“They like me when I behave so what happens if I take more, will they like me more?” ABOUT THE GUEST Wyatt Opalinski is a recovering drug addict who fell into addiction through prescription drugs. He experimented with the dosage of his prescribed drugs, originally given to him during his adolescence after being diagnosed with ADHD. After a lengthy battle with addiction, he has now been clean for over a year. His goal is to show others that there is hope for the future and with the right support and mindset, life without addiction is possible. IN THIS EPISODE Wyatt shares his personal story with Stephanie and her audience. His drug addiction began with upping his dosage of Metadate CD (Generic Name: methylphenidate HCl) which was prescribed for his ADHD in adolescence. In this intimate episode, Wyatt explains how he never fitted in due to his behaviour problems. He believed that by taking more medication, he would be accepted by his peers and viewed as ‘normal’. Little did he know at the age of ten, that this decision would lead to many years of addiction and hard drug abuse. --------------------------------------- Listen to the podcast on your mobile: - Apple Podcasts: https://apple.co/2VaeOhP - Android: http://bit.ly/2ASKOgS - Spotify: https://spoti.fi/35n7rbF - Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/s?fid=468467 --------------------------------------- ABOUT THE HOST “Give your body what it needs and nothing it does not need.” Hello, I am Stephanie Webster, the CEO of Urban Health Method: https://www.urbanhealthmethod.com/ Welcome to my podcast. "As men get older, their testosterone levels may decline about 1 percent per year after age 30. In premenopausal women, testosterone is made mainly in the ovaries. Levels will decline after menopause, which usually begins between ages 45 and 55." To help us understand our hormones better, today on the show we have the honour of having Dr Maroof Harghandiwal on the show! Dr Maroof specialises in HORMONE Optimisation Therapy. "I have qualified as a doctor over 20 years ago; I have been a NHS GP for nearly 15 years and practicing Bio-identical hormone optimization for over 5 year. • Currently I am doing a fellowship in metabolic, hormone and nutrition with A4M (American Academy of Anti Ageing Medicine) and this program is approved by the Royal college of GPs in London." Where do you work? Zen Pharmacy https://www.zenhealthcare.co.uk/team/medical-team/dr-maroof-harghandiwal/ 2- Over the years as a doctor, you have transformed the hormones of Royal family, actors and an amazing range of clients ….. Why do you also love working with entrepreneurs and executives? I love working with CEO, Executive and Entrepreneurs as the majority of them suffer from Testosterone deficiency symptoms due to the busy working schedule, unhealthy lifestyle and lack of time to exercise. • I have seen numbers of males and females clients for hormones optimization over the years. • Hormone optimization does miracle, by restoring your hormone to optimal level (youth level) , you will feel physically, psychologically and sexually in a much better shape. 3- Why is important to look after our hormones? As we age some of our vital hormones start to decline in our body. For example in men, testosterone decline starts as early as 30s and the rate of decline is about 1-2% per year. So once we reach the age of 40-50 we have significantly lower testosterone level. • The rate of decline fluctuates according to individual diet, Nutritional deficiencies, lifestyle, stress, and illness (like diabetes, Obesity and Metabolic syndrome). • Optimal level of hormones not ONLY help us physically, psychologically and sexually to be at our best, but MOST IMPORTANTLY prevent us from getting chronic diseases as we age: like Cardiovascular disease, Diabetes, Bone disease, Depression, Dementia and the list goes on. 4/5: Tell us about your Hormone optimization therapy. Some people believes this sounds scary.. Explain the process, the blood test…. The prescribed doses and So on… Thank you for asking this very IMPORTANT question. • Hormone in general has a bad perception among THE public and medical profession due to lack of knowledge. • There is a Stigma around hormones, Even when I talk to my medical colleagues about testosterone for example, they imagine those body builders who use Super-Physiological dose that causes significant risk to their health • It is all about the balance and to have optimal level. By optimal level I mean upper limit of Normal where you get all the health benefit according to many research papers. So WE mainly use physiology dose of hormone for Example Testosterone 5-10mg daily for men and 0.5-1mg daily form women. • Let me explain Briefly about the patient journey; 1. Initial Consultation: ! General medical history ! Discussion regarding Testosterone Optimization ! Symptoms and signs (MEN Complete ADAM, AMS, TD and WOMEN complete menopause questionnaire) ! Discuss the importance of regular monitoring ! Physical examination (Height, Weight, BMI, BP, HR, Prostate Examination on the follow up visit) ! Discuss Consent form and copy given to patient to read and sign at the follow up visit. ! Blood test (ZEN1 Plus PSA) ! Follow up after a week 2. Follow

When I was learning nutrition, I was alongside athletes...I remember someone saying some people eat to live and some people live to eat...different attitudes and beliefs around food... the athletes were asking really intelligent questions...if In add this and this will it improve my speed....and I asked questions like...yeah but if you fancy a bit of chocolate? and i realised that they believed food was food and i believed food was pleasure... When I coach my clients, the most difficult thing they need to change is their mindset. I never tire of interviewing individuals who have achieved extraordinary things… despite the perceived odds. I get chills listening to those amazing individuals who received the news… you’ve got cancer…or ..you have 90 days to live…or your DNA says you will likely get Alzheimers…… soldiers who lose a leg… and so on…and frankly…anyone who has ever been told…no you cant… It takes a certain strength of mind to say …excuse me…thank you for your opinion, but that doesn’t define me. Now watch me make the most of my life. And today… I have the overwhelming privilege of having Olympian Gold Medallist Mark Colbourne MBE on the show. Mark has created a successful speaking career from presenting his key messages on “Change and Mindset” to many FTSE 250 companies. Mark has kindly educated other people successfully on how to overcome their fear of change. Patrick became a student of the late Dr. Carl Pfeiffer, director of Princeton’s Brain Bio Center, and later a student of Dr. Abram Hoffer, Director of the International Schizophrenia Foundation in Canada, who was leading the field in mental health and nutrition. In 1980 Patrick started treating mental health patients with nutritional medicine. In 1984 he founded the Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION), a charitable and independent educational trust for the furtherance of education and research in nutrition. Today, ION is the largest training school in the UK offering a diploma course in nutritional therapy. During his time as director of ION, Patrick ran many educational campaigns that brought attention to the importance of zinc and pyrolluyria, disglycaemia, antioxidants, methylation and homocysteine, IgG food allergies, essential fats in mental health – factors still greatly underestimated in the treatment of mental illness. Patrick retired as Director of ION in 1997 to focus on writing, teaching, and researching. In 2003 Patrick founded the Brain Bio Centre at ION, a treatment centre pioneering the optimum nutrition approach for mental health, to formalise the treatment of mental health with nutrition and to act as a research centre. The Brain Bio centre is owned by the Food for the Brain Foundation, a registered education charity he set up, to promote awareness of the link between learning, behaviour, mental health, and nutrition. In 2007, Patrick was appointed Patron of South African Association for Nutritional Therapy, and Patron of IANT (Irish Association of Nutritional Therapy) in 2009. He is the author of 37 books, translated into over 30 languages and selling millions of copies worldwide, including The Optimum Nutrition Bible, The Low GL-Diet Bible, Optimum Nutrition for the Mind and The 10 Secrets of 100% Healthy People, 10 Secrets of Healthy Ageing and Good Medicine. His educational website www.patrickholford.com attracts half a million visits a year. What is the difference between fasting and not eating at all?! Toby Street from Fasting with Alice explains. Interviewed by Stephanie Webster Urban Health Method. Toby is currently based in Thailand, he is helping predominantly entrepreneurs and wealth owners in opening up and releasing physical and emotional blockages, enabling them to elevate their awareness of self and thus achieve higher states of consciousness. This allows for greater awareness in their lives and businesses resulting in more peace, acceptance, love, compassion, success, and abundance in all ways. His business background is varied: from buying properties in the SW of England and investing in student accommodation on behalf of a fund in the NE, to starting a digital marketing agency in London, then later working both in business and personally with the super-wealthy in Mayfair, London, where he learned a lot about the impact of wealth on our bodies and minds, which can manifest in many ways. Toby then met Jeremy Harbour and a business partnership began that, together with Callum Laing, saw them create 'Agglomeration' that would set out to solve some big problems in the world of investments, business equity value and liquidity. Toby was Co-Founder and European President of The Marketing Group Plc which, before being sabotaged by unknowingly toxic debt, was the third-largest Marcomms buyer in 2016 (only 3 months activity). In the months following the fall-out from the sabotage, Toby retracted from business for the first time since he was 19 to allow proper space for reflection, and to go within and gain a deeper understanding of himself and the world, knowing Agglomeration is really Jeremy and Callum's baby anyway and to support them in his own way and as a non-exec for MBH. Complete physical and psychological reset ensued. Toby educated himself in fasting, transformed his health and perspective, then with his partner, Alice, and a shared fascination of the human state devoted themselves through Fasted Life to helping people elevate themselves beyond disease, anxiety, feeling out of control and stress and into the flow, peace, happiness, and authentic success. https://www.linkedin.com/in/tobydstreet https://twitter.com/tobystreet If you want to Get in Shape, Get Healthy and Get Happy, call us for a confidential consultation - Stephanie Webster Urban Health Method. 07500 356356 (WhatsApp) hello@urbanhealthmethod.com urbanhealthmethod.com CLICK HERE TO DONATE TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF OUR PODCAST:https://www.patreon.com/urbanhealth

He has 25 years experience of supporting clients with weight, food, eating and body issues. He had a very complex relationship with food since he was young. He said " I was very unhappy and my eating disorder became a habit, a way for me to survive when life became tough. By the time I was 17, I weighed in at 19 stones and 7 pounds (124Kg) and had a 44-inch waist." In my twenties, I worked as a studio Instructor and personal trainer, which ignited my metabolism, and as a result, I lost weight. My binge eating was still present but was now being masked by the purging of calories through exercise. I started to feel attractive, but I was still very critical of my body shape. I would negatively compare myself to men and other instructors. The taunting critical voices from my childhood were still with me. WeightMatters has been a natural progression in my journey. I wanted to create a place where people feel heard and understood, so they could bring and resolve their issues around weight, eating, food and body image. I believe it is a combination of psychological and nutritional therapies that make WeightMatters a truly innovative and successful practice."
