What happens when entire groups of people vanish without a trace? From maritime mysteries like the ghost ship Mary Celeste, found adrift with no crew aboard… to the haunting fate of the Roanoke Colony, erased from history with only the word Croatoan as a clue. We'll also explore the modern-day enigma of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, which disappeared with 239 passengers, the bizarre wilderness vanishings documented in David Paulides' Missing 411, and the heartbreaking case of the Sodder family, whose children were never found after a devastating house fire. These stories raise more questions than answers: Were they victims of foul play, natural disaster, government cover-ups, or something beyond our understanding? Le tonnerre gronde, des cris résonnent sur le pont, et la cloche d'urgence sonne à travers le bruit assourdissant de la tempête. On December 5th, 1872, about 400 miles off the coast of the Azores, crew members on the British ship Dei Gratia spotted a ship adrift in the sea. The Captain of the ship was shocked to find that the unguided ship was the Mary Celeste, which had departed from NYC eight days before him, and had been well past-due to have arrived in Genoa, Italy.A small crew was sent to the ship. Below deck, items had been tossed around, and crewmen's belongings were still in their quarters. The only lifeboat on the ship was missing, and one of the pumps was disassembled. There was a large supply of food and drink, but not a soul on the ship to consume it. So what happened to the ten people who had been on board the Mary Celeste? Throughout maritime history, ships have been found drifting with crews mysteriously vanished, leaving behind half-eaten meals and personal belongings undisturbed. The Mary Celeste in 1872, the Carroll A. Deering in 1921, and even modern vessels like the Kaz II in 2007 share the same eerie pattern – perfectly seaworthy ships abandoned in an instant. Some ghost ships reveal more disturbing scenes, like the Ourang Medan, where an entire crew was found dead with faces frozen in terror. Others seemingly travel through time, appearing decades after their disappearance or in impossible locations. Most fascinating is the legend of a Spanish galleon found deep in the Mojave Desert, miles from any ocean. These maritime mysteries span centuries and oceans, reminding us that despite our technology, some things remain beyond human understanding.
Eerie vanishings, haunted ghost ships and monstrous sea creatures don't just take place in the Bermuda Triangle. Located between Bermuda, Puerto Rico, and the tip of Florida, this area has puzzled people for over 100 years. From the spooky disappearance of the USS Cyclops with 306 crew members in 1918 to the more recent sinking of the SS El Faro in 2015, the Bermuda Triangle becomes more mysterious year after year. Tonight we'll look at some of the strangest events in the Triangle, like Flight 19, which vanished during a routine training mission; and the Witchcraft, a boat that disappeared just minutes after calling for help. We'll look at other locations around the world similar to the Bermuda Triangle that don't get the same recognition – but are just as mysterious. And while we're in the water, we'll touch on a few ocean ghost stories, and reports of sea monsters. So before we get started, if you tend to get sea sick, you might want to grab your Dramamine.CHAPTERS & TIME STAMPS (All Times Approximate and Only Accurate For the Commercial Version)…00:00:00.000 = Lead-In00:01:21.662 = Show Open00:02:05.707 = Bermuda Triangle: A History of Mystery00:10:13.632 = Vile Vortices Around the World00:20:43.194 = Monsters Beneath The Waves00:38:49.705 = Ocean Ghost Storeis00:48:08.720 = Show CloseSOURCES AND RESOURCES FROM THE EPISODE…Bermuda Triangle sources: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/6sw5aj4j, https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/3mf3vvw6Vile Vortices source: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/2p8fhp3bOcean Ghost Stories source: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/rmhs277yMonsters Beneath The Waves source: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/596estzu=====(Over time links seen above may become invalid, disappear, or have different content. A ghost ship, also known as a phantom ship, is a vessel with no living crew aboard; it may be a fictional ghostly vessel, such as the Flying Dutchman, or a physical derelict found adrift with its crew missing or dead, like the Mary Celeste. The term is sometimes used for ships that have been decommissioned but not yet scrapped, as well as drifting boats that have been found after breaking loose of their ropes and being carried away by the wind or the waves.More recently, ships which travel with their mandated Automatic identification system turned off to avoid detection and monitoring, have also been referred to as ghost ships.Support the pod:www.patreon.com/monsterfuzz Check out our merch:https://monster-fuzz.creator-spring.com Everything else!www.linktr.ee/monsterfuzzBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/monster-fuzz--4349429/support.

Did the story they tell in 1961 actually happen – or was it an elaborate hoax? While no one can say for certain, they evidence does seem overwhelming that what they say they experienced as terrifyingly real. *** A woman lives day to day with an entity. *** A strange – and eerie - story of a boy and his dog. *** A girl sees a black-eyed man on a train… and she's the only one who can see him. *** Only the name of Jesus Christ pushes away a terrifying entity in one girl's bedroom. *** The crew completely vanished from the ship with no explanation yet to be found. You'd think I would be talking about the legendary Mary Celeste – but there is another ship that suffered a similar fate. *** In 1921, Roscoe “Fatty” Arbuckle was the highest-paid actor in the world. But before the year was out, he was accused of a crime so monstrous that he would never appear onscreen again. *** A cabin in the middle of the woods, in the middle of the night, a strange figure barely visible in the darkness. It could almost be the setup for a cliché horror movie if it wasn't real for one man. *** Insanity, tragedy, and death… and that's just the start of what you'll find at Loftus Hall, Ireland's most haunted residence. *** People around the world are reporting an odd phenomenon of walking and suddenly striking what can only be described an an invisible barrier, like a transparent wall.
