An iconic figure within the underground dance fraternity for over a decade, Rich Curtis makes his Meanwhile debut with an iconic track in the shape of “Square Root ('21 Salute)”. Indeed, it was the Cid Inc. owned imprint that Curtis made his 2010 debut with “Square Root”. Now reprising the track with a 2022 makeover, the “('21 Salute)” is a rich and textured affair that retains all the melodic hallmarks of the original while updating the sound with beautifully woven new motifs and sparking arpeggio. Sounding bright and warm in the spring sun, Rich Curtis has breathed new life into his renowned track. Another artist with an impressive portfolio of music to his name and reputation to match, Alex O'Rion has found his work allied to a host A-list imprints including the likes of Replug, Sudbeat Music and Guy J's Lost & Found. A regular contributor to Meanwhile with 2021's “Echium” EP and remixes for GMJ & Matter's “Gauntlet”, The Dutch master returns to the label with a typically evocative offering. Making beautiful use of Curtis' original components they are complemented with a slew of additional production material that extends his remix with spine-tingling new melodies that blossom in the breakdown and second half. A hefty rhythmic backdrop and ticking percussive groove add further to the powerful new interpretation. Returning to remix duties on their ever-growing and increasingly popular label, GMJ & Matter once again feature on Meanwhile with a dazzling new reworking. Continuing an illustrious run of original and remix production credits that have helped shape their label, the Australian duo have cemented their reputation as elite progenitors of the modern progressive house sound. Sprinkling magic dust all over “Square Root ('21 Salute)”, a trademark groove immediately provides dancefloor desirability while new melodic patterns wander in beautifully coruscating patterns across the 8-minute plus offering. Already starring in a lead role on the Meanwhile roster, Luka Sambe now makes his debut on sister label, Meanwhile Horizons with his 3-track “Spy Games” EP. An artist of notable repute and over 400 production credits to his name, Luka Sambe has come a long wany since a debut EP for Exclusive Recordings in 2013. Releases on Robert Babicz's Babiczstyle, Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat and Guy J's Lost & Found have cemented the Australian's status as one of underground dance's leading lights as he continues to build on an impressive year and an August release on All Day I Dream's “Summer Sampler 2021”. Opening the musical triptych, the title track is a glorious combination of chunky groove and rich melodic juxtaposition. Creating an evocative atmosphere with waves of pulsating pads and subtle motifs, stuttered synth lines filter in and out of sonic range with copious amounts of delay. Building with ease, a searing lead enters the fray at the mid-point to create another layer of intrigue in the aptly titled “Spy Games”. “Ruminate” continues the immaculate percussive groove as clipped hats create a head-shaking pattern atop deep kick. Progressing in delicate fashion, oriental inspired synth lines ripple forth in time-synced delay as a glassy freeform melody supplies a counterpoint phrase. Pads full of stereo width enter the fray at the mid-point providing further texture, before the track hits its mark once more in the third movement where rhythm and melody combine once more to devastating effect. The final track is a glorious electronica offering that revels in ambient percussive effects that create a mesmerising backdrop of real-world sounds transformed into rhythmic patterns. Simultaneously, plucked synth motifs combine with string phrases and myriad textured effects to create a warm and luscious offering that meanders gently across its 8-minute duration in unhurried and evocative fashion. Creating delightful musical tension through a variety of powerful melodic actors, Luka Sambe is making waves on the world stage with his “Spy Games”.

Бельгийский диджей и музыкант Benoit Franquet, больше известный электронному миру как Pole Folder записал отличный релиз Serengeti для популярного рекординга Proton, тем самым успешно напомнив о себе. Стиль Бэна узнаваем с первых аккордов, его музыка все так же вдумчива и мелодична. Уверен, данную работу вам захочется переслушать несколько раз, что еще раз подчеркнет мастерство Pole Folder как музыканта. В рубрике TRACK OF THE MONTH с большим удовольствием представляю музыканта из Белоруссии Дмитрия Молоша, который написал чумовой ремикс на трек Astral от артистов Trilucid и Phil Martyn. Здесь я лишь хочу сказать, что мы слышим его величество progressive house во всей красе, изданный кстати прогрессивным лейблом Proton. Я бы даже не заметил на полках онлайн магазинов релиз американского продюсера Higgins под названием Anytime Now, если бы в списке ремиксеров не увидел культовое на электронной сцене имя Medway. Да-да, этот тот самый Jesse Skeens aka Medway, к которому до сих пор выстраиваются толпы артистов для того, чтобы сделать толковый мастеринг их музыки. Уверен, по качеству звучания данной работы вы и сами это услышите, ведь есть еще порох в пороховницах у культового музыканта. В завершении программы уважаемый импринт Monaberry и красивый релиз Bonsai от немца Tantum, который я заказал в коллекцию на виниле. Заодно и заценим новый дизайн конвертов, который разработали владельцы вышеупомянутого импринта - дуэт Super Flu. В регулярной рубрике BONUS TRACK классика прогрессив-хаус музыки в лице голландского супердиджея Harry Lemon aka Lemon8 и его пластинки The Only Way, вышедшей в далеком 2000 году на лейбле Basic Energy. Хочу больше познакомить вас с биографией этого великолепного музыканта и диск-жокея. Harry Lemon (именно так зовут диджея и музыканта Lemon8) родился в маленьком городке близь Роттердама, в Голландии. Гарри с раннего детства интересовала музыка, а также психология, литература и видеоигры. Однако всерьез заняться он решил все же первым. В 16 лет он играл на еженедельном собрании в центре молодежи, где впоследствии подрабатывал уборщиком. Позже Гарри некоторое время проработал в музыкальном магазине бок о бок с еще не известным тогда диджеем Тиесто (DJ Tiesto). Первым псевдонимом ди-джея был DJ Funkateer, в связи с его чрезмерным, в то время, увлечением стилями фанк и хип-хоп. Гарри даже выпустил несколько треков в стиле диско-фанк. Уважаемый импринт The Soundgarden издал свежий Fantasy EP от российского продюсера Константина Куранакова aka Jiminy Hop, музыку которого издает сегодня множество авторитетных progressive house лейблов. Очень мелодичную и вдумчивую вещицу удалось подписать Нику Уоррену к себе на лейбл. Свежий и очень крутой релиз лейбла Dreamers под названием Natural Selection, автором коего является аргентинский кудесник звука Gaston Zalazar. В очередной раз восхищаюсь продакшном Dreamers и работой их звукоинженера, их материал всегда звучит великолепно. Еще один релиз вышеупомянутого Jiminy Hop с Fantasy ЕР. Хочу поставить true deep house music в эфире радиошоу MAXIMUM, а таковым будет трек Whispering of Universe. Не знаю, как Ник подписал этот трек на The Soundgarden, ведь это чистой воды Freerange Records звездного Джимпстера. В любой случае, трек потрясно звучит в духе, так сказать, дип-хауса начала и середины нулевых. А дальше джокер данного эпизода, великолепнейший, душераздирающий ремикс Federico Monachesi на трек Trees от Tuvaband. Не знаю, сколько раз вы прослушаете сие великолепие, но больше десятка так точно. Описывать такие произведения искусства очень тяжело, т.к. слова подбираются не сразу, а потому, слушаем и наслаждаемся прекрасной работой аргентинского музыкального гения. Mike Griego с треком Headspace берет курс на progressive и приглашает всех желающих на танцпол. Задушевная гармония, прекрасные пады и смены тональностей - в данном треке есть абсолютно все атрибуты, которые я ценю в прогрессиве. Релиз культового австралийского рекординга Balance Music. Израильтянин Sahar Z с треком Dreamless Sleep, который на 100% пропитан фирменным "сахарным" звучанием, которое узнается с первых нот. Как говорится, встречаем фирменный израильский progressive в эфире радиошоу MAXIMUM, дорогие друзья! Хваленный мною на протяжении всего 2019 года лейбл Sudbeat представляю релизом Hidden Rooms от музыканта Porra. Динамичный и живой саунд, что как нельзя кстати на финишной прямой MAXIMUM. Финальный отрезок отдаю талантливым ребятам из проекта blaktone и их наэлектризованному Crotalinae, вышедшим не так давно на испанском лейбле Sincopat. В хронике винила у меня сегодня прозвучит первая Drum & Bass пластинка из моей коллекции. С большим удовльствием представляю своего любимого вокалиста MC Fava и его коллаборацию с еще одним моим любимчиком, а именно шведским Drum & Bass музыкантом Seba и вокалисткой Emily Harkness. Издал данную пластинку очередной мой любимчик, британский лейбл Spearhead, владельцем которого является культовый артист BCee. Такую музыку просто невозможно не любить. 2018 Aug Vols de Nuit (CX178) Progressive House curated from 30,000 ft travelling to China. Your chillout companion or the appropriate soundscape to immerse yourself into a good book. Few vocals, deep progressive grooves and mostly current beats. Most of you know Antoine de St Exupery only through the quizzical “Petit Prince” (The Little Prince”). For us French, he was a VERY bad fighter and postal pilot but an amazing writer. Unsurprisingly, he died flying but left us with a short but amazing literary trail. One of his most famous books is “Vols De Nuit”, which, beyond the description of flying solo across the Atlantic and the Andes to deliver the mail in the 20’s and 30’s, depicts the introspection of a very lonely man facing his fate, knowing that the finality of his life could not be avoided. Amsterdam Dance Event has grown into one of electronic music's most important annual gatherings. A wide variety of artists, DJ's, and industry brands are showcased over the week-long event. The conference has also become the ideal testing ground for some of the fall season's biggest records. Chris Gavin is no stranger to Perspectives having appeared on the label's 2014 'WMC Sampler'. The French artist now returns following a steady stream of releases for Omid 16B's Alola Records and SexOnWax Recordings. 'Reincarnated' gets the sampler off to a great start with Chris' trademark deep and soulful grooves. A storyboard of wispy vocals and cross-cultural motifs quickly take the track to a mystical place. A dreamy break proves to be the ultimate centerpiece with timeless chord stabs carrying the mix home. 2016 has been a breakout year for Russian artist Clameres with new releases on Enhanced, Manual Music, and Lowbit. Now he brings his unique sound to the label with 'Above The Clouds'. Its exquisite violin and drifting, multi-dimensional textures are a delight for both the heart and mind. A bulbous groove keeps the stellar themes firmly on the dancefloor before a spaced out break and understated drop ultimately seals its brilliance. A standout production from a future star. The sampler's third selection welcomes D33P to the label following strong releases on Diynamic and Parquet Recordings. Since his debut in 2009, the Israeli artist has won over even the most heady electronic music connoisseurs. His well kept discography shows immaculate detail on each and every production and the instrumental mix of 'Sorry' is no different. Emotive but with a quirky flair, D33P has crafted a modern melodic bomb which plays out over nine magical minutes. Next up is Luka Sambe who makes his much anticipated label debut. The Aussie artist's discography is littered with memorable creations, none more notable than his contribution to Traum's famed 'Tour De Traum' series which earned support and play from Guy J. The remainder of 2016 looks bright with a forthcoming release scheduled on Lost & Found. '9th Crescent' goes down as one of his most poignant creations to date. Featuring guitarist Eisenzahn, the cross-cultural theme of the collection continues with ethnic wails, clustered strums, and worldly gates all melding together in a soulful audio collage. The fifth and final selection is provided by Hungarian producer Paul Kardos. All great artists have their own production hallmarks and Paul has certainly developed some of his own. On 'The Other' we get a taste of his melodic techno and contemporary progressive house blend. From its warm, fluid foundation and metallic leads, there's a lot to like. Its strongest suit perhaps is an emotive core built around smooth chord changes and modular melodies.
