Work with me, connect, newsletter, community This is my go-to meditation for peace, stillness and space. The kind of stillness that quietens the mind enough to hear something deeper, your own inner wisdom, speaking from a place beneath the noise of everyday thinking. In this 30 minute session you will move gently through a breath practice, into open awareness, and finally into a receptive space where you can simply listen. You may come with an intention, something you wish to release, a question you are sitting with, a desire to feel at peace or to let your body heal. Or you may simply come to rest. Both are welcome. There will be long periods of silence. Your mind will wander. That is completely natural and nothing to worry about. Each time it does, just return to the breath and continue. What often surprises people is that the guidance or clarity they were looking for doesn't always arrive during the meditation itself,  it comes later that day, quietly, when the mind is still settled.  Trust what comes. If you have an intention, take a few moments to hold it in mind before you press play. Then let it go and allow the practice to do what it does. Come as you are. Sit comfortably. Something always shifts. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paul Sheppard is a mindset coach and therapist with more than two decades of experience helping people break free from the limitations of the ego. Can Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Transform Your Mind and Your Life? What does Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu really teach about discipline, philosophy, and personal development? In this episode of the WS Podcast, Marcelo Coppa — head referee of UKBJJ and international referee for IBJJF — joins Wojciech Salski to explore the deeper lessons behind Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, competition, and the mindset required to grow in the sport and in life. Marcelo shares his journey into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, beginning with a chance encounter that challenged the Hollywood stereotype of martial arts. What he discovered instead was a culture built on respect, discipline, and personal growth. The conversation explores the evolution of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu over the past two decades, including how the internet, competition circuits, and global federations have transformed the sport. Marcelo explains the crucial role referees play in shaping the rules of the sport and how rule sets influence the way techniques are taught and applied in competition. We also dive into the philosophy behind Jiu-Jitsu. Marcelo discusses how ideas from Taoism and classical philosophy influence the way practitioners approach training, conflict, and self-improvement. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu becomes not just a martial art, but a laboratory for understanding the connection between mind, body, and spirit. The episode also explores the benefits of Jiu-Jitsu for personal development. Marcelo explains how the pressure of training and competition teaches resilience, patience, and strategic thinking — skills that translate far beyond the mats. We also discuss why Jiu-Jitsu can be particularly valuable for children and young people, helping them develop confidence, discipline, and the ability to navigate conflict without aggression. If you're interested in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, martial arts philosophy, competition mindset, or personal growth through sport, this episode offers a fascinating perspective from one of the most experienced referees in the global BJJ community. In this solo episode, I would like to introduce the theme for January on The Transform Your Mind Podcast. I know we are almost at the end of the month, but I wanted to explain why I grouped these women together. Each of these interviews highlights the effects of childhood trauma in our adult lives.  And what's been so powerful about these conversations is how trauma shows up—not only in pain—but in pleasure, intimacy, and identity.Pamela Madsen: Pamela Madsen is a noted sex therapist specializing in somatic healing. She is renowned for creating safe spaces for women to explore their pleasure and reclaim their sexual identities through transformative retreats and therapeutic work.Andrea Lee: Andrea Lee is a courageous survivor of childhood trauma. Her journey through years of therapy and healing has empowered her to help others through volunteering at a rape crisis center, providing support and guidance to women facing similar experiences of abuse.Vanessa Bennett: Vanessa Bennett challenges traditional beliefs about motherhood. Her work focuses on dismantling the "motherhood myth," urging mothers to balance identity and personal joy without succumbing to generational sacrifices of self-worth.So, when we look at these three conversations together, a pattern emerges:How we learned to experience pleasureHow we learned to disconnect from our bodiesHow we learned to abandon ourselves for othersResources:Listen to Pamela Madsen's episode: Transform Your Mind Podcast YouTubeMore episodes and stories on Spotify: Transform Your Mind Podcast SpotifyTune into this episode for inspiring tales of transformation and healing from those who have reshaped their lives beyond childhood trauma. On today's Witness Wednesday, Dr. Greg Gifford joins Todd Friel at the University of North Georgia to field questions on faith, mental health, and therapy. Dr. Gifford brings his expertise in the field of Biblical Counseling to challenge students on their ideas about therapy and medication. Segment 1: • Todd and Greg confront the popular “Jesus and therapy” trend, urging students to consider the sufficiency of Christ alone. • Learn the critical difference between therapists who integrate worldly psychology and those who stand on Scripture. • Real hope comes when sin is called what it is: something Christ can actually set you free from. Segment 2: • Greg is asked why he didn't address abuse and Trauma. Abuse and deep wounds deserve more than 20-minute treatments; Scripture speaks to them with care and power. • Biblical counseling doesn't ignore pain—it applies truth to the heart and brings real healing. • Discover why people often say “I've read this verse 100 times, but now it hits different.” Segment 3: • A student asks, “Has Christ ever restored your hope personally?” • Todd shares his childhood anxiety and how Jesus completely redefined his fears. • Don't underestimate the power of a local church and Scripture applied directly to your hardest questions. Segment 4: • One student wrestles with surrendering fear—and Todd & Greg dig deep. • Multiple students ask about anxiety, humility, and Bible reading. • Anxiety fades when truth replaces lies, which happens when we fill our mind with God's word and are transformed. Don't just check boxes; use Scripture to engage your heart and fight your sin. ___ Thanks for listening! Wretched Radio would not be possible without the financial support of our Gospel Partners. This episode of Healthy Mind Healthy Life drops straight into the deep end of energetic wellness. We examine the unseen forces shaping mental health, physical symptoms and emotional patterns. Connie Smock, an internationally known psychic medium, intuitive and healer, breaks down how energy blocks form, how they influence overwhelm, anxiety and low vibration cycles, and how clearing them can shift your entire reality. This conversation is raw, practical and designed to help listeners understand the link between emotional patterns, spiritual debris and long term well-being. About the Guest  : Connie Smock is a globally recognized psychic medium, intuitive healer and spiritual teacher with 35+ years of experience. She is a certified hypnotherapist, past life regressionist, Reiki Master Teacher, Qigong instructor, life coach, black belt in karate and yoga instructor. Her work blends ancient wisdom with modern energetic techniques to help people clear emotional blocks, heal long standing patterns and reconnect with their higher guidance. Key Takeaways  : • Energy affects mental and emotional health more than most people realize and hidden energetic debris can amplify overwhelm and anxiety.• Many emotional patterns and triggers are rooted in energetic imprints carried from childhood, past relationships or even past lives.• Lower energies or unprocessed energetic fields can drain vitality and create mood swings that feel personal but are not.• Empaths and highly sensitive individuals absorb energy faster and need consistent energetic hygiene to stay balanced.• Practices like Reiki, Qigong and deep breathwork help the body release stored emotional toxins and rebuild inner stability.• Hypnotherapy and past life regression can reveal unresolved soul contracts that shape today's relationships and repetitive patterns.• Healing is not a one time event. It is cyclical like raking leaves in the wind and requires conscious recalibration.• Trust and surrender accelerate emotional recovery and help break fear based loops that keep people stuck.• Spiritual, emotional and physical bodies are interconnected. Clearing one layer shifts all the others.• Connie's core teaching is that nothing is personal and everything is a soul level classroom for growth. Welcome to Transform Your Mind with Coach Myrna Young, where we explore the thoughts and emotions that shape our lives.Today's episode is called “Anger's Seven Cousins: Healing the Hidden Forms of Anger.”You see, anger doesn't always show up as shouting or rage. Sometimes it hides behind politeness, sarcasm, or that quiet “I'm fine” when we're really not. These subtle forms of anger can quietly destroy our peace, our health, and our relationships if we don't recognize them.In this episode, we'll uncover the seven hidden cousins of anger—the subtle resentments that sneak into our daily lives—and I'll share how to recognize and release them so you can live from a place of calm and clarity.Anger's Seven CousinsResentment – The Silent StewYou keep smiling and saying yes, but inside, you're boiling. Resentment forms when you don't speak your truth.Healing Tip: Speak up early and set boundaries.Irritation – The Short FuseSmall things trigger big reactions. It's usually not about what's happening—it's about something deeper. Healing Tip: Pause and ask, “What's this really about?”Frustration – The Blocked PathYou're trying so hard, but nothing's working. Frustration is anger mixed with helplessness.Healing Tip: Reframe obstacles as opportunities for growth.Envy – The Angry ComparisonYou admire others but feel bitter that you're not where they are. Healing Tip: Celebrate others' success as proof that your dreams are possible too.Bitterness – The Hardened HeartOld wounds that never healed turn into bitterness.Healing Tip: Forgiveness is freedom—let go for your peace, not theirs.Passive-Aggression – The Masked AttackYou hide anger under politeness, sarcasm, or avoidance.Healing Tip: Be direct. Honest “no's” are healthier than resentful “yes's.”Self-Righteousness – The Angry VirtueThis one feels good because you think you're right. But moral superiority only feeds division. Healing Tip: Choose understanding over judgment. Compassion disarms anger. To advertise on our podcast, visit https://advertising.libsyn.com/TransformyourMindor email kriti@youngandprofiting.com See this video on The Transform Your Mind YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/@MyhelpsUs/videosTo see a transcripts of this audio as well as links to all the advertisers on the show page https://myhelps.us/Follow Transform Your Mind on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/myrnamyoung/Follow Transform Your mind on Facebookhttps://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063738390977Please leave a rating and review on iTunes https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/transform-your-mind/id1144973094 https://podcast.feedspot.com/personal_development_podcasts/
