A visit from my cousin Gayle. We enjoyed a great pool day on Sunday and dinner in our town Monday night followed by a walk along the harbor. Vampirism is time travel. It's also tragedy and freedom and Queerness, and sex and death. We talk about all of these thing with V.E. Schwab, when we sink our teeth into her new epic novel, Bury our Bones in the Midnight Soil. It's the story of three women who lead complicated, violent, sensual lives across the centuries. The interconnect. They love. They kill. It wasn't the book I was expecting…and I loved it. I think you'll love this conversation too. Enjoy! Host Jason Blitman welcomes bestselling author Victoria "V.E." Schwab for a conversation about her remarkable milestone—her 25th book, Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil. They discuss the profound power of names, exploring how identity shapes both fantasy storytelling and LGBTQIA+ narratives, the impact of representation in literature, and the moment that nearly drove Schwab to walk away from writing altogether. Later, Melissa Febos joins Jason as our Guest Gay Reader, calling in from her treadmill desk, to share what she's been reading as well as more about her new memoir, The Dry Season. Victoria "V.E." Schwab is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of more than twenty books, including the acclaimed Shades universe, the Villains series, the City of Ghosts series, Gallant, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and The Fragile Threads of Power. Join Elton as he stumbles through the lives of two women; one real, one fake. This time around Elton's irreverence locks onto "The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue", a book all about cutting deals with the devil, living forever, and learning that, when cutting a deal with Satan, it's all about the details. On his hilarious journey, Elton discovers the nature of how others affect your identity, and what a Faustian bargain is all about. Come along,...and stop all that "smirkstibating.""France, 1714: in a moment of desperation, a young woman makes a Faustian bargain to live forever―and is cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets. Thus begins the extraordinary life of Addie LaRue, and a dazzling adventure that will play out across centuries and continents, across history and art, as a young woman learns how far she will go to leave her mark on the world. But everything changes when, after nearly 300 years, Addie stumbles across a young man in a hidden bookstore and he remembers her name."GET THE BOOK: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E SchwabElton Reads A Book A Week PatreonTips!SOCIAL MEDIA! Business, Life, and a Brand-New Workshop: Why This Time Will Be Different It's been a while since we caught up, and I have a lot to share—both in business and life. But before we dive in, I have an exciting announcement: My brand-new free workshop, Create & Sell Your Group Coaching Program (and Why This Time Will Be Different), is happening on Monday, April 1st at 10 AM Eastern. If you've ever struggled to make group coaching work, this workshop will change the game for you. Life Lately: A Much-Needed Reset December was a whirlwind—I packed in three trips, including a surprise getaway to the Dominican Republic for my 40th birthday (thanks to my husband!). That trip reminded me of the importance of truly unplugging, something we rarely allow ourselves as business owners. No checking the time, no endless notifications—just relaxation. Coming back from that, January and February were all about regrouping. Over the years, I've noticed that my clients tend to slow down during these months too. Instead of forcing things, I leaned into it—something I didn't always do in the past. Now, I embrace this season as a time for reflection and preparing for the momentum that always kicks in by spring. Another personal update? I've been on a serious reading streak—40+ books since the start of the year. Fiction, historical fiction, magical realism—you name it. Reading helps me become a better coach, marketer, and overall communicator. If you're looking for recommendations, here are my top three reads: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab I'll Have What She's Having by Chelsea Handler I Hope This Finds You Well by Natalie Sue Business Updates: A Fresh Start on Instagram One change I'm really excited about is my new business Instagram account: @allisonthecoach. I wanted a clearer space for my coaching content while keeping my personal life, well, personal. If you're interested in practical tips, insights, and behind-the-scenes of my coaching business, come follow along! A Free Workshop to Finally Make Group Coaching Work for You I know many coaches struggle to make group coaching feel as powerful and profitable as it should be. That's exactly why I created Create & Sell Your Group Coaching Program (and Why This Time Will Be Different). In this 60-minute free workshop, we're tackling: How to integrate a group model into your business in a way that actually works—whether it's your main offer or a stepping stone to something else. The biggest mistakes that make group coaching feel unmanageable (and how to fix them). How to design a group program that delivers 10X the results for your clients—yes, we're doing the math on this one! This is not a fluffy webinar where you leave with more questions than answers. You'll walk away with a clear roadmap for a group program that fits your business, your clients, and your lifestyle. If you want in (or just want access to the replay), grab your spot now. I can't wait to see you there!

As you go in search of the spookiest haunted houses and mazes this fall season, we caution you to be ware of one in specific. Should The No End House be in your area… you should NOT go in. This Urban legend/Creepy Pasta was originally uploaded on June 30, 2011 and is credited to Brian Russell . Is $500 dollars worth a life of endless torture, unknowns and mind F**ks? We'd say not. But as the story goes, there's a house that appears in odd locations all over the world. When it appears or why it appears is not known and the only way to find it is stumbling upon it or being told by a friend. That's what happened to David. His college friend, Peter Terry sent him an ominous message on AIM, after being MIA for days. At first David thought Peter was back on drugs, as he'd battled with addiction for quite some time... but then, David decided to check the house out for himself. He should have trusted his instincts and never entered the benign looking house in the middle of the woods because the NINE ROOMS he endured would forever torture him and change the course of his life there on. The No End House is believed to have nine rooms and the story goes that NO ONE has ever completed all nine rooms... if you do, you receive a reward of a measly $500. This episode details Davids experience as he took on each room and the horrors that each room contained. Would you try to find the No End House? Watch the Video Version on YouTube. In addition to this haunted house of horrors, Corinne recounts her experience of the April 9th, 2024 Total Solar Eclipse.
