Jesus is different than every other religion. Every other religion's principles could exist without their founders, but Christianity could not exist without Jesus. Christianity is not simply a doctrine; it is a person. It is more than rules; it is a marriage with Jesus that changes us from the inside out.

Hearing and believing will lead to faith, but hearing the Word is not enough, we must obey it. For the Word of God is alive and powerful. God is alive and powerful. The Word of God is like a two-edged sword that pierces deep into our hearts and consciences. The Word of God tests the intentions of our hearts. The Word of God is the Word of Christ. At the same time, Christ is the Word of God. The Word that penetrates our hearts, reveals our innermost intentions, and brings us under His judgement is the Lord Jesus Christ.
All the books, both the Old and New Testaments, were written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. In this world, no other book can compare with the Holy Bible. There are many books that contain deep meanings, instructive things, and important points, but there is only one book that contains the Word of God, and that is the Holy Bible. Only the Holy Bible was written by the breath of God and under the direct inspiration of the Holy Spirit. And for this reason, we humans can trust the written Word of God in the Holy Bible. The Holy Bible is the Word of God and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. By studying the Word of God, by learning its teachings, and by heeding its warnings and corrections, the man of God will be complete, completely equipped for every good work.
Ultimately, the doctrine of the Bible boils down to the question of its reliability and authority. As I said last week, if we can’t trust ALL of Scripture, how can we trust any of it? That’s why it is vital to be clear on what it means for God to inspire the biblical writers so that what they wrote are in fact the words of God Himself. That is our basis for the truthfulness, trustworthiness, and authority of the Bible. In this sermon, I'll unpack the implications of believing the that Bible is the Inspired Word of God.

https://linktr.ee/thunderinglegion Today we build on Episode 37: Spiritual Threats, Weapons, and Tactics (w/ Major James “Hook” Knauss). In Episode 37, we discussed the Word of God as our our offensive weapon. In today's interview, we are going to get to know our weapon better. Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Ephesians 6:17 "Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." Resources: Thundering Legion Episode 37: Spiritual Threats, Weapons, and Tactics (w/ Major James “Hook” Knauss) Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy Alexander the Great and Hellenization Old Testament Passages Cited by Jesus Christ The Case for Christ: A Journalist's Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus Secular historical sources: "The Bible Says Jesus Was Real. What Other Proof Exists?" Discussion questions: What is the Bible? Inerrant, Infallible, Inspired Word of God What are some common objections to the authority of the bible? How did the Bible as we have it today come into existence? Old Testament: Jewish scriptures as accepted by the Jews. New Testament: Process of textual criticism by councils and people. How did history, language, and culture affect the Bible? New Testament written in Greek (Alexander the Great hellinization). Manuscript evidence: We have numerous fragments of scripture within 25 to a couple hundred years of the actual event. 1 Cor 15:3 lists “in accordance of the scriptures” people that Jesus appeared to. If original witnesses are still alive when manuscripts published, they are more likely to be accure Other secular historical sources document basic parts of Jesus' life and the Gospel narrative. How can Christians be confident in the authority of the Bible? All the disciples go to death confessing Jesus as Lord and resurrection, except John who was exiled to Patmos. Nobody will die for a lie, but people will die for something they believe is true. If we claim the Gospel message, Jesus claims the scriptures are true. So we either accept or reject Jesus as Lord. Abraham's Family, How Yeshua Kept from Sinning Even as a Youth The Bible clearly tells us that Yeshua was tempted in all ways as we are, yet He did not sin. How did He do it? Did He have something available to Him that we don't have available to us? If that was the case than He would not have been tempted in all ways as we are, so that can't be the answer. Yet He did what no one has done, but which all are called to do. So how did He do it? Finding the answer to that question is the vital key to living a godly life. We will discover the answer to that all important question today, from the Bible. Some people picture Yeshua walking around with a halo over His head, or that His mother was immaculate in order to give birth to a perfect child, but neither of those are pictures that the Bible give us. The Bible says, “Yeshua grew both in wisdom and in stature, gaining favor both with other people and with God.” Luke 2:52. Thus He continually grew with God while here on earth. The Inspired Word of God also tells us, in relation to when He descended from His Divinity to earth, “as the children have partaken of flesh & blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same… Therefore, in all things He had to be made like” us. So since He was made (when He came to this earth) “in all things like us” how did He do what you and I have not done? The Bible also tells us that we will “arrive… at full manhood, at the standard of maturity set by the Messiah's perfection.” Ephesians 4:13. That is a wonderful promise that we also will grow in stature to the full maturity of Messiah's perfection, wow. And to those who receive that promise receive this gift: “To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” Revelation 3:21 Thus He became “in all things like us” to be our example, so that we can be in all things like Him. But how? How can we overcome as He also overcame? We will find out today! Yeshua, the Seed of Abraham By looking at Abraham's family line it will help us understand a little more about Yeshua and how we, like Him, can have victory no matter our inherited tendencies to do wrong. Abraham's family line, through his father Terah, is a very interesting study. There were many intermarriages among family members bringing about some interesting results. For example Abraham married his half-sister Sarah, Abraham's nephew Lot was raped by his own daughters, and several other family related bed fellows. All of that inbreeding brought about several nations. Overcomers with God Today Rabbi Jeff Zaremsky ties Abraham's family line and our relationship to Yeshua together and shows us, from scripture and illustration, how Yeshua overcame temptation throughout His life, and how we also can be overcomers with God. EVERY word of the Bible is important. Did you know that the New Testament was written in Koine Greek? Did you know that there are 24 different ways to say the word THE in that language? And that each THE actually gives very specific information about the object being described in gender, number, time period etc? The Bible is actually EXTREMELY precise compared to the English language and God actually inspired EVERY SINGLE verse, word, and letter used. Listen to this episode now to find out more details and why this is so important. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastor-steven/support
