In this episode, I had an incredible conversation with LaCresia Arnold about how she came to to adopt the important mission of empowering other women to own their journey, honor their voice and be more verbal about their lived experiences. It was beautiful to hear LaCresia share her transformational journey of learning to give to others by first giving to herself. LaCresia also dove into: How she went from peacekeeper to peacemaker and what the distinction is. The shifts that she's experienced and witnessed in other women when they have a safe and supportive community to share their stories. How you can honor your truth as a writer, business owner, wife, mother, daughter, and human being. The way she helps other women to bravely share their voices and their stories. She shared so many gems and was such a source of light, I think you'll really enjoy listening – and even relistening – to her mantras and self-reflection prompts. About LaCresia: LaCresia is a native Illinoisan and passionate about helping women own their stories. Through her upstart community OneEighty she creates safe spaces for women to share their life experiences. She passionately believes that when we share our stories of triumph, pain, and victory countless lives are changed and transformed. Illinois' five taxpayer-funded state pension systems are second worst in the nation when it comes to debt. The American Legislative Exchange Council, (ALEC) released “Unaccountable and Unaffordable”, which puts the total unfunded pension liability at $8.2 trillion nationwide. Illinois' liability was second worst at $533 billion. Only California, with a much larger population than Illinois, was worse. The ALEC report also shows Illinois has the second highest unfunded pension liability per capita at over $41,656 per person. That ranks 49th in the country ahead of only Alaska. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/illinois-in-focus/support

New episodes will be coming back at you every other week starting at the end of March. We've been hard at work and have numerous interviews recorded and queued up for the editing bay. Today's episode is my conversation with Scott Schluter on taking out IL Governor, JB Pritzker. As an Illinoisan, I am painfully aware of the fact that Pritzker needs to go. He ran heavily on legalizing cannabis and he actually made it happen... However, he failed to mention that, if a "pandemic" breaks out, he'll also go full-tyrant, illegally forceing small businesses to shut down and pretending like he has the authority to mandate what you wear. So like.... thanks for the expensive weed... I guess.Scott sees the corruption and in this episode he shares incite on his plan to run against Pritler, what Scott sees as the most crucial issues to our community, and the added level of arbitrary hurdles that come with running as a Libertarian.Question everything. On today's episode, we have the honor of learning from Dr. Richard Mulvaney. As a native Illinoisan with a long term interest in soil science and agronomy, he always has the passion for agriculture. He has taught soil fertility at UIUC since 1983 and is known for his agronomist research. Dr. Mulvaney and Rod will burrow into how we can manage Nitrogen better to transform our farm soils and its fertility. We started on a recommendation made years ago on the amount of Nitrogen needed for every bushel of corn where Dr. Mulvaney narrated an account of when and how the 1.2 theory has been made including the assumption it's based on. It is our great pleasure to learn from him! Come, tune in and listen! Episode 30 Highlights ✨ 00:38 Kayla introduces Dr. Richard Mulvaney

With the recent ongoing hot topic on Potassium, we are going to dig deeper on its paradox, the importance of building the right soil levels, the plants' major role in releasing potassium in between the clay layers, and soil mining. Remarkably, some of you listeners might have the same shift of faith as Dr. Mulvaney had when he discovered things tracing back issues on the nutrient mobility and availability. Also, you'll definitely want to stick and hear about this issue on K test levels, surely come in handy to taking better care of your farm soils. It is our great pleasure to learn from him! On today's show, Marc talks about some more Red Dead Redemption 2 because you talk about what you play, eh, and they've been playing a lot of that there shoot and tootin' game. In addition to sucking gallons of poison like one does when they're an Illinoisan, Marc also talks about the American Wilds expansion for Spintires: MudRunner, the arcade volleyball game Super Volley Blast, and the very pixelated Super Pixel Racers. Anyway, something-something questionable and reputable, cheers and enjoy the anime-zing(ly super) show. Anyway, that's it and that's all folks. If you're feeling extra generous, you can become a patron, donate a little something-something, or subscribe to show your support for the site, the plentiful podcasts, the various videos, the absurd art, and all of the other nonsense we make over here at Pixelated Sausage. Thanks for being a fan.

With transportation so high what ground is there for me to do anything but grumble? So thinks the farmer of North Dakota. I have no wheat to sell at the high price, says the Iowan. Hog products are low, join in a chorus, the farmers of Iowa, Missouri, and other parts of the Northwest, while those in other States declare all that they have to sell brings small returns. Our answer is, be thankful for the prosperity of your neighbors, even if in another State; be thankful for health; you have no yellow fever. Be thankful for the frost which has at length arrived to kill the fever germs. Be thankful for a brave heart and faith in God. Take new courage and look forward and upward.
