There's work to do in 2025 to ensure that ethanol, a renewable fuel made from corn, continues to see market growth for the next four years. Ron Lamberty is Chief Marketing Officer of the American Coalition for Ethanol, working with oil companies and convenience store chains to sell higher blends of ethanol in gasoline ranging from E15 to E85. Lamberty tells the Mid-West Farm Report he wants to see the Trump administration support tax credits for car companies to manufacture flex-fuel vehicles. He also wants to see the new administration embrace higher blends of ethanol to lower prices for drivers. He also talks about cars. With Tesla's Elon Musk in President-elect Donald Trump's Cabinet, how does that change the appetite for flex-fuel vehicles? Lamberty says he's encouraged by automakers, such as GM, announcing they will offer more models with a flex-fuel option.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Cobb Tuning has just released their NexGen Flex Fuel for the 2015 - 2021 WRX, which comes after the release of their first NexGen Flex Fuel kit for the Sti. We were definitely glad to see Flex Fuel come back as a function of the Cobb Accessport, but when we saw that the new system was running through the CAN Bus on these new cars, it was clear that there was a lot more that Cobb had to rework to make Flex Fuel available again. We were able to sit down with Lance and Billy from Cobb Tuning to go over everything that was involved in getting Flex Fuel back on line, and the processes that they go through when developing a product like this. We also talk about the benefits of running E85 and Flex Fuel as well as touch on some of their future plans for this system as well. Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!
In today's episode for 31st May 2024, we tell you why flex fuel hybrid EVs (electric vehicles) seem to look like the future of India's auto industry and the roadblocks along the way.
As the United States works toward reducing emissions, the Renewable Fuels Association doesn't want biofuels to get tossed aside. Troy Bredenkamp, Senior Vice President of Government & Public Affairs, is focused on ensuring flexible fuel vehicles -- cars that can run on high blends of renewable corn ethanol -- earn the same sustainability credits as electric vehicles. Specifically, Bredenkamp is working on the Flex Fuel Fairness Act. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

There has been a lot of change going on in the aftermarket performance world in the last couple of years. And it seems like the speed of that change has been increasing pretty significantly lately. Then yesterday Cobb sent out the April edition of their Green Speed Newsletter, and it has sent some shockwaves through the tuning community. For a while now, tuners have not been able to deactivate any check-engine lights that may come up in the process of tuning a car due to any parts that are related to emissions devices that are either not functional or have been removed from a car. But as of now, access to any of those functions or toggles has now been removed altogether. And because they have been removed entirely, that has changed the function of a few other tuning options, the most notable of which is Cobb's Flex Fuel system. In short, it is not now possible to use an Access Port to tune a car for Flex Fuel. And there are a few other options that will not work as they did before. Because there has been a ton of discussion on the matter, we wanted to put together a Podcast about this as soon as possible, and get it out as soon as we could. And we were able to bring in Harvey from The Boostcreep to help talk us through the changes, and what his view of the situation was as well. If you would like to take action and use your voice to try to help support our ability to tune and modify our cars, there are two very important links that you should check out. The first is the link to support the SEMA RPM Act here: https://www.sema.org/epa-news The second is the Racing Enthusiasts and Suppliers Coalition law suit to clarify the terms of the Clean Air Act here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/protect-your-right-to-convert-cars-into-racecars Thanks very much for listening, and Stay Tuned!

Winter in Delhi is not pleasant anymore. The nip in the air brings pollutants, smoke and soot with it, turning the sky of the national capital and adjoining regions toxic grey. People curtail their outings, schools are shut and the government looks for answers every time. It not only adversely affects the health but also derails a lot of economic activities. At a time when we are seeing post-pandemic economic rebound, it is worth examining how air pollution affects Delhi's business climate. How did Udaan manage not only to sustain itself but also grow in spite of the pandemic disruption? What adjustments did it have to make? What is the B2B e-commerce retailer's next big target? Is it planning to add new segments and areas? And what about taking the model to other countries? Udaan co-founder Sujeet Kumar answers these and more questions in an exclusive interview. Shares of cement companies have delivered up to 180 per cent returns on a year-to-date basis as rising input costs forced companies to hike prices. However, recent reports suggest that cement companies, especially in the Delhi-NCR region, are refraining from further hikes, with some companies already announcing rate cuts. Will this development halt the rally in cement shares? The soaring prices of petrol and diesel are forcing countries worldwide to cut dependence on gasoline and switch to some other alternative fuel. India, which imports about 80 per cent of petrol it consumes, is also following the suit. Union minister Nitin Gadkari said earlier this month that flexible-fuel engines -- or the flex engines as they are called -- will be made mandatory in India. What exactly are flex-fuel vehicles? What other fuel do they need to run? And how feasible are they? Listen to these and more in today's Business Standard Morning Show podcast. Watch Video
Auto companies may soon be asked to manufacture passenger and commercial vehicles that run on multiple fuel configuration aimed at reducing the use of polluting fossil fuels and cutting down harmful emissions. New guidelines for use of flexible fuel vehicles (FFVs) using flex engines are expected to be issued by the third quarter of current year (FY22). But what are flexible fuel vehicles or FFVs? What is the benefit of using such vehicle? To know this and more, listen to the podcast

A few years ago many believed ethanol was the answer to our fuel questions. There was refining capacity, plenty of corn and OEM commitment with their Flex Fuel option. Fast forward to 2012 and it’s a totally different landscape. There are more and more small cars on the road being powered by 40+mpg engines. But just as important, we’re facing the effects of the worst drought in 50 years. In fact, the USDA says the corn yield may come in at 1995 levels, which is worse than predicted. On Autoline This Week John McElroy talks to an expert panel for an in-depth look at the ethanol issue and see where we go from here. Joining John are Candace Wheeler from General Motors, James Frusti of Chrysler and Professor Bruce Dale from Michigan State University.
