There's a principle that when you appreciate the good qualities in others, then they become part of you. But if you become envious of others, or don't try to understand actually what they're doing and you disparage them, then you lose that advantage. So in the culture of respect, when you see somebody that's doing something, I think you said it too. When you see somebody doing something better than you're doing it, you should have the humility to appreciate them and be able to approach them, and that way you can receive knowledge. I f you see somebody who's sincerely engaged in practicing God consciousness and chanting the Lord's Names, if you take the urge of envy, and then say something to knock them down a peg or two so that you feel better about yourself. Then not only do you lose the opportunity to take on their good qualities and do what they're doing. But there's also kind of a universal way in which when somebody is sincerely trying to worship God and then you say something bad about them, to defame them, then the person that they are aspiring to appreciate doesn't appreciate you. In this case, it's, it's Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. And Krishna does take it personally when those who are His devotees are not spoken of kindly when they should be. So we should respect our own consciousness and realize that it's not to be wasted, because our consciousness is a part of the supreme consciousness. Therefore it's divine. We're units of the supreme like the sunshine is a unit of the sun. So we're the same as but different at the same time. So when we notice our own consciousness, we should be respectful of it and not waste it. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Pastors Don and Ethel Rucker both heard the voice of God when they first laid eyes on each other. Meeting in a church — she was there because church was always her "safe haven" and he was there because he wanted to "appease" his sister — the word reached them as a whisper in their hearts acknowledging they had met their life partner. It wasn't long afterward that they married. But even though they were destined for each other, they admit the first three years of marriage were lousy."I had no positive role models on how to submit to men, how to respect them, how to honor them. What was that?" Pastor Ethel said."I didn't have any tools. And neither did he because his father walked away as well."But the glue they shared was commitment and faith."The turning point for us was that we realized this is not God's will. He did not bring us together for us to be miserable," Don said. The two set out investigating what they needed to build a strong marriage, and with God's help, developed 10 principles that laid the foundation for their union."If you look at your marriage as a business, you have towork that thing. That means there's got to be policies ... to govern that relationship," Don said. "It can failproof your relationship, the principles that God gave us."Now, 41 years married, Ethel and Don teach these principles in couples' workshops. They have also written a book about their journey, From Misery to Marital Bliss. That's not all they achieved. Through a program called "Reach One, Teach One, and Grow One," they are building on God's messages of transformation. In 2014, they founded the Christian Development Center in Montclair, California, and now feed and clothe 600 families monthly. They conductparenting and other educational classes and collaborate with local businesses to serve the greater San Bernadino County. They've even started down the path of investment to build affordable housing that can serve neighbors based ontheir income levels, rather than market value."(God) said, 'You will always have the poor. You will not always have me.' So, from Ethel and our perspective, what we're doing in the community is really doing what He would be doing if He was here," Don said.I met Ethel and Don through Kyle Wilson's Inner Circle group, and I am struck by their ministry and their amazing accomplishments. I do believe they are transforming behaviors and outcomes in the lives of many, helping to build the kingdom of God. You can learn more about them on their website, Facebook and Instagram. Titus 2:1-6 will talk about the important role each of us has in the church to teach one another the truths of God's Word and model how to live those truths out. Whether we call it discipleship, teaching, or mentoring, we are called to help each other grow in our relationship with the Lord. As you prepare for the message, please read the passage and ask yourself, "Who taught me how to be a Christian?" "How do I teach other believers to live for the Lord?"

You see, we have a faulty view of what it means to teach our “one another's.” We make it into something it doesn't have to be, and I believe those verses that we started with really, truly do apply to all of us. We are all responsible to teach our “one another's.” So, I want to reset us to an appropriate perspective of what it means to teach. I want to break down what we think it is – the lies we've bought into – and reset what teaching truly is.

Each One Teach One: Parental Involvement and Family Engagement in Jamaica's Education System (University of the West Indies Press, 2022) is a collection of research studies and essays across multiple educational fields: leadership, psychology, special education, early childhood, literacy studies, mathematics and teacher education. The contributors to this collection provide empirical evidence on the state of parental involvement and family engagement in Jamaica. A team approach has been used in completing the various chapters in which graduate researchers collaborated with lecturers in their areas of specialization. The different voices and data from the participants along with relevant literature shape the dialogue on the importance of home and school collaboration in students' overall outcomes. Each One Teach One provides critical onto-epistemological frameworks grounded within the Jamaican context to examine the scope, prevalence, and effects of parental involvement and family engagement in schooling. The findings, implications and recommendations can guide policymakers in the formulation of strategies compatible with the needs of the schools, students and families and provide indispensable data on how to effectively work together to optimize students' success. Saran Stewart is Associate Professor of Higher Education and Student Affairs and Director of Global Education, Neag School of Education, University of Connecticut, Storrs, Connecticut. This episode of My Climate Journey features three guests: Lissie Garvin, Ayakha Melithafa, and Dysmus Kisilu, and we are diving into youth empowerment around climate. The IPCCs AR6 synthesis report from earlier this year includes a heartbreaking graphic that shows the extent to which current and future generations will experience a hotter and different world. It should come as no surprise that younger generations today will face a world that changes more dramatically than any generation has previously experienced. And yet, according to Lissie, less than 1% of all money going into climate change is going to youth movements.Lissie Garvin serves as the Foundation and Fellowship Program Director at 776, an early-stage venture fund founded by Alexis Ohanian, co-founder and former CEO of Reddit. The 776 Fellowship, which Lissie manages, awards $100,000 grants to exceptional individuals under 23 working on innovative climate change solutions.Ayakha Melithafa, a 21-year-old Pan-African climate justice activist, has represented youth voices from the Global South on prominent global platforms, including the World Economic Forum and COP26. She holds the distinction of being the youngest commissioner on the South African Presidential Climate Commission.Dysmus Kisilu, 24, is the founder of Solar Freeze, a company specializing in solar-powered cold storage units for smallholder farmers in Kenya, significantly boosting agricultural productivity. He also founded "Each One, Teach One," an initiative within Solar Freeze that mentors young agricultural leaders in Africa in renewable energy solutions, benefiting over 100 young people.Ayakha and Dysmus are among the first 20 recipients of 776 Fellowships. Together with Lissie, we explore the program's purpose, operations, and its impact. We also hear from Ayakha and Dysmus about their stories and the work they're doing to affect change. In this episode, we cover: [08:36]: Overview of the 776 Fellowship[10:42]: Youth activism's big impact [15:00]: How 776 funding allowed Ayakha to maintain her authentic voice[17:52]: How speaking up led Ayakha to the South African Presidential Climate Commission [22:10]: Ayakha's personal experiences during the "Day Zero" water crisis in 2017 that ignited her climate activism[29:07]: Her reflections on becoming an activist [33:38]: Her vision for South Africa to be a global leader in the energy transition[37:33]: Dysmus' experience with Ag Tech at UC Davis and origins of Solar Freeze[40:01]: Recent historic drought in Kenya[41:18]: Overview of Solar Freeze's solution and services[45:09]: The company's rapid growth and work with Kenyan farmers [47:35]: Dysmus' Each One, Teach One program[50:21]: How Dysmus and Ayakha learned about the 776 Fellowship[52:01]: Lissie's reflections on selecting the first 776 cohort[54:18]: Ayakha's experiences in the program and highlights from other 776 fellows[59:50]: Ayakha's advice for other young people in the climate space  [01:03:06]: How people in the Global North can support youth in Africa working at the forefront of the climate crisisGet connected: Ayakha Melithafa XDysmus Kisilu X / LinkedInLissie Garvin X / LinkedInCody Simms X / LinkedInMCJ Podcast / Collective*You can also reach us via email at info@mcjcollective.com, where we encourage you to share your feedback on episodes and suggestions for future topics or guests.Episode recorded on Aug 7, 2023 (Published on Sep 18, 2023)

Dropping tonight @6pm. I had the pleasure of interviewing an unsung hero. Mr. Jeffrey Edwards, originally from Chicago. Jeffrey shares his story of when moving to Gary he instantly noticed great promise however, he also noticed the struggle such as abandoned houses and unkept lawns although his background is in IT he still felt a pull to do something. He began gathering young men and instilling in them on profitable business but his purpose! We also discussed upcoming events such as a car wash on 9/16/23. men, women and adults are highly encouraged to volunteer and of course support. **If you know of any young men or ladies who may be seeking their purpose this is a great outlet.
