Come and listen while Host Joyce Benning interviews extraordinary people on her Robust Lifestyles Podcasts only on the Divas That Care Network. #DivasThatCare I was born horse-crazy in a big city without a connection to horses. Taking advantage of every opportunity that came my way to interact with horses whetted my appetite for more experiences. I got my first horse after college graduation then sold him to go the grad school. Afterward, it took me until my late 40's, in the process of giving up my dream, to restablish a relationship with another horse. It was a miracle and horses have been in my life ever since. (I have never owned a horse trailer or property in the country. Rather than compete, I enjoy the relationship I have with my horse. I board near a state forest where I have ridden the same trails, most “alone,” for over 21 years.) https://swishtails.com/

It took OB sometime to find something Ed wanted to talk about. He tried Sex Education and then laundry. Fianlly we got to the subject every one is talking about. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, here what these two grumpy old men have to say on the most important topic in the world today
Saturday in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim we go "On The Mound" and hear from former Phillies Pitcher Tommy Greene brought to you by the John R. Elliott Hero Campaign for designated drivers. Tommy Talks Phillies baseball. Hour II we talk with the Sports Book Consigliere Dave Sharapan Live from Las Vegas. The Book looks at the betting trends for the weekend. Well, well, well...It seems Mark and jason have been working hard and the show is showing the fruits of it's labor. People in other places wanna hear the show on their networks and we are happy to oblige. Jason Kull and Mark Bland start off discussing about Covid and how people are worried about new lockdowns that just not coming. A Maryland school had a small outbreak of third graders and as usual the idiots took to social media to turn it into the next OUTBREAK scenario and it never comes to fruition. This is all after the men announce they are now SYNDICATED for the second time in history on multiple stations. Sure it's not national synidcation, but the show is moving in the right direction adding 102.5 WIBH to their already powerful 1280/105.3 KYRO! Next up the gents discuss the Gerogia Election Fraud Case. The first set of hearings has already begun and it seems the republicans are trying to get out in front of what they are denying is a conspiracy. There is only one problem Mark noticed...they referenced the "conspiracy" underoath in the first discussion, so it was actually a conspiracy. Trump has argued for years that it was never some conspiracy and everyone just over reacted and was lying and/or LIBERAL. Weird stance to take. This also comes with some idiocy from the lawyers of Sidney Powell and Mr. Chesebro. Fianlly it's time for another tournament of pop culture so people can get a taste at the new station of the types of fun we bring to the table. This tournament focuses on the upcoming halloween and fall season as we break down the best Horror Movie Sequels Battle Royale. This is not a list we created, but one that we are breaking down and discussing. Which horror movie franchise made the best sequel to date? Was it Halloween and Michael? How bout Freddy and Nightmare on Elm Street. Well join us and help us break these movies down and figure out who the big winner is!

After taking a brief break to settle in to my new schedule, I'm back with a loaded baked potato of an episode this week! Podnotes to follow along with this episode at your leisure: http://sensationalshegeek.weebly.com/full-archive/ep82-rings-of-power-finale-mephisto-rumors-superman-red-hulk-quantumania-majorskendrick-appreciation-she-hulk-finale The News begins (0:06:05) with some recent "IRL" tidbits, before getting into the juicy rumors, aka Sacha Baron Cohen 13:05 possibly playing Mephisto in Iron Heart! Plus some good Blade Director rumors, too! If you haven't heard it yet, Henry Cavill IS back in Black Adam (0:19:13), Harrison Ford IS the new Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross (0:21:50), and Barbarella (0:29:01) has been cast as Sidney Sweeney! Unfortunately, the live-action Zatanna (0:31:15) project was pushed off of HBO, but I feel like it's a good thing Marvel has a movie slow-down (34:39), pushing back a number of MCU films. Then there's Matt Reeves Batman (0:38:30) villains plans! Fianlly, my thoughts on the (FINALLY) Quantumania Trailer (0:40:56), and brief note of the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (0:48:09), coming November 15th. This week's spotlight manga is none other than Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid (49:48), by Coolkyousinnjya, creator of I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying and Komori-san Can't Decline. This one is a manga AND anime, is full of girl love, and I can't recommend it enough! A handful of comics Picks (0:57:21) from the past few weeks prelude this week's comic Pulls (1:00:14), which includes an impressive amount of indie kick-offs! It's a great time to get into indie comics, for real. I admit I have a less-than-pleased She-Hulk Finale review (1:04:44), but almost definitely for reasons you won't expect. If we get a season two, I hope the (new?) showrunners allow SOMETHING of the comics to have an influence on the plot or characters. Something. Anything. But in greater news, the Rings of Power Finale 1:12:20 was even better than I was hoping! The Harfoots! Halbrand! The Stranger! The Witches? Galadriel! Celebrimbor! SAURON! This was such a satisfyingly watch, changes be-damned. I loved this, and I'm super excited for the next four seasons! The Halloween Yancy Street Special should be out within the week, on Satana, otherwise keep an eye out for episode 83, coming at the turn of the month! So Much More: Creating Space for God (Lectio Divina and Scripture Meditation)
Dr. Joye Baker has taught and discipled women in the church for more than thirty years. Her heart's passion is to encourage women in their walk with the Lord and share the love and hope that God alone can give. Dr. Baker currently serves as an adjunct professor at DTS training and equipping women for ministry. Take a few minutes to meditate on Exodus 4:10-17 and then listen in to hear where God led Joye. Some highlights from our conversation: How the Lord reminded Joye that when he calls, he will equip. We talk about the promise Jesus makes to the disciples in Mark 13:11 that says, “do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.” This was the verse I couldn't remember. We talk about why being surrendered to God's will is essential to a vibrant walk with the Lord. Fianlly, Joye gives sage advice on how to handle transitions and disruptions in life. You can find our more about Dr. Joye Baker here And you can listen to her message on surrender here The exact verses read in this podcast are Exodus 4:10-17 10 Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.” 11 The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” 13 But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.” 14 Then the Lord's anger burned against Moses and he said, “What about your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he can speak well. He is already on his way to meet you, and he will be glad to see you. 15 You shall speak to him and put words in his mouth; I will help both of you speak and will teach you what to do. 16 He will speak to the people for you, and it will be as if he were your mouth and as if you were God to him. 17 But take this staff in your hand so you can perform the signs with it.

The release of the 4K, Ultra HD version of Star Trek The Motion Picture, The Director's Edition, is big news. Fianlly fans can see the film the way director Robert Wise intended. Star Trek The Motion Picture was originally released in theaters in 1979. It culminated ten years of hard work, false starts and frustrations. The movie ran 132 minutes and it brought live action Star Trek back. But because of problems during production, the film was little more that a rough-cut. The version we saw in theaters was never intended to be the final edit. But because of marketing commitments, director Robert Wise ran out of time. Flash forward to 2001. Paramount agreed to let Wise and his team re-edit the folm so it would be closer to his original vision. The result was Star Trek The Motion Picture, The Director's Edition. The team tightened the editing and inserted new, updated CGI special effects. However, this version of the film was only released in standard definition on DVD. Blu Ray had not yet been invented. So fans never got to see this verison of the film in high definition. Until now. Members of Wise's 2001 team have gotten access to the Paramount vaults and have gone back to the orignal camera negatives to restore The Director's Edition in 4K Ultra HD. Theyhave also updated the special effects, bringing them up to 4K, as well. The result is a stunning film with more color, detail and dynamic sound. *** In The Unofficial Trek Podcast, hosts Bob Turner and Kelly Casto give their "Unofficial" take on the Star Trek universe. From 2019 through 2019, Bob and Kelly hosted the show 70s Trek. It was a look at the events that brought a cancelled, 1960s TV show back from the dead to become a blockbuster movie in 1979. It was a decade that created a multi-million dollar franchise. Now Bob and Kelly will look at the minutia, the concepts, the people and the news pertaining to the Star Trek Universe. It's a fascinating time for Star Trek, with a flood of content about it on the internet. Bob and Kelly will give their "Unofficial" take. Why unofficial? Because their views are just that, they are theirs and are, therefore, "unofficial." It's a fresh look at Star Trek from two lifelong fans who have been talking Trek for over 35 years! We hope you'll join Bob and Kelly for their next venture, The Unofficial Trek Podcast. Brian Flores exceeded expectations as the Dolphins hed coach in year one and had back to back winning seasons. The Dolphins should have fired their general manager instead of Brian Flores. Second, we talk about the Steelers making the playoffs and wether or not they have a chance at beating the Chiefs. The Steelers have been extremely underwhelming all year long and really should not be a playoff team. 09.19.08 Pitfalls of CompilationsLike every able minded wit in this new century's culture wars, I have a podcast. In all humility it is a simple affair, intended to be bi-weekly, it now struggles along at almost a monthly pace. The original intent, beyond the glorious wealth and epic fame of being a podcaster, was to create a feedback loop of finding new music, making it available as a piece, and then, of course, finding more. Little did know the amount of time needed to put together one hour of music. I bete musicians feel the same, only more so.. .Part of the issue is time spent listening to music. I had seriously underestimated the amount of time and attention that this requires. The basic necessity, to listen intently to a song, compounded by the ridiculous wealth in good music that our age best exemplifies, is basically absurd. Thanks to the internet, WFMU's Antique Phonograph show is as easily available as that Moxie Fruvous bootleg I got kicking around somewhere. By which I mean; the obscure areifacts are everywhere it just listening. And once you start you realize how endless it all is.I spend more time now "culling the herd" than finding the selections. My average show starts at around three hours long - then I spend a few days listening and removing and adding on, until I've gotten to that CD-R sweet spot of 80 min. Usually another couple of days are spent juggling the order of tracks until their sequence is coherent. Another dat tweaking levels and getting the fades right, and often a last minute substitution or two. Fianlly the set list is compiled, and depending on time constraints I may link to the artists and I may write comments. In the olden days of "leisure time" I'd even record spoken bits to intro and seqway songs and sections. this is unlikely to happen now.In the interests of saying something, here are the rationalizations for track inclusion and highlights for the mix I have here:01 - Amon Tobin - Get Your Snack OnThe heavy textures and repititive moments of this are given a lighter and jazzier feel by the diverse organic sounding palatte of samples.02 - Matmos - Zealous Order of Candied KnightsFollowing on from that orgainc sound is Matmos who has made some of the most insightfult inroads of producing along thematic lines. This is from their Civil War album. 03 - People Like Us - My Son Jim (excerpt)04 - Hifana - Wamono PV05 - The Books - It Never Changes to Stop06 - Kid Koala - Fender BenderProbably on of the most skilled turntabilists of this generation. This is one of the more expansive tracks from his first album - it features a large variety of well meshed vinyl.07 - Cex - OD'd on First Base08 - Dj Food & DK - Let's Play DrumsFrom thier "Now, Listen!" album this "track" is not the best - but it has a very good beat, yes?09 - Kid606 - MP3 Killed The CD StarOne of the more accessible tracks from this laptop artist, here edited to a more managable size.10 - Mum - Abakvid Tvaer Hædir,,,,sundlau11 - Dj Vadim - Dig Yourself Baby12 - Prefuse 73 & the Books - Pagina Cuatro13 - Dj Z-Trip & Dj P - Uneasy Listening Track 4Off of their freely downloadable album of the same name.14 - Amon Tobin - Foley RoomA studio heavy music concrete with a largely IDM influenced percussion the track is a step away from his earlier jazzy sound.15 - Dj Shadow - Building Steam with a Grain of Salt (excerpt)16 - Proem - Negativ - Bolt Action A17 - Proem - Negativ - Bolt Action A17 - Skalpel - Tension18 - Plastiq Phantom - Experimentation on Foreign Light19 - Negativland - What's Music (excerpt)20 - Radio Soulwax - paul simon - ladytron - (guitarsolo)21 - Volcano The Bear - Five Hundred Boy Piano (excerpt)22 - Richard Devine - block, variation23 -Kid Koala - Basin Street Blues24 - Squarepusher & MC Twin Tub - Full Rinse25 - The Art Of Noise - How To Kill26 - Man or Astroman - A Simple Text FileA wonderful printer piece, true electronicaimage from: Nietzsche Family CircusCoincidentally this is from a music diary for the Brooklyn College cc1.3 class. The mix itself was done in the vein of finding electronic music of a certain odd caliber after a discussion of the matter with the professor. For those curious, yes, college is going well, thanks for asking. I may not be making these show too often anymore but it is a nice break from the studies - and in this case fits in well besides them.
