Having spent several years in the insurance industry, I know that insurance is one of those subjects that no one likes to talk about (but they need to). It is an uncomfortable topic because it is confusing and focuses on a bunch of what-ifs and potentially bad things that you hope never happen. With that said, I have seen how people have been saved by their insurance policy when something goes wrong, and others who wish they had the right type of insurance and had to shell out enormous sums of money out of their own pocket. In eCommerce, you can get a policy, and the insurance company will gladly take your money. BUT if the policy isn't structured correctly, you could be rejected if, God forbid, something bad happened that caused you to need to actually use your policy. That is why I am excited to bring on Matt Lovell from Well Insurance, and Matt has been my agent for 5 years. Connect with Matt Well Insurance Connect with Kevin Facebook Group Instagram LinkedIn

Product liability insurance isn't just something to think about, or a ”nice to have” if you're a private label brand owner on Amazon. You need to have it! We spoke with Matt Lovell of WELL Insurance in this episode to go through the main questions and confusion he sees from Amazon sellers pushed to provide copies of their liability coverage by certain dates. Final reminders were recently sent, too, and most dates suggested deadlines in the near future if not already passed. Matt spoke with us about every seller's best practices and what their next steps should be.
Matt Lovell, Former Data, Analytics & Insight Director at Eurostar explains how automation transformed their customer experience in the wake of the pandemic On March 13, 2020, after two years of hard work, Eurostar replaced its 50-year-old ticketing system with a modern, data-driven platform. On March 15, 2020, COVID-19 caused Eurostar's passenger numbers to crash. In this week's episode of the Business of Data Podcast, Matt Lovell, former Data, Analytics, and Insight Director at Eurostar, explains why he reprioritized his data projects to improve customer experiences as pandemic disruption hit. “At the moment all of the projects that we would normally work on are largely on hold. So, it does give you the options to do a bit of a reset, whether it's adding rigorous processes, fixing systems, or restructuring data in a way that we want it,” he says. “These are things that normally wouldn't get looked at.” Reacting to Customer Demand in Real-Time As lockdowns began, Eurostar customers needed a way to easily reschedule or cancel their journeys. Unfortunately, their voucher-based compensation system was not designed to deal with a pandemic. “That created a whole new management scenario that we hadn't necessarily planned for,” Lovell says. “There were a lot of things we had to systematically work through.” The first job, he explains, was quick to take stock of the situation and prioritize key projects. Then, the team rapidly iterated on system modifications and introduced automation designed to improve customer experiences. “We started to [ask] how we could gradually move to a point whereas much of this was automated as possible and as much of this was visible to the customer as possible.” Automating key parts of the process helped Lowell to implement a convenient system for customers to switch tickets and claim refunds online. It also proved the value of automation to the business. “The resource that was needed for us to do it manually at the beginning was so substantial,” he says. “[Now] we can build this in a way where it barely has any of that.” “Not only is that reducing the stress on the business but it's also improving the customer experience, so it's really a win-win,” he concludes. Key Takeaways Use ‘downtime' to reevaluate data priorities. If your regular projects are on hold, take the opportunity to take a fresh look at your priorities Iterate for success. Even if a system is not perfect immediately, by iterating over time you can make incremental improvements Automation can create a win-win. By making systems more efficient, data leaders can improve customer experiences and prove business value at the same time.

“It is hard to maintain a low body fat percentage on a Vegan diet without increasing activity significantly.” I got into nutrition after my mother died of cancer and after understanding the effects food had on my body. I have ulcerative colitis and certain foods caused inflammation and certain foods caused the opposite...or neutral. When I was learning nutrition, I was alongside athletes...I remember someone saying some people eat to live and some people live to eat...different attitudes and beliefs around food... the athletes were asking really intelligent questions...if In add this and this will it improve my speed....and I asked questions like...yeah but if you fancy a bit of chocolate? and i realised that they believed food was food and i believed food was pleasure... To finally understand what my fellow athletic students were talking about, we have Matt Lovell on the show. Matt is a specialist performance nutritionist with 18 years practical experience in elite sports, working directly with international teams (England Rugby and Football, Manchester City, Tottenham, Aston Villa) and many individual athletes (Jonny Wilkinson, James Haskell, Jermain Defoe, Jodie Taylor, Will Sharman, Vic Wild to name a few). Speaking to Matt Lovell was pretty epic for me. The England 2003 Rugby World Cup winning team will always be heroes in my mind. Being obsessed with rugby from the age of 8 years old was made even more drastic when that trophy was won in Australia 16 years ago! Matt Lovell was the sports nutritionist for that team. So when I got the chance to speak with him I jumped all over it! When Matt came down to the gym we really got stuck in to a few topics based around nutrition, it was very obvious when I was speaking with him that I was talking to somebody who was at the top of their field. Matt has and still is the nutritionist for some top level sorts teams. He has been a nutritionist on a one on one basis for a long time too. His passion for his field has lead him to bring out his own brand Aminoman - a supplementation brand that can aid both males and females to perform at the top of their abilities. Whatever your goal is Aminoman has the solution to provide that support. Whether it be muscle gain, recovery, improved sleep, reduced inflammation, increased energy etc… these products are top grade and can be of some serious use depending on where you are in your fitness journey. If you got to www.aminoman.com and type in SFL25 into your basket you will get 25% off of your first order. What we spoke about in this episode: * Matt's background…. He studied ‘Political Philosophy' at university!?!? * How Matt went from a Personal Trainer to working as a Nutritionist on Harley Street. * Matt tells us how he got into working with professional sports teams. * The 2003 World Cup Winning Rugby team. Matt tells us how he worked with the team and how the impact of more precise nutrition helped their performance and therefore results. * Aminoman. How the brand came about. Listen in guys this one is extremely interesting episode, Matt is a very very knowledgeable man and a great guy. Enjoy.

We have Jared Easley author of the book Podcasting Good To Great How to Grow your Audience through Collaboration. You might also recognize that name as we was one of the organizers of the HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL Podcast movement and also has a really good podcast called Starve the Doubts. Today we hear how Jared stared out by noticing others and seeing how they could help them (looking for nothing in return). He didn't know what he was doing all the time, but that didn't stop him. When he doubt, he could always find someone and ask some questions. I first started listening to his podcast before Podcast Movement. I liked this show. I met Matt Lovell at the event, and he mentioned how he was going to be in Cleveland soon. I toll him to look me up. He did. We did and he sat in on a recording o the Ask the Podcast Coach show that I do live on Saturday Mornings. On the way to breakfast he told me a story of how he had reached out to a podcast host, and the host had called him on the phone. The podcaster? Jared Easley. Does this mean that you have to call all of your listeners to grow your audience? No. If you have the time, you could. We talk about using teleconferencing to connect live with your audience (especially helpful if they are not up to speed on webinars). Jared mentioned FreeConferencing.com and Dave like uberconference.com. Its not doing LARGE things that will grow your audience. In many cases its the little things you do that have the most impact. What if you impacted 5 people a week. What would that do over the span of a year? You could have 60 people who have true connection with you and enjoy telling people about your show. As the old commercial goes, "And they told two friends, and they told two friends.." Matt's Story - Permission To Chat? [31:00] Matt Lovel had just found Jared's podcast, he tweeted about it to his friends. He asked what their favorite episode of Starve the Doubts was. People came out of the woodwork with suggestions and one person was the host Jared Easley. Jared asked (via twitter) if they would like to move to the phone, and 2.5 hours later their phone call ended. One of the cool things about podcasting is people who like your show are more than likely LIKE YOU. This means you will probably connect with people who listen to your show. In this instance Matt and Jared talked about life goals, etc and Matt explained how he was moving between jobs. Jared new someone who was looking for Matt's skills.
