Popular Irish low-cost airline Ryanair has extended its suspension of flight services to Tel Aviv until July 31, following the Houthi missile strike near Ben Gurion Airport at the beginning of May. More chaos is expected for Israelis over the busy summer holiday period. Mark Feldman, CEO of Ziontours, told KAN's Mark Weiss that his travel agency will now only book flights on Israeli carriers for passengers flying to and from Israel. Mark Feldman, CEO of Zion Tours, said that long-term decisions by foreign airlines on whether to cancel flying to Israel due to the Houthis missile will take time. He said that he continues to suggest people to purchase tickets on Israeli airlines. Speaking to reporter Arieh O’Sullivan, he said that Fly Dubai and Etihad and Ethiopians were still flying, but the European and American airlines were dropping flights since there are few tourists and they were relying on Israelis. Big Fat Five: A Podcast Financially Supported by Big Fat Snare Drum
What is up?! Welcome back to Drummers on Drumming — a podcast powered by Big Fat Snare Drum. My name is Ben Hilzinger, and today's episode is a little different. A few months ago, I was sent a book by drummer and educator Mark Feldman — founder of Bang! The Drum School. The book is called Drumming Decoded: The Secret Code to Quickly Go From Newbie to Confident Drummer. It's a relatively quick read at around 180 pages, but it's surprisingly comprehensive. Now, I usually try to steer clear of too much “insider baseball” on this podcast because I want everyone to feel part of the conversation. That said, I also realized I haven't really addressed beginner drummers directly in a lot of my content. So I brought Mark on not only to promote his book (which I do recommend — link's in the show notes), but also to have a conversation about building a solid foundation from day one. And while this book and convo are definitely geared toward novice drummers, there are a ton of takeaways that can help any drummer — no matter where you're at in your journey. So, whether you're just picking up sticks for the first time or you're revisiting the fundamentals, I hope you dig this episode. Even if you think you've heard it all before... you might just grow a little more. Here's to the beginners — keep going. You got this! Check out Bang! The Drum School HERE Snag your copy of Drumming Decoded HERE --- ALSO...Get Your Copy of the my book Drummers on Drumming Today!
As of tomorrow, January 1st, foreign travelers from the US, European Union member countries, and dozens of other visa-exempt countries must apply online for an electronic travel authorization, “ETA,” permit to enter Israel. Mark Feldman, CEO of Ziontours in Jerusalem, told reporter Arieh O’Sullivan that the process was simple and similar to other countries. Feldman also said that while low-cost airlines were returning, the big foreign airlines won’t likely come back till Spring. El Al airlines posted record quarterly profit and revenue, lifted by its near-monopoly as many foreign carriers have cancelled flight service to Israel due to the conflict in the region. Meanwhile, Israel's transportation ministry said it has reached understandings with American aviation authorities for two Israeli airlines to provide service to the United States this winter. Mark Feldman, Director of Diesenbhaus Jerusalem spoke to KAN reporter Naomi Segal about the developments. (Photo: Yossi Aloni/Flash90)See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Foreign airlines have continued to cancel flights to Israel. Low-cost carrier easyJet announced Tuesday it was extending the suspension of flights to and from Israel until March. However, Israeli airlines are adding additional flights, including from Athens and Larnaca, bringing home Israelis who were stuck there. Delta Airlines announced it was extending its suspension of flights to Ben Gurion Airport through August 31. American United Airlines also stopped its flights to Israel and has not yet announced when it will renew its flights to Ben Gurion Airport. El Al is now the only company currently operating direct flights between Israel and the United States. Meanwhile, thousands of Israelis are stranded overseas as some foreign airlines, including the Lufthansa Group, cancelled flights. KAN's Mark Weiss asked Mark Feldman , CEO of Ziontours, how bad the situation is. (Photo:Flash90)See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Book Vs Movie: “Heartburn” The “Nora Ephron is a Queen” Episode Norah Ephron was one of the most celebrated writers of the 20th Century from her work as an essayist for Esquire to her best-selling novels and screenplays for classic films. She has been honored with Academy Awards, Writer's Guild Awards, and BAFTAs. She was a food writer and movie director. Known for being tough and uncompromising (who fired a child actor after his day on the set of Sleepless in Seattle!) Yet she was a total romantic who enjoyed a happy marriage with fellow writer Nicholas Pileggi. Her first novel, Heartburn, came out in 1983 and was based on her tumultuous marriage to reporter Carl Bernstein (we talked him in our All the President's Men episode) which ended when he had an affair during her second pregnancy. The “power couple” split and the divorce took years to happen. Mainly because Berstein was concerned about how he would be played in the movie directed by Mike Nichols. Ephron wrote the screenplay for the 1986 film and due to her divorce decree, she had to make sure the character filling for Bernstein (called “Mark Feldman” as a maybe-nod to Mark Felt. The real “Deep Throat” source for Watergate) had to be portrayed as not a jerk. Nichols and Jack Nicholson (who played the Mark Feldman part) were a part of the divorce negotiations. Meryl Streep gives an amazing performance as “Rachel Samstat” who loves her husband even though he is having an affair while she is in her second trimester. It's frustrating to hear her character lose her voice in this translation--but we will talk ALL about that in this episode plus the awful reviews some male critics gave the film. Mostly we talk about the wonderful Norah Ephron and why she is one of the wisest, funniest, and most romantic writers of her generation. So, between the novel and the movie--which did we prefer? (Honestly, it is not going to even be close but have a listen anyway!) In this ep the Margos discuss: The incredible life of Norah Ephron Her most famous films including When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle and You've Got Mail. Carl Bernstein's unusual divorce/lawsuit demands The cast: Meryl Street (Rachel Samstat,) Jack Nicholson (Jack Forman,)Stockard Channing (Julie Siegel,) Jeff Daniels (Richard,) Milos Forman (Dmitri,) Steven Hill (Harry Samstat,) Catherine O'Hara (Betty,) Mamie Gummer (Annie,) Maureen Stapleton (Vera,) and Mercedes Ruehl as Eve. Has your health gone south irrespective of a skyrocketing professional trajectory? Wondering how you can reverse this viciousness? Born in Pittsburgh in a traditional Jewish family, Mark shares that he was always pudgy and suffered from unhealthy eating habits while growing up. These habits notwithstanding, Mark represented his college in water polo. At the age of 22, Mark remembers experiencing bittersweet feelings after a particularly hard-fought victory over UCLA. While he was ecstatic over the outcome of the match, Mark had a premonition that he was in the best shape of his life. Or in other words, his health had nowhere to go but downhill moving fore-ward. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened. While Mark went on to enjoy massive successes, the demands of his profession had a telling impact on his health. Starting at a law firm, Mark eventually went on to helm large, well-known organizations like E! News and GSN. In this segment of the show, you will learn how Mark and his team managed to tread the fine line between profitability and growth. Last year, just after covid broke out, like many of us, Mark was in “self-soothing” mode. And he decided to resort to fitness so that he could snap out. Before meeting Dan, Mark tipped the scale at 212 pounds. With 30% body fat, he was suffering from high blood pressure and cholesterol. After a year of following Dan's regimen, Mark is at a healthy 175 pounds and a body fat percentage of a respectable 17.5%. Learn how getting fitter has had a ripple impact on Mark's life. Enjoy! What You Will Learn In This Show Non-physical changes to my life after knocking off 40 pounds Why you need to snap out of self-pity Why it is never too late to work on your fitness How can professional demands wreak havoc with your health and fitness And so much more… Resources Dan Go High Performance Founder

I sat down with a friend and fellow single mom, Belinda, to talk dating! We chat about dating as a single mom, when we felt ready to get back on the dating scene, what dating apps we used, what we said in our dating profiles, when and how to introduce the kids to a new partner and more! There was so much more we wanted to share so we will definitely have to sit down again for a part 2 on this topic. Also, big thanks to Mark Feldman at www.mrmusicmark.com for the Podcasts intro and outdo music! Mark has a music school and runs various music classes like mom & tot music - check him out!
