This epiosde is all about the chilling deathbed confession of Clyde, an 82-year-old West Virginia mountain man who, after forty years of silence, reveals the night he crossed paths with something ancient—and deadly. In 1983, deep on Beartown Ridge, Clyde's life became entangled with a wounded Sasquatch whose rage and desperation had turned it from a hidden legend into a relentless predator.Told through the lens of a lengthy, almost desperate email to a stranger, Clyde's story weaves generations of Appalachian folklore with a harrowing first-hand account of survival. It begins with eerie tales passed down from his grandfather—stories of glowing-eyed creatures prowling the ridgelines since 1902—and builds to a terrifying truth: a bear hunter's shot in 1981 didn't just wound a Sasquatch, it unleashed a predator that stalked the hollows, perhaps even claiming the lives of missing children.Clyde's account avoids the usual Bigfoot clichés. Instead, it paints a disturbing portrait of intelligence and intent—a creature limping from an old wound, calculating every move, and watching with an almost human hunger in its eyes. His final confrontation, where he was forced to fire again and again just to survive, left more than scars. It left a lifetime of guilt. But this is more than a survival tale. Clyde believes his actions shattered an unspoken balance between the Sasquatch and the mountain folk, triggering a wave of encounters and disappearances that still haunt the region. His confession is not just a warning but a reckoning—one that suggests the mountains remember every trespass, and that some wounds, once inflicted, can never truly heal.Get Our FREE NewsletterGet Brian's Books Leave Us A VoicemailVisit Our WebsiteSupport Our SponsorsVisit Untold Radio AMBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sasquatch-odyssey--4839697/support.

In today’s deep dive, China is a major buyer of U.S. agricultural goods including specialty products that have few alternative markets. Some producers worry the on-and-off tariffs with the country could hurt America's reputation as a reliable seller.
Proposed cuts to Medicaid could mean more uninsured people in Wisconsin and financial pressure on rural hospitals. Some health policy organizations are speaking out. We've got the latest on the political wrangling over the state budget. And, ginseng growers in central Wisconsin have seen exports to China virtually stop this year.
Specialty producers exporting to China have been hit just as hard as soybeans and beef. But they often have fewer alternative markets for their crops, worsening the impact of retaliatory tariffs.
Beth Coghlan takes a look at ginseng sales in Missouri.

Artist Craig Thompson joins the show at long last to celebrate his new book, GINSENG ROOTS: A Memoir (Pantheon). We talk about how he spent ten summers of his childhood helping farm ginseng, how that herb connects rural Wisconsin with China and South Korea, how he balanced history, journalism, economics, and memoir in the pages of his book, and why he chose to make Ginseng Roots as a serial comic rather than a standalone book and how that affected his creative process. We get into how the book serves as a sort of midlife revision of his breakthrough book, Blankets, how the last chapter of the book had to happen in near-real-time, how a degenerative condition in his hands became a unifying theme to the book while almost derailing it, how he found the design language of the book and obsessed over a two-color process (to amazing results), and whether this is his swansong for comics (spoiler: it's not!). We also discuss what home means to him, 8 months into being on the road, what it was like discovering that he had a global audience, his ongoing relationship with his evangelical Christian upbringing, his editor's concerns that Ginseng Roots could open him up to accusations of cultural insensitivity (and how he got over it), all while geeking out over our fave cartoonists from the '90s indy period (go, Dylan Horrocks!), and more. Today, we welcome acclaimed graphic novelist Craig Thompson to discuss his latest tome, Ginseng Roots. In this deeply personal book, Thompson returns to his rural Wisconsin roots to explore the fascinating world of ginseng cultivation that shaped his childhood. The conversation spans Craig's artistic evolution since his breakthrough memoir Blankets, his research trips to China that informed the book's historical elements, and how his early farming experiences continue to influence his creative process. You can keep up with Craig's latest work and appearances through his official website craigthompsonbooks.com or by following him on Instagram @craigthompsonbooks. Support the show

Join me, Dr. Mike T. Nelson, on the Flex Diet Podcast as I sit down with Dr. Jeremy Townsend to explore the fascinating world of adaptogens. We're diving deep into how compounds like Rhodiola rosea, ashwagandha, and eleuthero can enhance performance, support muscle growth, and improve body composition—all without compromising overall health.Throughout our conversation, we discuss what the research says about these powerful herbs, including how they influence stress resilience, recovery, and athletic performance. Dr. Townsend also unpacks the science behind optimal dosages, potential mental and physical stress effects, and the nuances of using adaptogens effectively. Beyond that, we discuss the often-overlooked role of micronutrition in maximizing performance and overall well-being, an area that too many athletes neglect. We also touch on how AG1 contributes to the field of nutritional science and why paying attention to the right vitamins and minerals can make a measurable difference in training outcomes. If you're looking for evidence-based insights on adaptogens, recovery, and performance, this episode is packed with valuable takeaways.Sponsors:Tecton Life Ketone drink! https://tectonlife.com/ DRMIKE to save 20%LMNT electrolyte drink mix: miketnelsonlmnt.comDr. Mike's Fitness Insider Newsletter: Sign up for free at https://miketnelson.com/.Flex 4: Check out Dr. Townsend's top nutrients that most people are missing: https://miketnelson.com/flex4/Triphasic 2 book now available!Go to https://triphasic2.com/Episode Chapters:03:21 Dr. Townsend's Background and Research04:52 Understanding Adaptogens06:58 Adaptogens for Sports Performance10:12 Quality and Standardization of Adaptogens14:00 Sourcing and Economic Considerations24:35 Client Reactions to Ashwagandha24:54 Exploring the Benefits of Ashwagandha25:58 Personalizing Supplementation27:55 Different Forms of Ashwagandha and Adaptogens30:25 Ginseng and Its Mixed Data32:28 The Complexity of Supplement Bioavailability38:35 The Role of Micronutrients in Health45:49 AG1 and Future Research Flex Diet Podcast Episodes You May Enjoy: Episode 293: Optimizing Athletic Performance with Ben Mayfield-Smith Episode 273: Unlocking Better Sleep: Insights and Strategies from Dr. Chris PerryConnect with Dr Townsend:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jtownsendphd/AG1 Website: https://drinkag1.com/Get In Touch with Dr Mike:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/drmiketnelson/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCn1aTbQqHglfNrENPm0GTpgEmail: https://miketnelson.com/contact-us/
In most cases, men are potent and have psychological problems to sleep with women. If you think that you are impotent, do a clinical erection test by yourself - is at the end…If you have a physical problem: Go to the doctor to scan your prostate. If the prostate is okay, fast for at least 7 days that the blood vessel in that lower abdomen can be purified and the physical problem is solved. Or look up for Mantak Cia /Tao-Garden in Chiang Mai in Thailand, they can solve your problem. Low testosterone level and aging. I recommend these herbs. 1.) Fo-Ti (He Shou Wu, Chinese Cornbind)2.) Ginseng3.) Ashwagandha4.) Gingko Biloba5.) Goji Berries (Wolf Berries)6.) Astragalar7.) Lingzhi Mushrooms8.) Gotu Kola9.) Jiao Gu Lan The first 5 herbs are increasing your testosterone and other sexual hormones… At least they make your body strong. The last 4 herbs are for busting your immune system and heart… I take all of them every day by capsules or as tea. Many men become homosexual because of their problems with women.About 70% of all married couples experience a sexual dysfunction in their lifetime! The wives think that the men are impotent and can't see that maybe they are the problem!I will cover now the psychological problems. Why can't men get an erection? It is a performance anxiety caused through:1.) Sexually abused in your childhood.2.) Dominant mother or sister that pushed you always down.3.) Bad consciousness. 4.) Too much stress or tension.5.) Sham.6.) Fear of failure7.) Relationship problems.8.) Unattractive sexual partner9.) Rejection of women.Because the anxiety causes the erection problem. To get an erection:We need to be aroused and relaxed. Tip 1Exercises (see also Youtube: Mantak Chia at the end)Masturbate every second day until you have a full erection and then stop. Let your erection die and re-arouse yourself again… Make that 3 times and then it is allowed to release your semen. You can use pornography or imagination of sexual situation. Psychology effect:You train your brain, that you can arouse yourself and don't need to release your semen. Tip 2:Solve your relationship problems. Or better go to a therapist or group… When I have problems in the relationship or if I want to sleep just so with a girl, I can't do so. Because my body and mind reject that women… I need intimacy and without intimacy, I can't sleep with any women. And I was sexually abused in my childhood…. that makes sex with women much more difficult. Never the less I have slept with over 100 women… and many times I could not. When I could solve often that problem with a so bad childhood then you can do too! Still, it is a challenge and that is good so!Tip 3:Speak about your sexual problems and find other ways to improve your sex life.Couples, who just give up on the sexual dysfunction of the man will never get the sexual problems solved. Touch your partner, be lovely and don't set yourself under pressure. Sleep naked, be close to your partner and try to arouse each other without any tension. Make your partner orgasms without an intercourse. My Video: Why can't men sleep with women? https://youtu.be/FRlr5QmSEWUMy Audio: https://divinesuccess.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/Podcast.B/Why-can't-men-sleep-with-women.mp3
Because of Physical issues and Psychology issues.1.) Low libido. When having a menopausal problem,- the females have a lack of sex hormones or a dry vagina. In these cases, they have pain when they have sex… Or if the body is too fat. 2.) Difficulty being aroused. When women are:stressed out, tired, depressed, too many problems, bad lover, or have anxiety. -the majority of women don't like under these circumstances to have sex with men.3.) Aversion to sex and/or of men.If a girl is growing up in a family that abuse sex then the girl will have a bad consciousness if it will enjoy sex.On average every 10th girl is sexually abused through their family… In both cases, the sexually abused woman needs a therapy to get rid of all these aversions of sex and traumas. Otherwise, intimacy or a deep connection to her boyfriend or spouse will be a problem.4.) Asexuality. Women who have no or less sex drive… That is possible.5.) Inability to reach orgasm.Up to 10-20% of women never achieve an orgasm. In all cases exist some remedies… First, check a female doctor. A.) For a low testosterone level, menopause and aging take daily:1.) Maca powder from a high altitude mountain (Andean) (otherwise it will not work!!!). Maca powder can be very powerful to overcome menopause. Or try Ashwagandha (can't be used during pregnancy). 2.) Ginseng3.) Fo-Ti (He Shou Wu, Chinese Cornbind)4.) Gingko Biloba5.) Goji Berries (Wolf Berries)6.) Astragalar7.) Lingzhi Mushrooms8.) Gotu Kola9.) Jiao Gu Lan The first 5 herbs are increasing your testosterone and other sexual hormones… At least they make your body strong. The last 4 herbs are for busting your immune system and heart…B.) Zesta (a botanical oil to apply to the genitals) to enhance the climax of women.C.) INTONE ™ and Intensity™ are approved electrical stimulating devices that can help to get an orgasm and help to treat the urinary leakage in women. D.) Vaginal estrogen – Available as a cream, a tablet or a vaginal ring, and considered the best treatment for genital arousal problems and pain from vulvovaginal atrophy that occurs in many postmenopausal women.E.) Off-Label use of Vaginal DHEA 1 percent suppository – An adrenal precursor that women with vaginal atrophy/thinning/decreased sensation can use as an alternative to vaginal estrogen.F.) Osphena – The first, non-estrogen oral therapy for moderate to severe painful sexual activity due to vulvovaginal atrophy.G.) Flibanserin (Addyi®) – This drug was recently approved by the FDA to restore female sexual desire in women before menopause. It must be taken orally every day, and it may have side effects, such as severe low blood pressure and fainting. My Video: Why can't women sleep with men? https://youtu.be/zeT3eA_f_T0My Audio: https://divinesuccess.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/Podcast.B/Why-can't-women-sleep-with-men.mp3

Luke Manget is an author, historian, and assistant professor of history at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. After a reading from an 1870's newspaper about a strange race of beings known as “saugers,” we dive straight into the significance of ginseng on the American frontier [1780's], specifically in southern Appalachia: Va, WV, NC. We get into such topics as: the commons vs private property; old world mandrake folklore; & deterring poachers with traps. Luke then describes the ginseng digger stereotype as perpetuated & mythologized by newspapers of the late 19th-century, opening a discussion about class in Appalachian society. For the last third of the episode we hear about the other roots and herbs that were dug for profit besides ginseng; the counter-medical-establishment herbalism movement of the 1800's; and lastly, newspaper accounts of The Wild Man of the Woods.Reading from Ginseng Diggers: A History of Root and Herb Gathering in Appalachia by Luke Manget.
