In Cristo possiamo avere calma, anche quando gli eventi della nostra vita sembrano impedirlo. Gesù ha promesso una pace diversa da quella del mondo  che nasce dal sapere che Dio ha già provveduto attraverso la croce e la resurrezione di Cristo. --- CLICCA SUL TITOLO PER ASCOLTARE IL MESSAGGIO Tempo di lettura: 10 minuti  Tempo di ascolto audio/visione video: 30 minuti Siamo sulla terza parte del nostro cammino verso le cose che possiamo fare a dispetto di tutto quello che ci circonda, delle limitazioni che il Covid ci ha imposto se siamo “in Cristo”. La meravigliosa verità sull'essere un cristiano  è che la trasformazione che avviene quando siamo in Cristo  non riguarda solo l'avere un posto in paradiso per l'eternità. Gesù cammina  con noi  per portare cambiamenti pratici nella vita,  per passare dal vecchio io al nuovo io,  per crescere e maturare e vivere davvero.  In Cristo puoi essere una persona diversa; una persona trasformata dallo Spirito. Questo è il motivo che Paolo ha in mente  quando scrive Filippesi 4.  Non si tratta di stabilire una nuova serie di comandi  che ti fanno sentire in colpa quando fallisci.  Si tratta di sapere che Cristo ci ama abbastanza  da volerci aiutare nel viaggio  mentre ci dirigiamo verso l'eternità. Le volte scorse abbiamo visto  che in Cristo possiamo avere gioia, perché la gioia non è legata al momento e agli eventi della vita, ma a chi sono in Cristo. Abbiamo poi visto che posso essere gentile,  mansueto, mite, ragionevole perché ho la certezza che Gesù tornerà  e che il suo giudizio sarà giusto, ma anche perché lui mi è vicino in ogni momento della mia vita e mi chiama ad essere suo testimone nel mondo. Oggi parleremo della calma. Come definiresti la “calma”? Un mare senza onde si dice che è “calmo”. Un cavallo che pascola lo definiamo calmo. Un neonato che dorme è la figura della calma assoluta. Vedete? Ho richiamato tutte immagini che si associano ad una scarsità di movimento, anche se il movimento continua ad esserci, altrimenti non parleremmo di calma, ma di morte. Un mare calmo ha ancora le onde, un cavallo al pascolo si muove lungo il prato, e un bambino che dorme ha respiro, battito cardiaco, sogni. La calma presuppone movimento. La parola calma deriva dal greco καῦμα – kaluma  e significa «calore ardente del sole». In latino caluma significa semplicemente “caldo”. Così come il caldo non dipende da noi, allo stesso modo la calma non può nascere in noi. C'è qualcosa che agisce al di fuori di noi, ma che si muove in noi  e  provoca un cambiamento. Non è una forza interiore, ma una forza che arriva  da qualcosa di immensamente più grande di me e di te, e che provoca movimento in noi. Leggiamo assieme Filippesi 4:6.7: “Non angustiatevi di nulla, ma in ogni cosa fate conoscere le vostre richieste a Dio in preghiere e suppliche, accompagnate da ringraziamenti. E la pace di Dio, che supera ogni intelligenza, custodirà i vostri cuori e i vostri pensieri in Cristo Gesù.” (Filippesi 4:6-7) I due verbi che ho evidenziato  in greco sono in un tempo che si chiama "presente imperativo attivo".  In italiano si traduce con il tempo “imperativo": è un comando, come “Taci”! “Muoviti”, “Ascolta!” Ma il presente imperativo attivo è di più di un comando; vale per adesso, ma vale anche in futuro. Non solo “Taci!” adesso, ma “Taci, e continua a tacere!” “Non solo “Muoviti!”,  ma “Muoviti, e continua a muoverti!” Non solo “Ascolta!”,  ma “Ascolta, e continua ad ascoltare!” Il versetto di Paolo, allora, suonerebbe così: “Non angustiatevi e continuate a non angustiarvi di nulla... ma fate conoscere e continuate a far conoscere le vostre richieste a Dio” (Filippesi 4:6 parafrasi) Vi ricordate l'origine della parola “calma”, vero? Kaluma, il “calore ardente del sole”, qualcosa che non viene da dentro di noi, ma da fuori; la potenza che crea la calma non è nostra ma risiede altrove, ed è presso Dio. C'è una chiave per “attivare” questa potenza,  e Paolo ce la illustra nel versetto attraverso cinque parole chiave: 1. “in preghiere” προσευχή proseuchē = preghiera “Gesù rispose loro: «Io vi dico in verità: se aveste fede e non dubitaste, non soltanto fareste quello che è stato fatto al fico; ma se anche diceste a questo monte: “Togliti di là e gettati nel mare”, sarebbe fatto.Tutte le cose che domanderete in preghiera, se avete fede, le otterrete». (Matteo 21:21-22) Il tipo di preghiera di cui parla Paolo è la stessa che chiede Gesù: la preghiera “proseuché”,  dove tu preghi al di là delle cose fattibili, dove preghi l'impossibile. “E, dopo aver pregato, si alzò, andò dai discepoli e li trovò addormentati per la tristezza...” (Luca 22:45) E' la preghiera del Getsemani, quella dove si sa che tutto è in mano a Dio. Quante volte debbo pregare questo tipo di preghiera? Quando mio figlio è in ospedale ammalato? Quando il mio lavoro svanisce? In gergo tecnico questo tipo di preghiere “in occasioni speciali” sono chiamate “fox hole prayers”, “preghiere da tana della volpe”. In guerra la tana della volpe  era la trincea appena prima della linea nemica.  Era il luogo più pericoloso: le preghiere che si facevano lì  potevano essere le ultime fatte.  Paolo invece dice: “Se vuoi calma, non devi pregare solo quando sei nella prima trincea, ma quando la trincea è lontana, quando la vita non ha apparenti preoccupazioni. Prega nella trincea,  ma continua a pregare anche quando sei lontano da essa se vuoi avere calma nella tua vita.” Vuoi il “calore ardente del sole”,  la potenza che Dio assicura per infondere calma nella tua vita? Prega per tutto,  anche per le cose piccole, quelle di tutti i giorni. “Fate conoscere e continuate a far conoscere le vostre richieste a Dio”. Prega, e continua, non fermarti mai di pregare. 2. “ e suppliche,” δέησις deēsis =  supplica “Fratelli, io desidero con tutto il cuore e domando a Dio che gli Ebrei siano salvati.” (Romani 10:1) Quel “domando” di Paolo  è la stessa parola di Filippesi: è una “supplica”, una richiesta che si fa dal basso verso qualcuno che è enormemente al di sopra di noi. Quando Paolo stava scrivendo ai Romani della sua supplica affinché gli Ebrei fossero salvati,  centinaia di migliaia stavano arrivando alla fede e al pentimento.  Ma non abbastanza di origine ebraica.  Paolo si rivolge a Dio supplicandolo per questa situazione. Quante volte pensate Paolo abbia fatto questa supplica a Dio? Una volta (quella che vediamo qui in Romani)?  ma fate conoscere e continuate a far conoscere le vostre richieste a Dio” “Supplica  e continua a supplicare”. E' qualcosa che accompagnerà Paolo per tutta la tua esistenza; ed è questo quello che ti chiede per poter ottenere il “calore ardente del sole” la potenza di Dio che scacci l'ansia e ti porti la calma nella tua vita. Continuare a domandare, a supplicare, a chiedere che Dio agisca, senza mai stancarsi. Sapete quale è il mio  problema (uno dei molti miei)? E' che io metto tutta la mia energia nell'alimentare l'ansia, piuttosto che alimentare la supplica a Dio. Sono da solo, vero? 3. “accompagnate da ringraziamenti” εὐχαριστία eucharistia – ringraziamento “Come dunque avete ricevuto Cristo Gesù, il Signore, così camminate in lui; radicati ed edificati in lui, saldi nella fede, come vi è stata insegnata, e abbondando nel ringraziamento.” (Colossesi 2:6-7) Per cosa sta chiedendo di ringraziare Paolo? Per i favori che Dio ci provvederà? Certo che no: quelli saranno la “ciliegina sulla torta”. Il ringraziamento non è in base a ciò che Dio farà ma in base a quello che ha già fatto. Ci saranno situazioni nella vita che ci provocheranno ansia, ma c'è anche una certezza: Cristo à venuto, per chi lo ha ricevuto c'è un cammino da fare assieme a lui, un terreno dove mettere radici (radicati),  su cui costruire (edificati) e tramite cui essere solidi (saldi) “...perché il salario del peccato è la morte, ma il dono di Dio è la vita eterna in Cristo Gesù, nostro Signore. (Rom 6:23) E' per tutto questo che dobbiamo ringraziare. Il peccato è sconfitto. La morte è sconfitta.  L'ansia che viene dal peccato, dalla malattia e dalla morte . alla fine è insignificante. E dobbiamo ringraziare e continuare a ringraziare. Allora, se vogliamo avere quelle potenza che scaccia l'ansia,  non possiamo fare a meno di preghiera,  supplica e ringraziamento;  “Metteteli insieme quando siete ansiosi  e imparerete a pregare in modo da poter smettere di essere ansiosi.”  ci dice Paolo.  “Ma non fatelo una volta e via, continuate a farlo in continuo. Deve diventare parte della vostra routine quotidiana, deve entrare nel tuo DNA di credente.". Ci saranno ancora problemi,  ci saranno ancora lutti, ma la potenza   quel “calore ardente” di Dio, arriverà a darci pace. 4. “E la pace di Dio”  ἰρήνη eirēnē = pace La parola “pace” in greco è ἰρήνη eirēnē . Esiste una bibbia molto antica, la Septuaginta, che fu la versione con cui molti “gentili” (pagani) lessero l'Antico Testamento. Era una traduzione in greco dei vari libri da Genesi a Malachia. Perché vi parlo della Septuaginta? Perché la parola “ἰρήνη eirēnē “pace” è quella con cui è stata tradotta la parola ebraica “shalom” Nella cultura ebraica shalom non è solo un saluto, (“Shalom”, “Pace” lo diciamo anche noi evangelici talvolta), è un concetto filosofico profondo:  è la pace che viene nonostante le circostanze che accadono, è indipendente da quello che stai vivendo. Puoi avere “shalom” quando tuo figlio è morto quando hai il tumore, quando hai perso il lavoro. E' una pace spirituale.  Una pace in cui niente può distruggere la mia fede.  Una pace in cui la mia mente è al sicuro e ho una pienezza di vita. E' una pace... “che supera ogni intelligenza” ὑπερέχω hyperechō = supera Ma ὑπερέχω hyperechō non significa solo “supera”; lo vediamo in Romani 13: “Ogni persona stia sottomessa (ὑπερέχω hyperechō) alle autorità superiori”.  (Romani 13:1) Paolo sta dicendo che devi lasciare che la pace Dio sottometta la tua intelligenza, la tua comprensione del mondo. Ti chiede di non fidarti di ciò che con la tua mente pensi, ma di affidarti alla pace “shalom” di Dio. Paolo affermerà ai Corinzi: “In realtà, sebbene viviamo nella carne, non combattiamo secondo la carne; infatti le armi della nostra guerra non sono carnali, ma hanno da Dio il potere di distruggere le fortezze, poiché demoliamo i ragionamenti e tutto ciò che si eleva orgogliosamente contro la conoscenza di Dio, facendo prigioniero ogni pensiero fino a renderlo ubbidiente a Cristo...” (2 Corinzi 10:3-5) Il senso di insicurezza, la mancanza di speranza,  gli strumenti di Satana per farci dubitare della cura di Dio per noi, la pace “shalom” li supera tutti... ma siamo noi che dobbiamo sottomettere i nostri pensieri, farli prigionieri, piegarli, fino a renderli obbedienti a Cristo. I problemi nella tua vita rimarranno, ma la pace di Dio alla fine supererà tutte queste sfide di ansia. 5. “custodirà i vostri cuori e i vostri pensieri in Cristo Gesù.” φρουρέω phroureō = custodirà φρουρέω phroureō è il verbo che indicava  il turno di guardia di una sentinella armata. La potenza di Dio non solo supererà l'ansia, ma monterà di guardia attorno al tuo cuore (che, vi ricordo, per gli ebrei era la sede del ragionamento) e ai tuoi pensieri. In Cristo puoi essere calmo, essere calma puoi avere pace...  anche quando diventiamo ansiosi. Perché voi sapete … e io so … e ogni cristiano con un po' di sale in zucca sa …  che ci saranno momenti in cui l'ansia avrà la meglio su di noi.  Nonostante le nostre preghiere.  Nonostante il nostro pensiero.  Nonostante le nostre azioni.  Eppure, anche allora, possiamo avere pace. Quando questo accade, non siate sorpresi, non datevi colpa, non abbiate timore di non essere buoni credenti; Gesù ci conosce, sa come siamo dentro, è stato umano anche lui. E' per questo che ha detto: “Vi lascio pace; vi do la mia pace. Io non vi do come il mondo dà. Il vostro cuore non sia turbato e non si sgomenti.” (Giovanni 14:27) Gesù ha promesso una pace diversa da quella del mondo. Non l'assenza di problemi, ma la calma che nasce dal sapere che Dio  ha già provveduto al problema più grande; quello di poterlo riabbracciare come Padre, attraverso la croce e la resurrezione di Cristo. Se sono in Cristo posso avere calma, se prego e continuo a pregare se domando a Dio e continuo a domandare se ringrazio e continuo a ringraziare per ciò che Gesù ha già fatto. E' allora che “shalom”, la pace di Dio che tutto supera e sottomette arriverà a proteggere il mio cuore e i miei pensieri. Serve solo che io faccia prigionieri i miei pensieri, e li sottometta a Cristo.
