the waves and the water won't wake Him, the sound of your voice does, and He can still the storm.  If you're ready to be convinced that the best Christmas stories are more than a little scary but never waver from a trust in the God who saves, then cast off with Eleanor, Brenda, and Randy, and set sail for a joy that is closer than you think.

Can this really be the path toward Christmas: so many hungry people and so many empty mangers?  Are nights in Advent supposed to be this dark?  Are nights in Advent supposed to be this cold?  If this is Advent, shouldn't there be a wreath?  Shouldn't there be candles?  Then again, maybe, there are.  Maybe, in God's plan this Advent, the Advent wreath is you.  If you're feeling ready to accept this season as the season for you to be God's love letter to the world, then awake, arise, and check in with Eleanor, Brenda, and Randy as they encourage you to embrace your call to illuminate the world with flames of faith, hope, love, joy, and peace.

Did you ever think Christianity is not a theology, a morality, a worldview, a set of laws, rules, or proscriptions, a religion, a way of worship, an avenue for service, a church, a structure, a hierarchy, a vocation, an organization, a school, or a tradition?  Did you ever think your faith could be a walk with a friend, a father, a shepherd, and a savior?  On your walk together, you pour out your heart, and the pieces all come together?  As you walk, He speaks to you, and you feel your heart burning?  And you never want that walk to end?  If you're ready to use this Advent to kindle an eternal fire in your heart, get on board with Eleanor, Brenda, and Randy, and step into a love that's designed to meet your strides forever.

Do you think God is happy?  Do you think God smiles?  Do you think God delights in you?  Do you think God guides your steps because He wants to make you good, or because He wants to see you smile?  Do you think God longs to sing for you in paradise, “It's you and me forever”?  If you've done your time in the desert and you're tired of feeling cold and all alone, take a moment with Eleanor, Brenda, and Randy, and let God hold you and warm you as you wait with Him for the sunlight.

Children need hugs from their parents.  Why would God create children to need hugs from their parents if God didn't plan to hug His children.  Could prayer be the means by which we hug God?  If you're ready to move beyond prayer as merely words that dissipate and embrace prayer as our means to rest in God's arms, then press on with Eleanor, Brenda, and Randy, and encounter the God who will not rest until He's in a relationship with you that's designed to blow your socks off.

Did you ever wonder, when Adam and Eve left Eden, where God went?  Did it ever occur to you that God went with them?  Did you ever imagine that the last words God spoke to Adam and Eve in Paradise were, “I'm coming with you.  I could never leave you alone.”  If you're ready to embrace a hope that's not a noun or a verb, but, instead, is a person, a person who wants to be the lifeguard of your life, then dive in with Eleanor, Brenda, and Randy, and immerse yourself in the reality that in the eyes of God, you elevate all creation because God is so in love with you.

What kind of soil are you?  How many kinds of soil are you?  What kind of soil will you ultimately embrace being?  What if one morning you got up and realized that you had achieved everything and had nothing?  If you're tired of being afraid of what God might take if you actually let Him in, if you're tired of having a relationship with God that just feels too complicated, then sit down and simplify things with Eleanor, Brenda, and Randy, and let the God who created you a seed of great potential bring you into a harvest of unimaginable bounty.
