We're back after a brief break with a new episode Majority Rules, and there is much to discuss! What's old is new in most cases here, as diamond sports continue to struggle. Can ANYONE help this baseball team win, or is it a Kerrick Jackson problem? What is his future as the University continues to throw no money into the program? As for softball, they've reached a precipice, and are looking at the real possibility of missing the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2006. What troubles this team, and can they fix it? On to track, where Professor Klapatauskas is assigning grades for each of the Tigers' track & field sections in a frenzied outdoor season thus far. Our resident gymthusiast Karen is back with some exciting updates as the team continues to charge on. Next stop? Dallas Fort Worth for Nationals for the second time in four years! Women's Hoops has a ton of updates, most of it great, and Dylan talks about how Kellie Harper has filled out her assistant coaching pool and is starting to bring in some new additions. Everyone go check out his piece on 15 +1 targets he thinks Mizzou has a shot at-- it's good stuff. Matthew talks volleyball updates from an impressive preseason event he attended and gives his thoughts on the SEC schedule release before sharing some needed wrestling recruiting news. Finally, Rory chimes in via video with some great men's and women's golf updates -- is Mizzou a Golf School now? -- and some recent tennis news. Thanks for tuning in! In Part 2 of Season 12, Episode 7, I get the privilege of spending more time with Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and Golf Digest's Best in the State of Indiana, Jeff Smith. We also hear about his incredible day caddying for the Pro-Am sponsor at the Waste Management Open. Jeff also delivers two valuable lessons to get you out of some very tough situations: how to hit a hybrid from a downhill lie and what to do when your ball winds up behind a tree with a low-hanging limb. Don't miss this insightful and entertaining conversation. Jeff Smith is an all-timer. Thank you for tuning in to Next on the Tee!

Justin Klemballa and I sit down with 8-time Canadian long drive champion Lisa Longball. Together, we unpack the three primary mistakes stopping women from gaining more distance in their golf swing and how to fix them!   We also discuss Lisa's personal training schedule, why muscle memory is way more important than muscular strength, and the vital role of rest in achieving peak performance. We also explore the significance of tempo and having a mental routine alongside a physical one.   Lisa shares her insightful personal experiences as a world-class athlete, including her triumph of hitting the longest drive in women's golf history, and what she did to gain the highest swing speed she's ever achieved.   3 Reasons You Lack Distance in Your Swing (and What to Do Instead) (06:47) Reason 1: You're an arms lifter. Because women are naturally more flexible than men, it's easy to think you're turning when you're really just lifting your arms. Lisa recommends looking at your body in two parts: the upper body and the lower body. During the backswing, start with your lead shoulder, forcing you to turn your chest turning away from the ball. On the other hand, during the downswing, maximize the coil and torque you've built up by leading with your lower body.   (09:25) Reason 2: Your golf swing sequence is flawed or lacking. “Turn the shirt” on the backswing, freeze, then “turn the skirt” on the downswing. The best way to make this sequence second nature is by practicing dissociation drills, as well as training to move your weight to the instep of the back foot when transitioning from the backswing to the downswing.   (18:43) Reason 3: You don't finish the golf swing. Most golfers put all their focus on hitting the ball, so that once they make contact, they begin to decelerate and fail to maximize distance as a result. Your clubhead should be at its fastest not on the ball, but three feet past the ball. Always keep this in mind: Hit through the ball, not to the ball.   About the Guest: Lisa Longball is an 8-time Canadian long drive national champion and has finished as high as 2nd in the world. Tori sits down with golf instructor Milo Lines and golf buddy, Kareen Larson.  Having just experienced two days at Milo's Golf School, Tori and Kareen share their highs and lows alongside their key takeaways from the program!  Key Takeaways ●      (18:58) Milo's golf school is for anyone who wants to see lasting changes in their golf game. Over the course of two days, you will get a chance to see where and how you fail, and how to then fill those gaps. Milo wants his students to walk away “with a fairly solid roadmap of where they're trying to go and how they're trying to get there.” ●      (26:08) Milo's best lessons are half-day immersions. This time frame allows you to get the “golf school experience”. One-on-one coaching also helps you uncover your points of failure, learn why you're failing, and put a plan in place to address those challenges. ●      (30:59) Focus on getting your driving to an A+ level. “You can't play golf if you can't drive,” says Milo. “I've never met a person who is a really good driver, who is not already a single digit or better. [...] If you're long and straight, I guarantee you're a low handicapper.” ●      (39:08) Find an instructor who speaks your language. Great credentials is one thing; the ability to translate that knowledge for you as an individual is another. The best instructor for you is someone who jives with your personality and understands and appreciates your learning style. ●      (41:24) Know your goal before your first lesson. Milo's most productive lessons come when the student knows exactly what he or she wants out of their time together.  Connect with Our Guests: Milo Lines: Instagram | Milo Lines Golf School Kareen Larson: Instagram Subscribe to our FREE Female Golfer Facebook Group: First T Crew [Behind the Scenes of Women's Golf] Get in touch!
