The way the world functions works through women. Our world moves through seasons. Similarly, women go through different phases in their monthly cycle that correlate with the seasons of nature. As women, when we understand the way our menstrual cycle works (even in perimenopause and menopause), we are able to better understand ourselves, especially our moods, our energy levels, and our natural tendencies during different times of the month.Malka Chana Amichai, a certified Postpartum Doula, is passionate about helping women connect to their femininity. Her mission is to educate and support women to be active participants in their own life experiences. She expanded her practice to become a Prenatal Yoga instructor, a Kallah teacher who gives premarital education to brides, and a sexual health mentor. He main objective is to empower women in their womanhood and to facilitate their reconnection with the divine feminine that flows through all of us.Below are the phases of our menstrual cycle, as they correspond to each season:Menstrual Phase--Winter--just like when it's cold in the winter, we cuddle up with cozy socks and a warm blanket, and tend to stay home, during the time we are menstruating, women go inward. They want to spend more time at home; they tend to want to be by themselves; they do a lot of inner work and self-care during this time of the month.Follicular Phase--Spring--just like in the spring when the flowers start blooming, and the weather starts getting warner, women start coming out of their shell more. They tend to want to be around people a bit more than during the menstrual phase. They experience more creativity, inspiration and hope.Ovulation Phase--Summer--just like in the summer when it's hot and everything is in full bloom, women are more aroused, they want to be closer with their partner, they want to be around their friends and be much more social and outgoing. This is the phase of the month when they feel most connected to others.Post Ovulation Phase--Fall--just like the fall is the transition between summer and winter, the post period phase is an in between time for women; a type of "nowhere zone," where we feel that we're neither here nor there. This is the time when we experience higher than usual anxiety. If you are in the perimenopause or menopause phase of your life, you can still connect to your cycle through the phases of the moon. Rosh Chodesh is a women's holiday, and it's marked by the New Moon.New Moon--correlates with the menstruation phase (winter)Waxing Moon--correlates with the follicular phase (spring)Full Moon--correlates with the ovulation phase (summer)Waning Moon--correlates with the post ovulation phase (fall)Malka Chana also talks about how mothers can introduce the concept of menstruation and periods to her preteen or teenage daughter, and how mothers can transmit to them the beauty of being a woman. For more information on Malka Chana, visit her website: https://www.bohemianbalabusta.com/about-me/Vera Kessler (host of America's Top Rebbetzins) is a certified life coach. This shiur was given by Yarchei Kallah Bnei Torah in 2025, on the topic of עביד איניש דינא לפשיה, taking the law into your own hands. It covers the questions of when can you tow someone who is blocking your driveway, and when can you take action if someone is causing you damage by leaving things on or around your property.
Episode #187: The Kallah That Almost Married Choson That She Wasn't Permitted To
Hi everyone! Welcome back to another episode of The Chai on Life Podcast. I'm Alex Segal, and today we have Mrs. Devorah Kigel on the podcast! I am so excited to speak with Devorah, it really feels like a long time coming. I have known Devorah for maybe close to 11 or 12 years now and she definitely made a big impact on my own religious journey as she has for countless others speaking about her experience in the dating world and on other Jewish-related topics like her journey to becoming observant and dressing modestly. Now, Devorah is a successful dating and marriage coach (she has helped well over 300 women marry their bashert) a sought-after Kallah teacher, and continues to be a popular speaker. She holds her B.A. from Hamilton College, where she majored in French and minored in women's studies, and her M.A. in French from Middlebury College. Mrs. Kigel spent more than two years living in Paris and wrote her masters thesis on anti-Semitism in France. Devorah just released her brand new book this fall called “Marry a Mensch: Timeless Jewish Wisdom for Today's Single Woman” and in this conversation we are going to speak about all of that and more. She has been featured in Newsweek, The Jerusalem Post, Meaningful Minute, Torah Anytime and on aish.com.In the episode, we get into her journey to becoming a dating coach, have her answer real listener dating questions like what happens when you can't find someone on your exact religious level, how to know you're ready or not ready to start dating, trusting your gut, why you should never settle and more.We also speak about marriage in the latter half of the episode — the one change that has made the biggest difference in her marriage, how to create better communication, how the 5 love languages can help all of us, and more there too.Plus, at the end we get into a really interesting conversation about working versus stay at home with your kids. Devorah has spoken openly about this in the past including a time early on when their kids were young and they were going through immense financial struggle and it was really insightful to get into a deeper discussion about her choice to stay home and how it's impacted her life now. Just a disclaimer: This in no way is telling anyone what to do or how to live their life, that is a personal choice and I really believe something that is so unique to each individual situation and there is a whole spectrum in between but as a mom myself and as someone who knows many other mothers who struggle with the balance of managing so many things, it's always an interesting topic to delve into further. For more on Devorah and to get in touch with her, visit www.devorahkigel.com or on Instagram @devorahkigel.

Understanding the Lifecycle through Torah Judaism
Intimate Judaism: A Jewish Approach to Intimacy, Sexuality, and Relationships
In many Orthodox communities, premarital sex education taught by Kallah teachers is limited to ensuring wedding night “success” and encouraging strict observance of Nidah laws in order to "guarantee" sexual satisfaction. Join Rabbi Scott Kahn and Talli Rosenbaum as they interview two Kallah instructors, Dr. Hadassah Fromson and Dr. Yosefa Wruble, who discuss how they integrate discussions about sexual pleasure and satisfaction together with promoting commitment to traditional observance. Sharing their research and anecdotal experiences, they demonstrate that religion and sex positivity are not contradictory, but are in fact complementary.

An experienced, board-certified OB/GYN, Dr. Elissa Hellman, has been in practice for over ten years in Milwaukee, WI. She received her medical degree from NYU and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at North Shore Hospital in Manhasset. She is also the physician at The Confident Kallah, a telemedicine gynecology practice focused on the needs of Jewish women who observe Taharat Ha'Mishpacha. Throughout her years as a clinician, she noticed a gap in women's health awareness and education. This developed into a special interest in patient education and being a resource for the Jewish community in relation to body awareness and women's preventative health, starting from a young age. _______________________________________________________ After The Chuppah: The Confident Kallah Part 2 with Dr. Elissa Hellman https://spotifyanchor-web.app.link/e/seTYDqfanxb The Confident Kallah: Fostering Healthy Sexuality in Our Daughters with Dr. Elissa Hellman https://anchor.fm/jowma/episodes/The-Confident-Kallah-Fostering-Healthy-Sexuality-in-Our-Daughters-with-Dr--Elissa-Hellman-el5mk3 _______________________________________________________ Become a JOWMA Member! www.jowma.org Follow us on Instagram! www.instagram.com/JOWMA_org Follow us on Twitter! www.twitter.com/JOWMA_med Follow us on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/JOWMAorg/ Stay up-to-date with JOWMA news! Joel Kaplan and Shaya Levin are two extraordinary individuals living in New York. Their children were engaged to be married to one another when horrific tragedy struck. Five years ago, Yisroel Levin and his Kallah, Elisheva Kaplan, two incredibly inspiring and growing people, were killed in a horrible car accident on Chol Hamoed Pesach. The tragedy shook the Jewish people. At their funeral, Shaya, Yisroel's father, asked that in exchange for their pure souls, we together help suggest and facilitate 10,000 shidduchim in honor of Yisroel and Elisheva, and the initiative has since led to countless shidduchim. Joel and Shaya's pain, resilience, and insight and the legacy of Yisroel and Elisheva continue to inspire and uplift thousands worldwide. ____________________________________ ► Alpert & Associates Need Financial Planning and Life insurance?
