They open up about the heartbreak of a recent miscarriage with their surrogate, the physical and emotional toll of Amanda undergoing another round of IVF shots and surgery, and the rollercoaster of waiting for embryo results. Daniel also shares a surprisingly humorous, yet frustrating, account of his experience providing a sperm sample at the fertility clinic, and they discuss the difficult decision of how much of their infertility struggles to share publicly. Beyond the fertility talk, the conversation takes interesting turns, touching on bizarre topics like objectophilia (being in love with inanimate objects), philosophical discussions about wealth, happiness, and scarcity versus abundance mindsets, and a passionate debate about tipping culture, particularly concerning delivery drivers. They also touch on the concept of communal tipping and how it relates to broader societal ideas. Tune in for a raw, honest, and wide-ranging discussion from the couple.

One of the things that is painfully missing from a lot of people's fertility journey is information. Getting information from your doctor about yourself can sometimes be very difficult. I am very excited to introduce to you a woman (and her amazing company) who is offering a solution to this problem. Amy Beckley is the founder of Proov, makers of at-home fertility screening with medical-quality diagnostic testing and support that can increase your chances of pregnancy. Amy herself had multiple miscarriages and doctors telling her that it was normal for someone her age and there wasn't really an issue. Knowing there was more to the story, she took matters into her own hands after doing IVF, it was a simple progesterone supplement that she used to finally conceive. In our conversation Amy and I talk not only about her products but about hormone health and ovulation. Every interaction that you have where you feel triggered, where you enter into a pattern of behavior be it anger, anxiety, stress, fear has an origin outside of that moment. The person or scenario triggering the pattern is merely acting as a mirror to help you work through and release that pattern. In this week's episode of the FU Project podcast, I talk to Cedric Bertelli. Cedric Bertelli is the Founder and Director of the Emotional Health Institute (EHI), an organization that provides information and education about Emotional Resolution®, or EmRes®. EHI gives people struggling with stress, depression, anxiety, and many other negative emotions access to the best-trained professionals who can guide them to resolve disruptive emotional patterns. EHI has taught thousands of adults how to resolve their emotional difficulties. In the San Francisco Bay area alone, over 200 teachers were trained to use Emotional Resolution with children thanks to the Insitute's collaboration with Dedication Special Education and the Marin County Office of Education. Cedric began to study and research the Emotional Resolution (EmRes) process in 2009 in his home country of France and has developed his understanding of emotional functioning and his craftsmanship of EmRes throughout the years. In addition to training mental health professionals, coaches, and educators on Emotional Resolution, Cedric also works with clients individually. Join me this week for more fertility advice and adventure as we talk about: How emotions are made. How stress and emotional difficulties can actually be resolved. What is Emotional Resolution®, or EmRes® and how it can help. How emotional patterns - emotional clutter - can keep you from getting and staying pregnant. And so much more! Approximately 1/3 of infertility is attributed to the female, 1/3 to the male, and 1/3 is caused by a combination or is unexplained. So why does this conversation always feel so female-focused? Males can have low sperm count, low motility, low viability, and more. Fertility is just as much a female challenge as it is a male challenge. So why do we feel embarrassed when our male counterparts face a fertility challenge? In today's episode of the FU Project podcast, we are talking Male Fertility: I Heart Men With Low Sperm Count. Stop feeling shame and embarrassment around male infertility and start feeling empowered to take control of your journey. Laura has two children via IVF. So what makes her story so interesting you might ask? I'm glad you did. Laura's first child, Owen, is biologically her and her husband's child. Her second child, Julian, is biologically her husband's, but not her's. That's right. Laura made the challenging decision to use an egg donor for her second child after having a biological child. I brought Laura on to the podcast because I know this is such a tough decision for so many women and families. Oftentimes, there are fears like: Will I love this child as much as my biological child? How do I choose an egg donor? Will people know that the child isn't biologically mine? It's enough to make your head spin. Join us for this week's episode of the FU Project Podcast as Laura shares her experience of using an egg donor after having a biological baby. Join us this week for another inspiring Path to Parenthood interview! Have you ever wondered why animals, after constantly fighting to stay alive, are never traumatized? The whole animal kingdom would not be what it is today if this were the case. Like, Tom & Jerry would have been a completely different show. So why is it that animals never seem to internalize their trauma, but we humans do? Animals, after tapping into that sympathetic nervous system and initiating the fight or flight response, make their way to a safe place and discharge all of that energy that was needed to get them to safety. Turns out, we humans also have this same capacity to discharge all of that generated energy after experiencing trauma. The only difference is either we haven't figured out a way to release said energy or our bodies still detect a threat. You're probably like “Okay, great…then what do I do now?” Enter Somatic Experiencing. In this week's episode of The FU Project podcast, I interview Rachel Cole, a licensed Somatic Experiencing practitioner, and clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience. Meet Ashley. Before joining the FU Project, Ashley went through two failed IUIs and one unsuccessful IVF treatment. She felt stressed and bogged down by the constant search for, "Why can't I get pregnant?" Luckily, it only took a few failures before Ashley asked for help. Ashley learned that infertility is not just a scientific process but a culmination of science, mind, and body. Meet Kelli Kelli is not our typical Path to Parenthood story. Kelli had her first child through IVF after two rounds. Meet Jessica. Jessica and her husband thought IVF was the answer to their unexplained infertility woes. A doctor would take her eggs, combine them with his sperm, and POOF - a baby. They expected IVF to work on the first round (hint, it took 4 more rounds). When Jessica found the FU Project Workshop, she was still skeptical about bringing in an additional team to help her and her husband on their fertility journey. In fact, she and her husband were the only two people that knew they were going through IVF for the first 2 rounds of treatment. It was an incredibly foreign concept to bring in additional support to assist them. After all, why would anyone need more assistance outside of the doctors and embryologists they are already working with? They're the experts, aren't they? Join me this week for another inspiring story and find out where Jessica and her husband are today on their fertility journey. At the ripe age of 33, I would have laughed at anyone that tried to tell me that it would take more than two rounds to have my family. After all, fertility wasn't my problem. An open letter to all fertility clinics... Have a little more respect for my vagina. I realize that you may be used to having women spread eagle in a room while you're going about your business, but for us, it's strange AF! I recently had one of the hardest weeks of my life this past December. I was working double time so that I could feel prepared to take a week off for the holidays (that's already stressful at any point in the year), but then my husband was diagnosed with covid and my dad was dying from covid all at the same time. Stress, whether acute or traumatic, has affected us all. We learn that stress is bad for our body and mind, but we rarely learn healthy tactics to combat it while we are in the trenches. When we don't practice emotional wellness during stressful times, we end up suppressing our emotions entirely, wrongly lashing out at another person who doesn't deserve it or we seek “comfort” in areas that provide that instant gratification that hurts us in the long run. Sound familiar? We've all been there. Thankfully, during one of my most stressful weeks of my life, I had strategies that helped me understand and process my emotions and experiences so that I didn't crumble to pieces all day, every day (note: I did breakdown, naturally, I'm human. But it could have been much worse). On this episode of the FU Project, I go over strategies for handling immense stress that don't involve pushing past and ignoring your emotions. Tune in for actionable ways to get in tune with your reality and emotions in order to handle stressful situations, like your fertility journey, better. What You'll Learn How a balanced physiology matters when handling stress What things I did correctly and poorly when handling my stress Why stopping what you're doing is more important than ignoring your emotions And much more! “The journey to anything great, extraordinary, means a lot of battles, a lot of obstacles and a lot of lessons.” - Tasha Blasi Resources https://www.tashablasi.com/connect Suzie Batiz's ALIVE OS,Transform Your Reality & Live a More Alive Life How to connect with Tasha Tashablasi.com Connect with the health and fitness experts from the episode at support@tashablasi.com How to get involved If you would like more information about The FU Project and my mission to get you pregnant so much faster and smarter than I did, please check out my website. Oh yes, I'm going there. We are talking about God, Religion and your IVF journey. Religion can play a huge role in your life's decisions. It can play an even more confusing role if your religion and life goals create conflicting in ideologies. But is IVF and fertility support innately against God's will? Are you playing God by using IVF to get you pregnant? This whole God conversation started because someone thought it was wrong and ungodly for me to have my blonde haired, blue eyed children through IVF. They thought it was wrong for me to be able to choose my childrens' traits by picking out which embryo - wait, what? Choose my children's traits? What is this, a scifi movie? Personally, I thought it was wrong for them to voice their opinion over my fertility journey when they obviously knew nothing about IVF. On this episode of the FU Project, I explain why God supports IVF and why this procedure to support your reproductive system is no different than any other life altering surgery. Tune in for a healthy look at how religion should or should not impact your fertility journey. Meet Jennifer… Getting pregnant seemed like an uphill battle with both her husband and herself having fertility issues. They tried for two years, both naturally and through IVF, before they found me. When we met she had already went through 2 egg retrievals and 5 failed transfers with genetically tested embryos, interviewing surrogates as a possible option and then natural pregnancy that ended in a miscarriage. The natural pregnancy proved to herself that she could get pregnant, but she needed a new option moving forward in their fertility journey. Through the FU project, Jennifer found a community that understood her struggles and allowed her to another outlet that provided her immensely helpful support. Listen to how she was able to find her happy self again, create boundaries, and view this life-changing journey as one to make her even better than ever before. What You'll Learn Where she was in her fertility journey when we first met The struggles she had to overcome How she did the work, implemented the tools and strategies we teach Where she currently is in her fertility journey And much more! From simple prayers to multi-step mystic processes, there is no shortage of weird tips, tricks and superstitions people subscribe to in order to get and stay pregnant. When you're going on your 10th round of IVF like I was, you get a little desperate for something to make you magically pregnant, even if that involves taking crazy advice from strangers. On what would be my final round of IVF, I found myself open to do anything that may potentially get me pregnant. But when I got the advice to do this crazy thing, I was skeptical thinking there was no way this could actually do anything to help my fertility journey. For days, I tried to find a loop-hole around the entire situation. On this episode of the FU Project, I talk about how a psychic's reading led me down a path to eventually using a watermelon and yellow cloth to hopefully become pregnant on my 10th round of IVF. Tune in for a ridiculous story and a good laugh over what I did to FINALLY get pregnant. What You'll Learn What it means to trust your gut when taking advice Why I bought watermelon, molasses and yellow cloth How 10 rounds of IVF will make you willing to try anything And much more! Meet Charlotte… She needed IVF due to a male factor (like we did) and thought that IVF was going to create control and order in her fertility journey (like I did). When we met, Charlotte just had a miscarriage after IVF. It was then that she realized she needed support and guidance moving forward through her fertility journey. She originally joined the FU project just to get an opinion over how she should get and stay pregnant. What she discovered was her own voice and options that truly empowered her in life and on her fertility journey. Listen to what she did that she credits to her successful fertility journey and how this is impacting her life, career, and motherhood. What You'll Learn Where she was in her fertility journey when we first met The struggles she had to overcome How she did the work, implemented the tools and strategies we teach Where she currently is in her fertility journey And much more! Meet Jamie… For Jamie, she had her first child easily through a couple rounds of IVF. When she tried to have her second child, things didn't go as smoothly. After many failed rounds and lots of frustration, Jamie felt like she hit rock bottom in her fertility journey. When we met, Jamie thought that her dreams of having a family of four may never actually happen. There was nothing technically wrong with her or her eggs, but IVF just didn't seem to be working this time around. She thought that if she had difficulty getting pregnant when she was younger, how could she possibly get pregnant now? We discuss how changing her clinic and lifestyle impacted her fertility journey and what she did to be successfully (and quickly!) pregnant with her second baby boy. What You'll Learn Where she was in her fertility journey when we first met The struggles she had to overcome How she did the work, implemented the tools and strategies we teach Where she currently is in her fertility journey And much more! Meet Megan… She has severe diminished ovarian reserve (only makes 1-2 eggs on stimulation drugs), has severe endometriosis (two laparoscopy surgeries) and was told it would be impossible for her to have a child with her own eggs. She was at the most famous clinic in the USA with an exceptional doctor and was brave enough to leave there (and trust me) to go to a different, less known, doctor. Megan and I get real really fast as she opens up about how her physical body was responding due to a lack of space or energy for herself. Instead, it was her "dysfunctional family" that got all of her space and energy. Listen to her talk about how she got out of "victim mode" and created boundaries and healed her body and mind and got pregnant with her own eggs. Is IVF feeling unfair? Are you riding the emotional rollercoaster and wondering why your partner seems to be sitting cool, calm and collected on the sidelines? It's easy to feel like you're making all of the sacrifice while your partner's life seems unfazed by the IVF rollercoaster? IVF is a huge commitment and places a lot of physical, emotional and mental demand on the female. This doesn't mean that your partner doesn't feel anything throughout the process, but they are experiencing the process through a completely different lens. IVF brings to the surface all of the little things within relationships that have been swept under the rug or haven't really been an issue up to this point. If you and your partner are struggling through the IVF process, now is the time to fix and address any miscommunication or support woes because adding a baby to the mix WILL NOT solve these. If anything, a child will only throw fuel on an already raging fire. On this week's episode of the FU Project podcast I interview Kate Rouze, our phenomenal mindset coach in the FU Project workshop. She is also an executive and personal coach, and co-founder of BeCurrent (www.becurrenttoday.com). Some of her favorite work includes supporting individuals in relationship, with themselves and those closest to them. What You'll Learn How to recognize space for growth during stress What clear communication in a relationship looks and feels like How to create strategies for great communication with your partner And much more!
Meet Erin… For Erin, deciding to do IVF after trying for about a year wasn't the problem. In fact, she was confident going into IVF since there were no obvious problems with her or her partner's fertility. When we met she had done two rounds of IVF. She had everything going for her - high egg reserve at 39 and loads of embryos after fertilization. But she only has a total of 1 embryo (between the two rounds) by the end. We discuss what got her to try IVF again even with paralyzing fears that it just wouldn't work for her and what she did to finally be successful and enjoy her adorable four-month-old baby girl today. ARE YOU STILL IN A TOXIC RELATIONSHIP? Hint: You probably are. But it is with yourself. Handling the stress of your fertility journey is downright difficult. Fertility journeys are a perfect breeding ground for those negative thoughts to creep into your head and control how you react to your own life. That being said, regardless of whether you've heard of a Drama Triangle, you've probably been a part of one. Drama Triangles occur whenever we let our default, toxic emotional response take the reins and control how we process fear and shame.
Meet Michelle… Michelle had completely embraced the IVF route for her fertility journey. She was pretty confident and believed she was going to get pregnant the first go-around. Flash forward through four failed transfers and learning to cope with anger and frustration, she not only got pregnant but developed a more positive, healthy mindset. When we met, Michelle had a failed transfer at her first clinic and was devastated. Together we worked to change clinics and create a healthier mental space during her fertility journey. Listen to how she totally changed her mindset and took control of her own journey instead of being consumed by bitterness. What You'll Learn Where she was in her fertility journey when we first met The struggles she had to overcome How she did the work, implemented the tools and strategies we teach Where she currently is in her fertility journey And much more! When you're going through your fertility journey, navigating the holidays can seem daunting: The holiday cards featuring someone's newborn or seeing a pregnant relative or hearing how one of your friends got pregnant so easily can be absolutely devastating depending on your current mindset. Then there's the “advice.” Your aunt gives you her special 8-step routine to increase your fertility. Your mom thinks you need to change your diet. Someone else chimes in saying you must try this thing that their second cousin's sister did to become pregnant. While bracing for the inappropriate questions to the unsolicited advice to the newly pregnant relative making their announcement at dinner, the holidays can seem, well, gloomy and dreadful. On this episode of The FU Project Podcast, I provide tips and guidance to conquering the holiday-fertility-journey-anxiety (and making a game out of it!) so that you can feel empowered to enjoy the holiday season like the rest of them. Because, trust me, you deserve it. Tune in to learn how to confront those uncomfortable questions and love yourself during a season of constant comparison. What You'll Learn What to do when someone asks you an inappropriate question about your fertility journey How to handle the “free” advice you get from loved ones How to have a more joyful and loving holiday season And much more!
