O cavalo passou com cilhada e a gente montou em cima e foi embora. Éramos tão jovens. Mas a fama era muito diferente do que é hoje, não éramos reféns de algoritmo. Isso acaba com o lado criativo da pessoa. O nosso som no primeiro disco era algo completamente fora de FM e tínhamos orgulho disso, de ser assim e ainda tocar na rádio. Eu acho que o Renato estaria enlouquecendo com essa coisa de ChatGPT e o diabo. Tá tudo muito rápido. Mas eu acho que ele iria segurar essa onda e escrever algumas coisas a respeito. Marcelo Bonfá. O Renato hoje estaria muito bem, ele tinha uma bagagem intelectual muito grande para lidar com tudo isso que a gente vê por aí. A criatividade morava nele. Trip. Existe alguma coisa que vocês deixaram de falar para o Renato? Como sair em turnê é diferente hoje comparado com aquela época? Dado. O Renato foi embora e, é claro, que ficão sempre coisas pendentes. Coisas bobas da vida. Um grande respeito por ele, mas eu lembro muito bem que a gente gravou nosso primeiro disco e eu era ainda um aprendiz do instrumento. Um dia eu li o diário dele e ele meteu, em inglês, um: “I Hate Those Guitars” [eu odeio o som daquelas guitarras]. Mas era o que eu tinha para dar, então eu queria ter perguntado pra ele: “Mas como?”. Depois, eu sei que ele começou a curtir e a gente virou essa banda que é a Legião Urbana. Bonfá. Eu não lembro de nada que poderia ter falada e nem ouvido dele. A gente se afastou depois que o Renato faleceu e eu precisei desenvolver várias coisas neste meio tempo. Comecei a cantar e a enveredar por todas as áreas da produção. As coisas mudaram muito e estar na estrada hoje é diferente porque a gente tem todo esse conhecimento de vida. Hoje eu posso falar: ‘Cara, só não vale sofrer, pode amor, pode tudo, mas não vai sofrer'.

This week on the show Maine and Miranda recap the 2022 ADCC South American Trials 2 F2W 193 and Preview the 2022 IBJJF European Championships.In the news section of the show we discuss how important trials are and why we are happy to have footage. In the recap section of the show we discuss the 2022 ADCC South American Trials 2 that took place this weekend and recap all the finals for each division.In the Men's -66kg division we discuss Fabricio Andrey submitting Kaua Gabriel barbosa Joao Pessoa with a rear naked choke, including some great leg pummeling earlier in the match. At -77kg we saw Roberto Jimenez submit Fabio Caloi with a rear naked choke after putting on an outstanding pace and running through his trials division. We saw leg lock entries and a reinvigorated version of Roberto. At -88kg we looked at Alexandre Joaquin Campos, taking a close decision over Rafael Paganini. Where both guys left it all on the mat in overtime. In the -99kg division we saw Jose Ceconi submit Luccas Lira with a great back take and rear naked choke to take the trials slot. At +99 we see Gutemberg Pereira go 4 for 4 on the day submitting Leonardo Lemos quickly after a leg kick with a mounted head and arm choke to take the last south american trials slot for the men. In the women's division in -60kg we saw a dominant as ever Mayssa Bastos submit Julia Alves in just over 2 minutes with an off the top armbar shoulder lock combination after some great guard work and top play. In the +60kg division we saw Giovanna Jara out score Ingridd Alves in overtime, after some technical difficulties. In the recap of Fight to Win 193 we talked about the amazing performance from Fromiga on the fight to win stage showing off his attacking style and what makes the rule set so great. We talked about his power armbar and omaplata combination and the armbar submission at the end.In the preview section we run through the adult black belt brackets that were released for the IBJJF European Championship 2022 and discuss who we think are the frontrunners for the division. Enjoy! About Hans: Double bassist Hans Sturm has performed as soloist, chamber, orchestral, jazz and improvisational musician throughout Europe, Asia, South America, Africa and the United States. Sturm received his doctorate from Northwestern University and is currently a Professor and Chair of the String Department at Ball State University.Sturm has appeared with a variety of artists across the spectrum of jazz music including Eddie Daniels, Phil Woods, Randy Brecker, Dick Hyman, Roscoe Mitchell, Joseph Jarman, Eddie Higgins, David Baker, Stanley Jordan, Peter Erskine, Joe LaBarbera, Alan Dawson, Bela Fleck, Howard Levy and many others. A frequent performer of chamber music, Sturm has toured with ‘Fireflight’ (soprano, Japanese koto and bass koto, double bass, and percussion) and ‘Trinkle, Burkett, and Sturm’ (trumpet, marimba and double bass) for more than fifteen years. He has worked in the electronic medium with composers such as Cleveland Scott and Joan Wildman. As an orchestral bassist, he has served as principal bassist of numerous regional orchestras including the Muncie Symphony, Quad Cities Symphony, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, Madison Symphony, Dubuque Symphony, Dorian Opera, Rockford Symphony, and Racine Symphony and toured Europe as a member of the American Sinfonietta Chamber Orchestra.Recently Hans Sturm has appeared at the Beijing Music Festival; the Association of Brazilian Contrabassists International Conventions in Goiania and Pirenopolus, Brazil; the Scottish Bass Trust’s International Convention and the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh Scotland; the College Music Society International Conference in Kyoto, Japan; Encontro de instrumentistas in Joao Pessoa and Belo Horizonte, Brazil; the Biennial International Symposium on Arts and Technology in New London, Connecticut; a State Department tour of Morocco; various International Society of Bassists Conventions in Bloomington, Houston, Indianapolis, Iowa City and Richmond; and jazz fest ivals in Chicago, New York, Detroit, Madison, Milwaukee, and Minneapolis. Sturm has contributed performances and compositions to more than thirty recordings with artists including the Pro Arte String Quartet, soprano Mimmi Fulmer, vocalist Jackie Allen, synthesist/composer Joan Wildman, guitarists Scott Fields, Rolf Sturm, Dave Baney, Jeff Parker, and Jack Grassel, trumpeters Bob Levy and David Young, and pianists Jane Reynolds, and Marilyn Crispell. He has recorded for A440, Innova, Red Mark, Music and Arts, CRI, Big Chicago, and Cadence labels among others.Hans Sturm is currently the President-Elect of the International Society of Bassists and served as the New Music Editor for the organization’s journal ‘Bass World’ for six years. He is on the summer faculty of the National High School Music Institute at Northwestern University and his works for bass are published by Liben Music (U.S.) and Klaus Schruff (Europe). His major teachers have included Northwestern University Professor Jeff Bradetich, Pittsburgh Symphony Principal Bass Emeritus Anthony Bianco, Philadelphia Orchestra bassist Ferdinand Maresh, and international soloist and pedagogue François Rabbath.
