Tell us what you think about this podcast!Bishop Rader Johnson dives into Revelation 17:1-7, warning against the influence of false spirits and religions in today's world. He emphasizes that we are in a time of the great falling away, not revival, and that the message of our age is repentance—without which no revival is possible. Bishop Johnson explains that God will judge the false church, using the Antichrist to carry out this judgment, as false religion, driven by the devil, deceives the world. He draws a parallel between false worship and spiritual fornication, showing how false churches are always available and accessible, leading people away from God's truth. Through continual repentance, believers can guard themselves against being rejected by God.For more lessons and sermons, follow our YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/@GBT

The idea of names as “keywords” has been associated with temples since very early times. In a temple context, the meaning of the term “keyword” can be taken quite literally: the use of the appropriate keyword or keywords by a qualified worshipper “unlocks” each one of a successive series of gates, thus providing access to […] The post Conference Talks: “Made Stronger Than Many Waters” first appeared on The Interpreter Foundation.

I've shared in the last two episodes about our family trip to Niagara Falls but have yet to speak of any encounters with the falls themselves. This week, we finally make it to the falls! After our initial amazement at the splendor…and speed…and sound of the many waters rushing over the falls, we began to see our limitations. A number of possibilities were impeded by various factors. The final morning as I awoke, I realized that we were missing out. By grumbling about the opportunities unavailable to us, we were failing to embrace the full experience of what we did have.I insisted that we make one more trek to the Falls. I invited my family to sit on the benches and close their eyes and to open themselves up to experience where we were. We simply sat in the majestic presence and listened and felt. This episode invites you to join us in this experience as we explore the many rushing waters in scripture and their ties (at least for me) to Niagara Falls. To hear the sound yourself click here. église AB Lausanne ; KJV Revelation 17 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. ...

We're moving on to the Altair IV Division here in season 8 as Mike, Aaron, and Tarn enter the ring to secure a spot in the playoffs. Round one is a fairy tale beginning for this episode, as we quiz our players about different actresses who've played "Cinderella" or some version thereof. Round two takes a turn towards violence as we look at pop culture characters who've popped up as playable characters in various fighting video games. All this, plus an electrifying lighting round to cap it all off. NOTES ⚠️ Inline notes below may be truncated due to podcast feed character limits. Full notes are always on the episode page. ❤️

“Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. Have you noticed how many times here in Revelation 1 that the “Voice of the Lord” is mentioned and in how many ways it is described? Our voice is a God given gift and ability to communicate our thoughts, emotions and feelings. Our voice tells others what is going on inside of us. Our voice, and the way it is used, can encourage, comfort, inform, and bring peace to another person. But our voice can also bring hurt, fear, suffering and even death to someone! (Proverbs 18:21) (See also Matthew 12:36-37) Remember God made us in His image and our voice is a part of that image! In the first century, when John is writing this last book of the Bible to the seven churches in Asia, they needed encouragement and comfort! They were undergoing tremendous persecution and tribulations by the Roman emperor, Diocletian. But at the same time they needed to repent and experience revival. At least five of the seven churches in Revelations 2 and 3 were told to repent. They needed to hear God speak!!!! Maybe that's what we need in our churches today! In Revelation 1:10, the Voice was “a loud voice as of a trumpet”. In verse 12, John “turned to see the Voice…”. In verse 15, “His voice was as the sound of many waters”. When we look back in the Old Testament we see a similar description of the Voice of God. In Daniel 10:6, “The sound of His words like the voice of a multitude.” Ezekiel the prophet in captivity in Babylon had a similar vision. In Ezekiel 43:2, “And behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east. His voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shone with His glory.” Please read the entire chapter of Psalm 29 and get a glimpse of power and majesty of the Voice of the Lord! If there were ever a time we need a Word from God, it is today. Because when we hear His awesome voice we will fall to our feet in repentance and genuine worship. And it is then that the LORD will give us strength to face the trials and tribulations in our life and world. And it is then that we will experience His peace, despite what might be going on around us, because we will get a glimpse of His glory, power and majesty! Today, a good place to begin to hear His Voice would be on our knees with an open Bible before us! God bless!

Multiple times through ou the Bible the voice of God is decribed as the sound of many waters. This is a coumpound sound where a multitude of small dropplets produces a loud noise. God sometimes speaks with a confusing sound but we can isolate His message from the sound of many waters. This is a public episode. Welcome to Trinity United Methodist Church in Duncanville, Texas. Today we had planed to start a new sermon series for the season of Lent. However we're postponing it to next week due to the power outages and broken pipes that the winter storm has dealt many of us. When the floodwaters of life life threaten to overwhelm us remember that God is with us. We are not being swept away. We are being baptized into new life. Join us now for our special sermon “Many Waters." Today's centering Psalm is Psalm 32 Scripture readings: Issiah chapter 43, starting with verse 1 Matthew chapter 3, starting with verse 13
Pastor Cecil Paul Mott preached a sermon this morning on Psalm 18-16-17 entitled, -Out of Many Waters.-

Today’s missionary story comes from the country of Guyana, which in a native Amerindian language means “Land of Many Waters.” It is not only a land of many waters but also home to many different cultures and nationalities. It is currently the place of service for Marvin and Meghna Hembrom. With this episode, we continue our Missionary Story series with Enid Harris, an assistant director at Institute of World Mission. Her guest, Marvin, shares with us how God has led him and his family in their missionary journey.

Drew Miller talks with Jeremy Casella and Ben Shive about the making of Jeremy's song, "Many Waters." They discuss the magic of mixing high language with common vernacular—in both music and lyrics—and God’s utter lack of pretense. They also geek out over those delicious chords in the second verse.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Dr. Armstrong leads us through a short devotion.
We’ve arrived at our most scandalous episode to date, and it all starts with the saucy paperback cover featuring a shirtless Sandy and Dennys under a soft-eyed angel. Yes, we’re diving into Many Waters, by Madeleine L’Engle, and we’re rushing to get out of dodge before the flood while also wondering whether the Oasis deserves all this apocalyptic punishment in the first place! Madeleine and Grace take uncharacteristically opposing stances on this one, and debate the merits of a YA retelling of a biblical doozy. Tiny mammoths abound and things get sandy. You’re welcome to try to approach a unicorn, but first we’ll need to know - do you have your driver’s license? Whether you’re a fan of the Deux Ex Manticore or not, we think there’s plenty to explore in this trippy journey back in time.NOTE - While still technically clean, this episode features discussion of sexual content present in the book and may not be suitable for young listeners.MUSIC - Pippin the Hunchback and Thatched Villagers by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) - Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 License http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/

Gimmel Tammuz – 25 years: What does it mean? How do we turn Gimmel Tammuz day into an ongoing change in our daily lives? Why isn’t calling the Rebbe Nosi Ha’Dor self-serving? How can we describe the Rebbe with Torah verses referring to G-d? Why is the note we write to the Rebbe at the Ohel called a pidyon nefesh? BiblioFiles: A CenterForLit Podcast about Great Books, Great Ideas, and the Great Conversation
Darkness in children's literature is a pretty hot topic these days, and it concerns us greatly as parents and educators who wish to shield our students from inappropriate influences and protect their childhood and innocence. The complication is, however, that darkness can encompass everything from the profane to the slightest conflict, and we think a story without a conflict is not a true story at all. Where is the balance? How much evil, fear, or violence is too much? We won't give any pat answers because we believe this is a decision each family must make on its own, but in this episode the CenterForLit team sits down to talk through the important issues that must influence our decisions concerning what books we give to our children. Referenced Works:–Macbeth by William Shakespeare–The Lorax by Dr. Seuss–Watership Down by Richard Adams–"The Dog of Pompeii" by Louis Untermeyer–Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak–Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain–Raymie Nightingale by Kate DiCamillo–Orbiting Jupiter by Gary Schmidt–"On Fairy Stories" by J.R.R. A special Shabbat message
KaliSara and RevKess are pleased to welcome Brian Henke back to PMPChannel to promote his new album, Raven King, and talk about his upcoming musical events. Brian Henke composes and performs his music like a painter putting images on canvas, a kind of sonic shaman, drawing his inspiration from the world around him. An avid hiker, he often brings his guitar along to create a spontaneous response to his outdoor settings. Mother Earth (Terra) as artist has given an immense living gallery from the humbling spectacle of her natural wonders to the simple, beauty of a treetop against a blue sky. Her majestic legacy and the magical feeling of awe and peace inspire the compositions of this award winning virtuosic fingerstyle/harp guitarist/ singer songwriter Brian’s seven instrumental solo guitar CD’s, “Many Waters”, “Love Song for Terra”,”Force of Nature”, “The Nature of Light”, “Tree of Life”, “A Child’s Garden” and “Seven Magic Spells” are a cornucopia of sonic vistas. He celebrates the seasons, a Grand Canyon sunset, the fireside magic of an American shaman, playful waterfalls, the color of the wind and the light of dreams to name a few. His first vocal album “Sun and the Moon and the Stars” was released in 2015 and his most recent vocal album “Raven King” has just been released in April 2017. The much anticipated “Green Album” compilation CD is now available too.
This episode was extra Smallville-ish, which is to say, pretty stupid but wildly entertaining. We talk about why this particular episode is so important to slash fandom. Also, Bess at one point claims that the Buffy episode featuring a giant praying mantis monster/sexy teacher makes "more sense" than this, and she's not even the one on cold medicine.
